The Last of Us: Endure and Survive (2023)
A huge improvement...
A huge improvement
NO SPOILERS
Episode 5 Endure and Survive brings back the tense and fast paced tone found in various scenes in prior episodes, while providing a balance throughout the episodes with emotional tones and themes. In this episode, it continues on the cliffhanger featuring Henry and Sam, and we see them in a much bigger role than their two second cameo in the previous episode, as well as seeing Perry and Kathleen again.
While many people disliked the introduction of Kathleen and Perry as original characters, I felt it brought more depth to the rebels, who weren't featured in much detail in the games. Many people also shared their dislikes with Melanie Lynskey's performance, criticising her soft and "un-frightening" demeanor and voice, however I liked this, as it goes against the cliche of all antagonists being callous and rough.
This episode has much more narrative and story then the two previous episodes and was a great continuation of the adventure of Joel and Ellie in the last episode.
10/10.
The Last of Us: Please Hold to My Hand (2023)
Please Hold on to my Hand
A fairly solid episode ...
(SPOILER FREE)
Featuring guest performances from Melanie Lynskey and Jeffrey Pierce ( who played Tommy in part 1 and part 2 of the games), we are introduced to a solid, and far more riveting episode compared to the more emotional and sombre tone seen in the last. I heavily enjoyed this episode as it provided both complex and mature themes as well as showing some much deserved (and possibly needed) character development for both Ellie and Joel, who didn't receive much development in Long, Long Time (episode 3) due to heavy focus on both Bill and Frank instead.
While there was heavy criticism for the narrative choices and differences in the previous episode, I am glad that the creators chose to make original characters for this episode as it affects the events that occur. Both Jeffrey Pierce and Melanie Lynskey gave great performances for this episode and are contenders for best guest drama actor/actress at the Emmy's along with Anna Torv (Tess), Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett (Bill and Frank).
9/10.
House of Gucci (2021)
Addressing the rumours ...
After watching this Amazing Masterpiece , I would like to name the flaws and the pros of an oscar ridden movie ...
Father, Son and House of Gucci - The Countess from AHS.
American Horror Stories: Game Over (2021)
What the actual ..?
Somehow, The AHS creators not only ruin a spinoff show, but instead the whole universe by trying to break the fourth wall and connect with the viewers. They decided to ruin two recurring cast members from the original universe and ruin them, with oen not even getting enough screentime. If AHS S10 is not perfect, then that is not a proper apology for this garbage being produced. And why is there a second season of American Horror Stories coming?
Yours Truly,
A disappointed AHS Fan.
