Night Sky (2022)
So slow...
Really wanted to love this but only could manage 6 episodes. Just slow and boring. Others will argue and say "it's character building" or some other bs but it moves at a glacial pace.
What We Do in the Shadows (2019)
Great S1&2, Average S3
Loved the film but S3 so far (3 episodes in) seems weak. Focusing too much on Guillermo. Can't even bothered to watch the rest of the episodes now.
Bosch (2014)
So disappointing
I loved this show, the pace, the writing, the characters (apart from Maddie). However the 7th season there's a massive dip in quality across the board. Was there a writers strike? No, however I feel new writers were brought on to introduce certain political themes and current trends we see in so many other generic TV shows. I really thought Bosch would rise about this but seems they choose to follow the sheep rather than stick to a well engineered storyline. Put it this way, I've one episode left to watch and I really can't be bothered, I don't care if I see it or not. The LT / incel storyline, along with Chief and his plastic baby is some of the lazy writing I've come across in a long while. Last 2 seasons you made Bosch into a generic drama. Such a shame.
Cosmos (2019)
First Contact
Considering the budget it's amazing what these guys have pulled off. There isn't much to the story, some of the dialog is too long and drawn out, the dramatic music is way over the top. The attempt to drum up a little bit of excitement at the end with the battery run was a little bit daft but who cares. I enjoyed this. It's like Contact without Jodie Foster but instead 3 middle aged English guys sitting in a Volvo in a middle of a field at night. Good sci-fi, a labour of love.
IO (2019)
So long and thanks for all the fish!
Sat down with my packet of haribos expecting a thoughtful romp but instead discovered the ultimate cure for insomnia! How on earth does trash like this get greenlit? I managed to get 70 mins in before flicking through the final scenes. This is why I will never pay for Netflix - pretentious rubbish
Sex Education (2019)
20 mins in & switched off
Ok should have given this more time but the whole setup was just terrible. uk accents, filmed in Wales, grey sky but carbon copy of US high school in the 80's. Problem is no one who went to school in the 80's in the UK ever experienced anything like this. Go watch the UK very of Teachers instead.
