A Great Film!
10 August 2005
Group, I haven't been in a cave for the past twenty-three years. Somehow, I just never saw this film. I think when it first came out there were other things going on in my life, whatever, and then over the years, as it became available on television, etc., I thought for some reason that it wouldn't be a good film...Not good! This film is GREAT! I saw it for the first time three days ago, and have watched it three additional times since then. I have to add my kudos for all the actors and actresses involved. They all did a fantastic job which led to a very believable movie, which, in my opinion, when you can do that, you have created a successful film. Hats off to Richard Gere, Debra Winger, (who is fantastic), Lou Gossett, Jr. and all the others! In my book, a truly great film!

The Waltons (1972–1981)

I truely believe that this program is my all-time favorite
13 September 2003
I truely believe that this program is my all-time favorite. I had been married two months when, on September 14, 1972, Earl Hamner Jr. came on the TV screen just prior to the first episode of "The Waltons" to explain the nature of the series. I remember well his dialogue of introduction and the episode that followed. "The Waltons" was well acted, well scripted and very down to earth and touching. I wasn't living during the Depression, but, my parents and my in-laws were and their stories and descriptions of the life back then during those trying times was exactly reinacted in the series "The Waltons". The writing and the cast are truely amazing as they literally make the characters portrayed come alive. I will always love the series, "The Waltons". I only wish they produced programs of this calibre today.

A great film, well written
2 October 2000
I know that many people now cannot remember the era of movies before they had such great special effects. I do...it was a time when the writing of the storyline had to carry the movie or the interest of the audience was lost. Sometimes this could happen in the first fifteen minutes of the film. But, other films that were well written could carry you along for the length of the movie on nothing but the plotline, no, or very few, special effects were involved at all. The High and the Mighty was just such a film. It will always remain one of my favorites. The acting was superb, the storyline, spellbinding, and the musical score was haunting...to this day it is one of the most remembered tunes to be whistled or played. A great movie and well worth watching!

"I felt this show was totally realistic..."
5 September 2000
"I felt this show was totally realistic. This program ran in the mid-seventies during the time that my wife and I were still newly married. This may have had an impact on why I feel toward the show like I do. However, I felt then as now, having grown up in a family myself, this has been the most realistically portrayed drama of an average family that I can remember seeing. I thoroughly enjoyed the program and only have good memories of it!"

"This movie has remained one of my alltime favorites.."
5 September 2000
"This movie has remained one of my all-time favorites. The combination of the scenery and story-line is one that is difficult to beat. Robert Redford is at his peak performance in the role of the mountain man, Jeremiah Johnson. Also, there's an air about it that is common to all people, i.e., wishing for a peaceful existence and being given instead a set of life circumstances that says if this is what you want, you must fight for it. I have only accolades for this movie. It is great!
