This short movie is eerie and gory, but that alone doesn't save it from being confusing. Little there is that resembles a plot, an idea or a meaning, but it does manage to strike its audience with sheer power. Not for the easily offended.

This short movie is both a homage and a satire of the much revered Ingmar Bergmann movie "The Seventh Seal". The basic premise is that a man, distraught by unemployment and love troubles, goes to a bar intent on killing himself, and is visited by the Grim Reaper himself. In a satire of Bergmann's, this Death is more witty, and yet retains philosophy to his/her/its core. As in The Seventh Seal, the duo gambles for the mortal's life... in most unexpected fashion. I recommend this movie to all cinephilles who can understand the in-joke -- all others would be lost within this superb comedic short.
