Hit-Monkey (2021)
Dont waste you time
The animation is poor (there are fan animations better than this) and the fight scenes are dull with gore being used to mask the lackluster artwork and designs. All the characters are unlikable and the story is just a generic revenge plot. Sudeikis just wont shut up. There is no reason for me to recommend this to anyone.
You can tell the studio didnt believe in this product by the production quality alone so why should I waste my time on it as well. Go watch Invicible, Castlevania or try anime.
Superman: Red Son (2020)
Woke wonder woman in the building
If you didn't read the comic movie is ok nothing spectacular same old dcau animation n sound design, the concept will keep you intrigued. If you read the comic you gonna hate this. They rushed it, changed the end and made wonderman woke.
Also the good natured humble superman who would stop talking the president to go save a cat in a tree is turned to a butchering dictator, he killed Stalin!!! Because of this we dont see a communist regime run by good man which turns sour though he had good intentions who realises he was trying to be god then lets man take over.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Penny Dooby doo!!
This was a Scooby-Doo episode stretched out for 2 hours. I was expecting Steven King n I got ash from evil dead. Classic over used jump scares, clowns and zombies. That being said if go in looking for horror the movie sucks but if u got in for laughs it's a thrill ride
Cannon Busters (2019)
For a kick starter is kinda ok
This show is for people who dont usually watch anime or new comers. Its an adventure to save the kingdom following a mix of characters , some really annoying, across a wasteland. This anime combines the settings of Trigun and Cowboy bebop, The MC is influenced by Spike you can even hear the english voice trying to imitate Steven Blum, with heavy influences from Studio Trigger. This anime isnt for regular anime fans as it brings nothing we havent seen before and the execution is average its a story we all know.. The animation and 3D go really well together which we dont see often and the opening song is AWSOME. With the quality of anime being released in Japan i dont think this show stands a chance
Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
Typical war movie but this time the hero doesnt use a gun
This movie was made by a lover of war movies and it really shows. It ticks all the boxes of a typical war movie loud and mean drill sergaent, guy getting bullied in barracks, the bully having a change of heart at the end, red head/blonde lover waiting back home, action set pieces ripped from private ryan you know the usual.
Its selling point was the guy didnt want to use a gun or kill and his superiors gave him hell for it. Looking back at it the superiors were really worried and trying to protect the guy even as far as trying to get him court marshalled to keep him of the field (yes there was a millitary court scene, few good men). I remember playing call of duty 1 remember one part where there where not enough guns and the play was just given bullets n told to run behind some one with a gun so if he died i got a gun n had extra ammo we were just cannon fodder. I admire the US Army for the lengths they went to stop him and the lengths he went to not go to war to kill. im gonna read the book to see if it delves deeper into the battle of ideaologies.
Overall this movie was average.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
That was fun but...
As a marvel movie Spider-man FFH does the Job and follows the usual formula self aware jokes, easter eggs, hints of upcoming movies and events etc, final fight filled with cut and paste goons you know it ticks the boxes.
As a spider-man movie not so much. Spider-mans main theme is with great power comes great responsibility and this spidey is so irresponsible!!! This might come from the lack of the uncle Ben dying because he didnt stop a crime even though he had the power to and realizing the sacrifices n price of being a hero.
This felt like those Disney movies where a high schooler is a part time ninja or something but on a bigger budget. (Spider-man 2 raimi still the best)
Bokura no (2007)
Saddest anime ever
This is probably the most depressing anime ever. Most of the sad anime listed are there cos most of the anime are happy till something happens (death) but this one is sad from the start with tweens dealing with certain death, abuse and loneliness the whole way with the fate of universe on the line. Its Evangelion if every fight was your last.
Oh and the opening song is amazing
Black Cat (2005)
If you loved cowboy bebop
This show is a cowboy bebop copy cat down to origin stories and some episodes. but imitating the greats is not always bad especially when you do it well and add your own flavours with the resolution and character arc of the lead character inspiring as he finds himself n learns to forgive. Its still one of my early favourites and the dub is great. The opening is one of the best ever
Yôkoso jitsuryoku shijô shugi no kyôshitsu e (2017)
Dont believe the hype
This is one of those anime you expect somethings gonna happen and nothing does. It looks like its gonna be special than you realize half way this is just another high school harem anime with an OP Main character, Tsundere, shy hot girl and ..FAN SERVICE. The first episode present the premise and creates tension but before they do anything to address the problem the show is over. SKIP IT
Baki the Grappler (2001)
Fun first season trash second
I watched this one in order to gain a better understanding of the world of the Netfix 2018 one. The first season was good and fun dont take it seriously it was like Kenichi but more violent. Its the usual shounen get stronger become the strongest bla bla bla The main villian was introduced and plot presented become the strongest. Enjoyed all the fights and the animation and sound were bearable.
Season 2 began with the worst opening ive ever heard in an anime and i knew this was gonna pretty. A generic tournament arc began with more characters i didn't care about. They tried to rush squeeze in back stories but i stopped paying attention when one guys fight was shorter then his story. It was like they blew all the money on the first season and didnt know they had make a second season so they scraped some cash and tried to paste together a series. Animation dropped to like 20fps and they were just cuting too many corners. In one fight a guy gets punched so hard he turns into a gif and spins 3 times in the same spot before landing. This part I give 4/10
So just watch the the first season (avoid the 90s OVA) and read the manga for this part if you need to learn more.
Us (2019)
This is the most overated horror ever
I dont know if i watched the same movie as the internet but this movie to me wasn't scary just stupid. I spent most the movie shouting at the stupidity of the actors and the script. There were like zero scares the whole movie ive seen more blood watching dead pool. The funiest part was when the double first spoke i didnt know it was supposed to be scary. The twist at the end was so unbelievable and stupid i almost walked out. I saw it coming from the trailer but when they explain what happening you shake your head.
