Is it surprising that Stephen King would roll out another excellent film? In my opinion, I don't think it was as fantastic as "The Shining" with Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall, or as horrific as "Pet Sematary" with Denise Crosby and Dale Midkiff. "Graveyard Shift" was a great movie, as well!
Being a mini-series, however, "Rose Red" was able to pull a great many things off that just cannot be accomplished in a 2-hour movie format. Kimberly J Brown was fantastic as Annie Wheaton and Kevin Tighe lended his support in a smaller role. And, of course, Stephen King's walk-on appearance as the Pizza Delivery man [ala Alfred Hitchcock] was neat. I always like to see his cameo appearances.
If you have not seen this movie, and your an avid Stephen King fan, take the time to watch it!
