Should have had R rating
24 February 2003
I don't understand how this film did not get an "R" rating. The movie was hotter than a PG-13 rating. I think the first 10 minutes of the film were extremely sultry with the Velma Kelly dance and then Roxie Hart being groped in the stairwell. Maybe I was an idiot to take my 11 and 13 year old children, but we had to leave the movie after 10 minutes. The film was more suggestive than I would have thought a PG-13 film would be. My 11 year old said, " Why was that lady laying around on the stage and smoking cigarettes while she was singing." I feel like a fool. The new PG-13 film is really an "R."

Dirty Indeed
29 August 2002
I saw this film on video with little expectation of any great quality given the delayed release, yet felt that the film was even worse than expected. Having read the original novel, I thought the film had good source material, yet the film was nastier and tawdrier than the book was. The Daniel Quinn character played by James Purefoy was cast in a more negative way than in the book. Gratuitous bedroom scenes were vulgar and frankly embarrassing. The viewer understood that the Daniel Quinn character was a sociopath womanizer lounge lizard from the beginning of the film, so all this excessive bedroom stuff was unnecessary, and like beating a dead horse. Viewers should be given some credit for understanding who and what the characters are rather than be given a "paint by number" picture from repeated scenes explaining why a character is good or bad.

Warm and Fuzzy Snow Dogs!!
19 January 2002
Our whole family loved this film. It was back to the old Disney live action film magic. The dogs were fun, Cuba Gooding, jr. a great comedic actor, and James Coburne just a stitch as rough and gruff Thunder Jack. So nice to feel good about a film when leaving the theater. This film gets 4 stars for family fun! A total 10!
