I'm really sorry that I missed this one on the big screen and watched it on DVD (on my 35" TV). I can only imagine how much more entertaining the movie must have been in the theater.

Even though I had already heard enough positive comments about "Curse of the Black Pearl", I must say that I had not expected to enjoy it as much as I did. It had almost the perfect proportion of comedy, romance, adventure and. . . . surprise.

The special effects, visual and sound were great (and I'm sorry I didn't watch it in the theater). I'm not sure if I will actually get the DVD (I only watched it for the very first time last nite), but I am quite tempted.

Anyway, I also just found out that there is going to be a sequel coming out in 2005. Can't wait for it.

I have hated very, very few movies in my life - and this is one of them. It could have had something to do with the fact that I went to watch this while we were visiting Disney World and that I was just tired from walking all day.

But in any case, I found it to so boring that after about 30-40 minutes, I got up and left the theatre.

I have lost count of how many times I've seen this movie. That's how much I like it.

It's got the right number of characters, it's just the right pace, it's about a very specific topic - for me. Everything about the movie is simple. The Characters, plot, setting and even the music.

Also th ending is perfect. Not too dramatic or anti-dramatic. Just right.

The only other movie that I can think of that I liked similarly is "Falling in Love".

Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone is a very good movie. But to me it failed to live up to the expectation set up by the book (forget the media hype and al that).

Even after being just over 2 and a half hour long, the movie skipped quite a few "interesting" explanations. But the movie "felt" too fast, too rushed thru.

I saw it the first weekend (Saturday, Nov 17th) and am eagerly waiting for the next one to come out. I think it's going to be better since all the plot has already been laid out.

The male dominance in the indo-pak sub-continental society, even today, and it's affects really needs more addressing.

How/where do you draw the line? Where is the balance? Being a modern, educated woman doesn't necessarily have to mean a career woman.

Astitva chose to take the more direct stand of siding with the female movement. What it did not address is the group of female who are in the middle. The females who are capable of being independent, but are more interested in family and home.

The biggest flaw of the movie was putting both Sri and Aniket (Aditi's son) in the same boat. But I guess they wanted to deal with one simple issue and keep the plot simple.

The best part of the movie (as far as the making goes) - it was exactly as long as it had to be.

I loved the appereances of the "other" fairytale characters. It was very interesting.

My daughter is now 2 and a half and she too enjoyed the movie. But I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable her watching it when she's a bit older.

Loved the ending. Happy but not typical.
