If it would be serious, it would be ok!
16 September 2000
Yeah...if it would be serious, it would be ok. In the beginning, the film starts off as moody and creepy. All the dead village idiot-villains are brough back to live, and they attempt to bring a whole bunch of dead warriors back to life as well. Ok, but NOOO...of course the word "serious" fades away, and the "humour" is brough to the plot and dialogue. The first one has only a little bit of humour, and that's why its a helluva lot better than this. The last thirty minutes are the worst! And there's no craphic violence either! C-R-A-P!

StageFright (1987)
One of the best slashers!
16 September 2000
One of the best slashers, and an impressive debut for director Soavi. A very moody photography, and stylish visual ballet. The graphic violence is very gruesome too. The score is also good, and the musical scenes are impressive. Watch out the Finnish videoversion (butchered over 4 minutes!).

Absurd (1981)
Groovy SFX, but the plot is...um..bad.
16 September 2000
This so-called sequel to D'Amato's classic Anthropophagus has some groovy gory special fx, but the plot is trash. Still, its entertaining, and you'll watch it at least once. The end is pretty good too. The score is surprisingly good, too. I rate it ** from ****.

Pretty c**p, but you can watch it.
16 September 2000
The writer of Pekka&Pätkä-movies, Reino Helismaa, was going to bring new characters for the comedy duo who played Pekka and Pätkä, but the greedy producer decided that this script will be shot as a Pekka&Pätkä-movie, that it will make profit for sure. In the plot, Pekka&Pätkä are inventors, who mix up with thiefes, and finally end up in a movie about "Superman" (!!!). Yes, the DC-comic character. The makers didn't have a clue, what the word "copyright" means, I guess. Haves only few laughs, and the clock, which will ring, when somebody is lying, brings out a couple of jokes.

A bad ass bash with a punch!
26 August 2000
A very entertaining, and funny Sonny Chiba-flick, which is the sequel to his legendary movie "Street Fighter", where he played the hitman Terry Tsuguri. The first one was the only movie rated 'X' from violence at the time. Sadly, this sequel doesn't contain as much gore and guts as the first one, but it still has some nice Karate-scenes. Sadly, when the movie has begun, we will have to wait over 40 minutes that the fighting starts, but soon the storms will rise, and bones will crack! The legendary villain, who supposedly died, from the first movie, is back...with a vengeance! Has some funny scenes (the scene in the sauna), some dramatic scenes (the b&w flashbacks from Terry's childhood), some very good fight-scenes (the scene in the alpes, the fínal battle), some groovy martial arts weapon-scenes (the training in the Karate-school), and the theme is a classic! I rate it **½ from ****. Be sure to watch it in it's full widescreen ratio.

A masterpiece (or trash?)...
11 August 2000
A very chilling movie, which starts with a crazy and surrealist dance, where naked women dance all over, and old men scream towards the sky. Then a coffin has dragged open, and a man (Coffin Joe?) is broad back to life. Then the story goes to an eerie hostel, where all kinds of men come in one stormy night. Coffin Joe tells the visitors some very strange stuff like "All thats nothing will be everything" (???!). The moody story ends up in a knockdown-ending, but the story still continues veery eerie for its last a couple of minutes. Lots of violence, and corny nudity, its normaly regarded as pure exploitation trash. But if you look it, in another way, its a masterpiece of eerie horror-movies. *** out of ****, or *½ out of ****. You see it, then decide.

The trailer is better...
10 August 2000
This movie is ok, and it has also some gory moments. The plot is also ok, and the acting is ok. But the movie is not so ok, but you can still watch even a second time around. But believe me, the trailer of the movie is better than the movie itself!

Exorcism (1975)
A really bad Exorcist-rip off...
10 August 2000
Warning: Spoilers
A cheap, bad Exorcist-rip off, and absolutely one of Paul Naschy's (alias Jacinto Molina) worst movies. The script is very...very...um, bad, and the plot is really bad. Naschy of course denied that the movie is an Exorcist-rip off, but we all know the truth. Watch out for the final exorcism-scene, which is so ridiculous as possible (the evil spirit goes to a DOG!). Naschy as a priest is of course ok, but the other actors are something from a summer theatre school...

Eerie movie, I tell ya...
5 August 2000
A very eerie movie at times, but still quite amusing at times. Some reporters wonder why director Marins does not believe in his own fictional character, Coffin Joe (alias Ze Do Caixao). After the interview he goes to visit his friend for christmas, and study some ideas for his new upcoming movie, "The Demon Exorcist". But there are some strange stuff going on in his friend's cabin. Tarantulas in christmas tree, people going berserk, and shouting some strange crap. We all know whats coming, because in the neightbourhood, in a wicked witch's wall, there's a picture of who else, than Coffin Joe! Don't miss the end, which is certainly NC-17 stuff, for both, the gore and the nudity. The musical score is eerie and chilling too.

Goofy and funny.
26 July 2000
Ok, it's goofy, it's funny. Not quite the best "Pekka & Pätkä" movie, but still pretty funny. I'f you want more laughs, watch "Pekka & Pätkä Lumimiehen Jäljillä" or "Pekka & Pätkä Ketjukolarissa". Don't miss the scene in the park! I also recommend the new "Pekka & Pätkä" movies by the legendary Finnish Ed Wood, Visa Mäkinen.
