If you’re bored or fed up why not play the IMDB drinking game to pass away your time having fun with friends;
Simply pick a user name that can be easily mocked to start with, then seek out a board that is inhabited by trolls who are only there to annoy people. Observe the trolls for a while to see what annoys them most, then when you’re ready post something that’s guaranteed to have them seething and irresistible to ignore. Continue to post random crap to continue scoring!
Award drinks for things such as;
Changing your username into an insult (always a favourite)
Calling you a homophobe (this happens randomly so be prepared)
Calling you gay
Double teaming you with another troll who posts immediately after while sycophantically agreeing
Calling you a retard
Calling you a paedophile
Calling you a fag
Mentioning their own penis
Mentioning their own penis again
Saying you were owned or something similarly pathetic
Posting one line contradictions that don’t really mean anything
Telling you that you have issues, or similar
Saying they have gay friends so they can’t be homophobic
Saying they have disabled friends so it’s ok to take the piss
Saying they have (insert ethnic/gender) so it’s ok to take the piss
Saying there is no God
Saying there is a God
Saying or inferring that God did everything without worrying about proof
Saying or inferring that God didn’t do everything because there is no proof
Saying the movie they like is better than yours because (insert crap here)
Saying your opinion is wrong! It’s an opinion deal with it.
Getting on their ignore list pretty much ends the game.
There's more but I'm sure you can list them yourself! Have fun :)

War of the Worlds: The Attack (2023)
A curious little film
Anyone going into this film expecting Hollywood types of action and effects is going to be very disappointed for sure. But if you are willing to lower your expectations you may find yourself pleasantly surprised. A modern retelling of the famous story seen through the eyes of 3 teenagers of today. The effects are passable, as good as we see in todays Dr Who for example, but the overall pace tends to drag a little, and the threat never seems to be as shocking as it should be for them to cope with. I have seen worse though. Rewatch? Probably not, but as a fan of the WOTW it was nice to see the many references of the locations taken from the book for once in a filmed version. Can't really recommend it, but also cant really dismiss it out of hand, can only say make up your own mind on this film.
The Ark (2023)
Does get better if you stay the course
I read quite a lot of reviews on here before taking the plunge on this series. Most to be honest were not very complimentary, but regardless I decided to try and make my own mind up. Is it top line sci fi? No! Is it cheap looking? Well yes in a lot of cases! Is it worth watching? Well yes again! It takes a good 3,4 maybe 5 episodes to really get going but then I found myself invested and entertained, and that is good enough for me. I have seen much worse, case in point the last few series of Dr Who for instance, just cringeworthy and awful. So if you are not too picky and fancy some daft sci fi to pass away the time it is worth giving a go. Left on a cliffhanger and I found myself wanting to see the conclusion. I hope they do one.
Li Xiao Long chuan qi (2008)
This was ok but really odd
Just binge watched this series over a week. It has its moments. The version I watched was in Cantonese with some frankly bizarre and often hilarious subtitles which sometimes barely made sense and there was definitely some anti west propaganda in there which was a shame. It was clear that this was low budget, but it was watchable. The booming "Bruce Lee, Bruce Lee, Bruce Lee" monotonous singing was just plain irritating with constant visits to the mute button needed throughout. Probably not accurate in most areas for a biography with much fanciful filler involved to enhance Lee's character but hey this was a Chinese production and he was their modern day hero so I can understand why they did it for their own home audience. I enjoyed the varied fight scenes, and the main actor who played Lee was a very good imitation, possibly the best i've ever seen to be honest. The rest of the cast were tolerable but somewhere near the quality of say a sub par afternoon soap opera in the west. This being said I did get involved with this series and it kept me interested so on one level it worked but it was a hard slog in places. I'm not going to quibble over the clear historical inaccuracies and the awful soundtrack though because there was enough there to keep me entertained. Once again if you get chance to see the subtitled version its hilarious in parts, for some reason Muhammad Ali becomes Mr Harrison King of all boxers and Chuck Norris becomes Mr Hoffman! What's that all about lol. Would I watch it all again, probably not, would I dip into some episodes to watch the fight scenes, yes they were the best thing about the series for me.
Solar Strike (2006)
Recycled Rubbish
This is a poor remake of Irwin Allens poor disaster movie Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea. All the same ingredients but done in a totally soulless way. The acting is so wooden it would not look out of place on Gerry Andersons Thunderbirds. I thought that they stopped making rubbish like this back in the 70's. Obviously not! IMDb says I must post at least 10 lines of text in this comment, but its difficult to type anything that is just not negative about this movie.
Basically I just cant be bothered its not worth it! so! Rubbish! Rubbish! Rubbish!
Waste of time!
Torchwood (2006)
Should have been so much better!
This show has so much potential. Promoted as an "adult" sci fi drama, specifically targeting an older audience that have grown up with Dr Who. While its undeniable that there was plenty of "adult" action this was handled in a truly juvenile and voyeuristic manner.
Intelligent thought provoking science fiction this is not. Soap opera this definitely is. As a first series perhaps we should not expect too much, but after watching the new Dr Who one has to wonder if the series should have been better. Poor writing, huge plot holes and inconsistencies abound. Fast food sci fi, soon devoured and instantly forgotten! Style over substance!
Personally I would have preferred to see less "adult" sci fi, and more "mature adult sci fi".
Cmon RTD and co, not all of your audience are pre pubescent Buffy the Vampire/Hollyoak fans. Hopefully the second series will become the special series that we all deserve.
