I was quite pleased when a new Jay and Silent Bob (J&SB) movie was coming out. To be honest Clerks wasn't my favourite of the other J&SB movies, but I generally enjoy Kevin Smith's work.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Clerks II. There's the usual Kevin Smith in-jokes and references to other films, cameos by Ben Affleck, Jason Lee and Wanda Sykes to name a few... It contains the cast from the original Clerks, 10 years later. What really happens to 2 guys who work in the QuickStop for over a decade and tend towards eternal teenagehood when they reach their 30's and everything suddenly changes? The eternal questions of friendship, romance, morals and getting laid get examined.

The best part of this movie is if you had never watched a Jay and Silent Bob movie before you could still enjoy and follow the storyline. You'd miss a few jokes but not enough to ruin the enjoyment.

One last warning... if you're easily offended, better watch something else. There's a lot of areas it'd be easy to get offended with, but take it with a pinch of salt in the context it was meant, and it'll be a fun ride.

When the crew of the Starship Enterprise find a ship adrift in space, they need to find out not only what killed the crew, but what appears to be affecting their own crew as well....

This episode was actually the first one filmed, and it's certainly a rather intimate one to begin with! Probably why the cast became so tight knit over the 7 year run.

There's humour abounding and several scenes now considered "classic". It was the first ever episode I watched of Star Trek (I never saw Original as a kid) and what an introduction! It led to a love of both the series and Data in particular.

Definitely one not to miss!

This littler sucker came on late night TV and I ended up watching, almost like a train wreck. You keep watching, totally amazed these good actors (Dean Stockwell, David Warner & the cute Brian Krause) are stuck in this badly concepted movie. The script sucks, and Pamela Anderson is there purely for sex - both with Krause (one rather vivid scene in particular - not necessary to plot) and fondling other women in the name of fine art.

Don't trust the physics - very shaky and zero credibility. There's little the actors or director could do with such a sucky script. Add a few bad actors in with a few decent ones - and you can really tell the difference. The best scene in my opinion is between Krause and Stockwell as Krause is leaving the university, but the rest is really struggling. While maybe not Z-grade, it's awfully close. Might be so bad its funny for some.

For very late night TV it's perfect. To buy or rent, don't waste your money unless you're a fan of any of the actors mentioned above.

Rove Live has often been called the Australian version of The Late Show with David Letterman. However every American guest on this late night live TV show tends to say Rove is much better than Letterman! Having watched a lot of Letterman as well as Rove I have to agree.

Rove has an energy and organised spontaneity to him that Letterman lacks. Rove is young (just entered his 30's) and has tended to lead the way in trends and comedy in Australia. He'll be politically incorrect, but never cruel or nasty, nor does he embarrass his guests. He saves that for his constant co-stars, Corinne Grant and Peter Hellier. He has been accepted by virtually every stratum of Australian society, from teenagers to the highest people in the music and film industry.

Rove Live is now a 'must visit' for any overseas visitor who wishes to plug their movie, band, album, TV show or themselves. The majority of Australia either watch it or know about it the next day from someone who did. The guest is also guaranteed a laugh and something a bit unexpected.

Rove's popularity has been reflected in the Gold Logies he has been awarded. Logies are Australia's Golden Globes, and the Gold Logie the highest single award.

Every show includes laughter, jokes, unexpected events (such as random attacks by flying monkeys or a pancake fight between Rove and the live audience), several guests, usually including an international guest, musical acts and comedy skits. Something for everyone.

A wonderful romantic comedy movie, full of satire and unresolved emotions. If you've ever spent a decent amount of time in the outback of Australia where the bull dust covers everything and the road trains take 5 blocks to park, then you'll understand the humour in this movie. If you've never even seen Australia then you'll probably have a hard time keeping up, and you may not find it humorous at all, as most of the humour is very outback Aussie (as opposed to city Aussie - there's a difference, ya know) - although British viewers may enjoy the humour as well.

Hugh Jackman plays a believable (and gorgeous) truckie in Outback Oz somewhere out the back of Woop Woop. They're not to specific as to the exact whereabouts of the setting. Claudia Karvan as Ruby is a believable sheila who happens to fly planes, as well as own the name Hugh's character put on his book.

If you really want to see what the Aussie Outback is like, make sure you take note of all the story background including the characters. The storyline isn't too realistic, but I've seen a lot of those road trains and bull dust (the red stuff flying everywhere).

Lots of fun for Romantic Aussies :))))

Considering the current climate on the world stage and just how unpopular the USA is with other nations, mainly over the gung ho attitude over the last 3 years, this movie has some severe punch. The world mentality is now far more war orientated, terrified more bombs will go off. Into that mix this (tele-miniseries) movie arrives.

Right at the start we are abruptly introduced to the idea that The Buttons were pushed, bombs sent, the Northern Hemisphere irradiated. Gone. Kaput. The remainder of this long story is what happens after. It's not terribly realistic (one American submarine survives; that the main place to go is Melbourne, Australia - despite the fact we have Tasmania which is even further south, AND Antarctica; plus how many bunkers do the Americans have anyway?) but if you suspend that bit of disbelief, it's compelling viewing.

I would recommend watching it all in one sitting (as I did) as it had great punch and I became involved with the characters. Maybe it was because I am Australian. I'd like to think not. I think every major politician on the planet should be made to watch movies like this every 6 months. All of them.
