under the surface

Brilliant black comedy with simple but intelligent acting. This family is driven to insanity, especially the father when his wife realizes that she can't go on living in a boring suburb. After the explosion they found out they need each other more than ever.

More Swedish please!

Dr. No (1962)
Brilliant introduction
10 January 2001
This is one of the best flicks of the whole series and as an individual film it's also outstanding for its time. No is in the same league as its succeeders From Russia with love and Goldfinger. Maybe it lacks a piece of action but this is compensated by some refreshing acting and a clear storyline. It has some memorable scenes which were repeated in the follow ups. Bondfilms as real spy movies have gone downhill after the first three one. Action is ok if it has purpose. In this one Bond only acts if neccessary and always keeps his calm and uses his brain instead of his fists or gun. This movie thrills more than any other actionvehicle. No is a realistic villain instead of an over the top one. Andress is breathteaking, likewise the exotic scenery.
