Midwives (2001 TV Movie)
For a TV-film, it's well-made.
13 May 2003
I read the book "Midwives" and because of that, I was curious to see the film. And I can't say that I'm disappointed. The film's strength is the solid and very good acting achievements. Especially Sissy Spacek is great in the lead role as Sibyl Danforth. She gets steady support from Peter Coyote, Alison Pill as well as Terry Kinney. The script and the directing is nothing outstanding, but it is without a doubt stable. While I did enjoy the film, I, at the same time, also got a feeling that it was rushed. It felt as though every scene was just a quick touch on something, and then it was over to something else. But on the whole, this film is worth seeing. It does deal with an interesting subject and it comes with a twist in the end. For a TV-film, it's well-made. I also recommend you to read the book.

The 5 Mrs. Buchanans (1994–1995)
Well written and well acted
27 February 2003
This show was great, and I don't understand why they didn't give it a chance. Instead they decided to cancel it after only 17 episodes. The whole cast was terrific and Beth Broderick and Eileen Heckart played their roles especially well. The episodes were always well written and well acted and to sum up; This show was hilarious, and it shouldn't have been cancelled so fast.

French Exit (1995)

Kinda good

This is hardly the best comedy ever made but it's kinda good and cute. All the actors are doing a good job and even though the movie is pretty predictable we accept it because the movie is well done.

Pretty good movie with a very good cast

Warning: Spoilers
***warning - spoilers*** It's to bad that this movie is so predictable because it has alot of good things except for that. The cast it great, especially Beth Broderick (Patricia Ellis), Adrienne Barbeau (Nancy) and Scott Vickaryous (Luke). Beth Broderick plays Patricia. She is a lawyer and the mother to Julie (Katie Gratson), who's boyfriend Luke has cancer. At first Broderick's character seem to be really harch and a little unfair and only seem to care about that her daughter get into a nice college but after a while we'll see that she is really a strong and caring person that has to fight both for her daughter and for Luke's mother Nancy. This movie is also sad and the last scene between Patricia and Julie is very touching. It's one of my favourite scenes and the one where Patricia tells Julie that even though she miss Luke she need to get on with her life and be strong. I also liked the scene when Patricia went to Nancy's boss and demended that Nancy would get her job back. I liked the strenght that she was showing and that she really fought for what was right. Anyway, as I said, there is to bad that the movie is so predictable. Since

Luke survives the cancer early in the movie, we understand that the cancer will come back later on, and that he then probably won't win over the cancer again. Except for that, I really liked this movie.

I really really liked this movie

This movie was very good. Mostely because of Beth Brodericks (Dr. Eva Warden) acting. The movie aren't so very predictable and that keeps the excitement going til the end. I really really liked this movie and I have seen it several times. Brodericks acting is great throughout the whole movie and she makes it worth seeing.
