When Thanos...
29 October 2023
The new species must have had suffered the losses when Thanos snipped his fingers in Infinity War.

Maybe it wasn't necessary because everybody went on after Endgame but I can't believe that such a monstrous event shouldn't play a role in the discussions about preparing for war, that it seems to have no affect or isn't mentioned t all. Just my thoughts...

At least it would have been interesting to hear how the new species had had taken it and it could have been one more motivation for them to distrust the surface.

This is my only point, everything else had been said by other reviewers.

Memory eternal for Chadwick Boseman. Very sad.

Master of Puppets! 🤘
5 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Hell, did it good to hear Metallica's Master of Puppets! With a BC Rich Warlock!!! Should have been something from Slayer, ha ha.

The thing with Max's ressurection: I hope there is some big idea behind this and not just cheap writing.

Great finale. Made me weep. Noah Schnapp and Brett Gelman are extraordinary.

Very well done
6 January 2022
The actors did an amazing job. I had the reeling I participated in that meeting and forgot it was not real! 👍

The picture is very well done (I had to pause it a lot to catch up with the multitasking, but I enjoyed it, because this, too, shows how we drown in information).

If this movie helps at least one person, to re-consider or at least reflect on their behaviour, then bravo!

Thanks to the creators, I can see that you believe in and love what you do! Kudos.

My sympathy...
3 January 2022
... is with Jun Lin, his family, and every family which has lost beloved ones to violent crimes. It is them and activities in memory of their beloved ones who should get more public attention and screen time.

The Walking Dead: Here's Negan (2021)

Excellent Smeagol/Gollum association
7 April 2021
Are these the same writers as in the last episodes? Wow.

They managed a complexity in Negan's character that is very hard to swallow and I still do not fully understand his full transformation to becoming the secr leader and the so-called redemption. And as per consequences... he has still very much blood on his hands, even cunnecessary" deaths... I am very troubled, and that's a sign that this episode hit deeply! Very well done!

(And again there goes one preciousss up in flames...)

In dubio pro reo
25 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I see the ratings to either at 1 or at 10. I like movies and episodes who provoke these extremes. They have their own magic. Or maybe not, ha ha. But in dubio Pro reo. 10 points from me. Do not forget that Ezekiel also acted great being... someone else 😉

PS: give it some time Maybe things will unfold (like WandVision?).

Learning from the actual Corona pandemic
21 March 2021
All has been said about this very good episode: the actors (Ross is a top actor!), the story, the darkness...Kudos!

It transfers the current "we are more and more wasted and despaired" situation of the real word into TWD The epidemic and its affects is the best teacher for a virus infested world like TWD. The makers could observe and transfer more - anyway, this is what artists have always done through the centuries.

Again, Kudos and thanks a lot to everyone who contributed to this episode.

one more point...
10 February 2021
...is that maybe too much emphasis is given on a witness observation. She can't remember seeing the car which led to the conclusion it was moved. If her memory fails her, the car would have been found exactly where Mrs Romain left it. Could that be also a possibility

And: I stopped reading peoples' faces. Everyone reacts different in grief.., si I can't really "expect" a certain kind of reaction. (Especially on camera.) I wish the very best to the children of Mrs Romain 😢

In some points good
5 November 2020
All is said already in the reviews. What crossed my mind: although the Latin grammar seems to be correct, I miss Schwanzus Longus, sorry, Biggus Dickus, and the "thwowing to the floor"... ;-) Sorry, series is ok, but I can't get really warm with it.

Plays more with sympathies and emotions.

Ok, it turns the interest to this case.

But the documentary is nothing to base an opinion upon. Of course it is interesting to see how the world sees this case (we have never left medieval...), feelings. What hit me most was the interrogation. It reminded me of "In the name of the Father".

So, I searched for more information and found the book of Douglas Preston, "The forgotten killer". In this book, it is the analysis of John Douglas which seems most analytic and believable. At least plausible and rational, based on the data given. So, I believe that Rafaelle and Amanda are innocent of this crime and that it was a burglary gone wrong. But more than that I feel deeply sorry for the family of Meredith and all families who have been violantly robbed of their children.

Three things outstanding:
28 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
  • the opening scene with Adrian is very well made.

  • the abrupt change of Ritchie from "yipee ki yay, motherfu" to staring into the deadlights. PERFECT (not scary, but just perfect.

  • the especially disappointing acting of McAvoy

That's all I take from this movie. Rest I forgot already... :-/

Interesting
26 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In opposite to many who (understandably) find it slow, I don't mind if it is mid season finale or not. The story counts. Let's give Vigil a chance and not judge too fast...

Judgment. A priest commits a murder, a planned one. That shocked me more than the end of the episode. This is not self defense and as they had signed theirConstitutin, it would have been nice to honour it (trial) and thus set an opposition to the savagery of the Whisperers. What he did was kind of "let my wrath prevail my justice"...

Justice. I would like to know from where the lines come from, Gabriel says at the eulogy for Siddiq (He gave Himself, because His world has no reason and no justice - something like that. Sounded more like Nietzsche than the Bible).

Unfortunately nobody honoured Siddiq by quoting something from the Quran. It would have closed as it had started with him.

Anyway, this episode reminded me more of the first seasons. I rather enjoyed it this time. I don't mind it being told slowly.

Last but not least, I would really like to emphasize the actors playing Aaron and Eugene! Great acting.

All said, except...
19 November 2019
Am I wrong or was there only one undead in this episode? At least she was a persiflage for the title. The way she was hit against the tree was kind of an ... eye opener.

Sorry for my sarcasm. I remember how dangerous and interesting the undead had been (season 1, e.g. Morgan's wife) and how the tragedy and sadness of this unlife was shown. Remember Jenner's wife?

But then, it was Frank Darabont directing...

Negan a pillar, but else... lukewarm
13 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
What fascinated me most was the old Negan look, after Beta (I tried the Greek character but regards it to be invalid) pushes him to the ground.

But overall I think of how a Governor would have handled the Whisperer situation. That shoes me how weak the communities are and would normally have been wiped out. On the other hand the potential of the Whisperers wasn't used at all, although the silent, psychopathy of Alpha (I tried the Greek character...) offers so many possibilities which would dwarf all preceeding villains... . She was so efficient without talking much. Instead, she is standing in the woods. Without talking much.

Both sides would have followed a different strategy, because both sides know they cannot coexist, especially after the pikes. At least on the communities' side they have educated people...sigh

Yeah, bla bla. Let's end it simple: Negan was diabollically cool! 😎

What a promising restart could look like
26 October 2019
No redemption for Negan. Let Negan be still Negan. Let him kill em all and start the show anew with him in the lead, as a new (anti-) Rick. Alone in the beginning like the wandering Governor. Get rid of the old crap and start fresh. Katharsis.

Unorthodox... :-/
19 September 2019
Neither Orthodox nor Catholic. Cheap copy of Hollywood exorcism crap. 2 points for the landscapes, images of Romanian villages and the beautiful Orthodox icons.

If you want to see a more Orthodox movie with an exorcism (where it is not the central item of the movie), watch "Ostrov".

Hell, how well....
18 April 2019
Oooooooohhhhhh, epiphany, I got it! In a very, very subtle way in this one they wanted to make the undead to be the good ones we like and the living the bad ones we hate. Hell, did they well! I felt sorry for almost every zombie who was taken down.

Grrrrreat idea!

Em, .... no? Oh.

Short winter
3 April 2019
I personally don't care if it is a finale or not. It is a story to be continued. Everything has been said already but the other reviewers. Only thought on this episode: it would have been better to have shown more episodes in winter time. There could have been more to tell and taking this missing time of the year much more serious.

One thought on the whole show: I miss the pilot's power. I miss Dale. And I miss Shane, the Punisher ;-) I miss crazy moments like Michonne's first appearance.
