Breaking Bad: Pilot (2008)
Season 1, Episode 1
10/10
One of the greatest pilots of all time
31 August 2019
Everything is perfect about the opening to Breaking Bad. The first scene catches your attention, the impeccable acting by Cranston keeps you watching, and the wonder how it got to that point sucks you in. Perfectly paced, written and acted. A wonderful start for one of the greatest shows of all time.

Turned (I) (2015)
10/10
Excellent take on the genre, well put together and exciting. A complete film.
23 September 2015
I have been a fan of Chris' work for over 10 years now and he never ceases to amaze with his creativity. That is especially true of this film. We are introduced to Jack, our hero, right away in peril. The opening scene grabs you and keeps you hooked throughout, it makes you want to see what happens next. Monty is an exceptional villain, a classic one but not clichéd. I don't want to spoil much, but I will just say, the whole film is filled with tension and action. When there is a quiet scene, it is written quite beautifully and masterfully acted. It's tough to say if this Chris' best film, only because he has made some stuff over the years that completely blows Hollywood productions out of the water, but it's easily in the top 5. All of the actors did a great job as well, and the locations were perfect. Chris has such a creative eye. In conclusion, this film gets 10 stars from me because it kept me engaged and entertained the whole way through and it's easy to tell hard work and dedication went into producing it. Some class A filmmaking.

A Brilliant and Satisfying conclusion to the best movie franchise in the world!
19 July 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The End of an Era.

Well here I am, writing a review for the final Harry Potter Film. I knew this day would come for many years now but I am still in a very melancholy mood while writing this. The Harry Potter series was my childhood. I was 10 years old when the first movie came out, and I am now 20. I feel like I have grown up right alongside these actors and to finally be saying goodbye to them, is like saying goodbye to a friend, and also saying goodbye to my childhood.

One thing I have to point out before anything else is the acting, it was just Oscar worthy. Dan, Emma and Rupert have grown into wonderful young actors and they all have very bright futures ahead. Alan Rickman, as stated by Daniel Radcliffe, does in fact give the performance of his career, he was incredible. The real star of this movie though, was Ralph Fiennes, that man is one of the best actors I have ever had the pleasure of watching. He brings Lord Voldemort to life in an impressive way and every time he was on screen I was completely mesmerized.

The Film itself, was truly epic. From the beginning of Snape peering out over the Hogwarts students(a very intense shot, great work on that camera angle), to the very touching epilogue, this film gets it right. Out of all the Potter movies, this one seems perfect and relates to the book extremely well. The effects are visually stunning, and the music is perfect.

I don't want to give too many plot details away, so I'll end my review here. This film is brilliant, not only the best Potter movie, but possibly the best film of the year. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried during the end, during the epilogue scene, with that wonderful score playing. It truly is amazing, I can't say enough about it. When the movie was over, my audience cheered and applauded, it was well deserved.

Scream 4 (2011)
8/10
After ten years the 4th Scream film does not disappoint
15 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I DON'T THINK THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT SOME OF YOU WOULD CLASSIFY AS A "SPOILER."

When you think of the 4th sequel in a horror series, most people would groan or roll their eyes, but the Scream series is different. I have always been a big fan of these movies, the first one is a classic and the next two were worthy sequels. They aren't like other scary movies, where nameless characters get slaughtered by an unstoppable killer. The Scream movies feature real characters who you connect with and the 4th film is no exception.

Sidney, Dewey and Gale, the 3 survivors from the original trilogy are back and it is so good to have them back, to revisit them after all these years. Neve Campbell doesn't seem to age, she is such a beautiful woman and great actress. David Arquette is a treat to have as clumsy yet brave Dewey, and Courtney Cox does a wonderful job once again in portraying the ruthless Gale Weathers. The new characters feel real as well and the actors, most notably Hayden Panettiere, do a great job in bringing them to life. I was also thrilled to have Roger Jackson back as "The Voice," because it would not be a Scream movie without his chilling, "Hello Sydney." Seeing Sid go up against Ghostface again is so much fun to watch, especially for die hard fans of the series.

Now to the story, I thought it was good, funny and entertaining. At times it felt like it was moving a bit too fast but the writing to me was still very sharp, it brought the characters together in a way that felt real, not cheesy or far-fetched. There is plenty of great humor and references to other movies as well as the previous 3 Scream films. The opening, as always in this series is fantastic and scary. It is so good to see Ghostface back and doing what he does best. The kills in the movie are central to the plot and have just enough gore without going over the top. At times it is very intense and exciting.

Wes Craven also does a fantastic job, you can really see the direction he was taking the movie in.

Bottom line: If you are a fan of the Scream series, you will love this movie, it is another great chapter in the Scream saga. And even if you haven't seen the other movies, first of all, where have you been all these years? And second, it's a fun movie to see, a good slasher flick, unlike most of the other horror movies that get made these days. 10 years is a long time, but in my opinion, after seeing Scream 4, it was well worth the wait!!!

Justified (2010–2015)
10/10
Timothy Olyphant owns
20 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I've been a fan of Mr. Olyphant's for many years, ever since he was in Scream 2. I've followed his career closely and when I heard he was going to be starring in his own TV show, I was very excited. Justified has turned into my favorite show. First of all, the story-telling is fantastic. Whatever the episode may revolve around, is always done exceptionally well. Raylan Givens is such an easy character to root for, Timothy Olyphant plays him with class and style. All of the supporting cast is great as well, especially Walton Goggins. He is an extraordinary actor, him and Olyphant play off each other brilliantly. The writing is razor sharp, this show has some of the best dialog I have ever seen in a series. The humor in the series is very witty and well done. Justified also produces some great action ad gunfights. I don't want to give much away, go pick up the first season on DVD, you will be hooked! It's on FX which is a great place for it, and hopefully it can thrive there for many more years to come!

Nip/Tuck (2003–2010)
10/10
Extremely Smart and Crafty Series from Beginning to End
24 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I believe the tag-line for Nip/Tuck describes it best: "A Disturbingly Perfect Drama." That is exactly what Nip/Tuck is. From the very first "Tell me what you don't like about yourself," to the final time we Sean and Christian together, this series made an impression and paved the way for all great dramas after it. The writing, especially in season 2 but throughout the whole series is very witty and intelligent. The cast highlighted by Dylan Walsh and Julian Mcmahon are perfect in their roles and give many Emmy-worthy performances throughout the series. I don't want to give too much away but this show has it all. Drama, romance, humor, suspense and even some action. The first 3 seasons are incredible, almost nothing better on TV. Season 4 was very good, season 5 the show started to slip a bit and got kind of cheesy but is still good. Season 6 I felt it got back on its feet and finished in a spectacular way. The ending was beautiful. If you're looking for an intelligent series this is the one for you. The premise is easy enough, two plastic surgeons who also happen to be best friends working in Miami and dealing with daily life and family drama, but it goes way beyond all that and is truly one of the greatest series of the last 20 years!

Fantastic film filled with class and brilliance
23 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I went to the movies last night with a group of friends. I didn't care what we saw but one of them picked "The Kings Speech." I got to say I had heard great reviews about it but wasn't particularly interested in seeing it, it honestly seemed dull to me.

Well it turns out that it was a fantastic film. An extremely powerful movie filled with class and excellent acting performances. Colin Firth was sensational as was Geoffrey Rush. It was a really wonderful movie and very inspiring. It also was a bit funny at times. Michael Gambon also did a wonderful job as King George V.

A tip though, do not go to see it at 10PM at night like I did when you've already had a full day because it does move slow at times. I honestly probably would've enjoyed it more if I saw it during the day. If all you want is guns going off and cars exploding, this isn't the movie for you, but if you want a well told story with amazing actors, this is what you want to see, an easy 9/10 for me.

Supernatural (2005–2020)
10/10
A true treat for fans of the horror and Sci-Fi genre
23 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Supernatural is one of those shows that comes around every 20 to 30 years and is a true hit and has a real cult following. And for very good reason. The story arc throughout the seasons and for every season individually is very strong and intelligent. It has great writing and has awesome views on the popular monsters of our culture, Vampires, Wearwolves and such. The two leads, Sam and Dean Winchester are great characters, really well-written and outstandingly acted by Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. Jeffrey Dean Morgan was perfect casting for their father John Winchester. I don't want to give too many details away for the viewers coming into the show but Sam and Dean are brothers who were raised in the life of hunting monsters and evil creatures because their mother was killed by a demon when they were very young. The show starts out with Sam out of hunting and at college, it doesn't last long though as Dean comes to him and tells him their father has gone missing on a hunting mission and he needs help finding him. There are many twists and turns throughout the course of the series, the relationship between Sam and Dean is the true highlight of the show. There's also plenty of great action and suspense as well as hilarious humor. If you haven't seen the show yet, please pick it up and give it a shot, you will not be disappointed. The show is a well deserved 10 out of 10 because it has all the ingredients and making of a great show.

Brilliant return for Gibson
31 January 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I'm only 19 years old but Mel Gibson has always been one of my favorite actors. So it was no surprise I was thrilled when I heard he was coming out with a new movie. I saw the previews for this film about two months ago and was pumped. When the credits finally rolled on the movie, I was not disappointed. This is a truly intense, emotional and engaging story. Mel goes all out and proves he hasn't lost his touch after all these years. I cheered through the movie, cried and laughed. Mel comes out with some great one-liners and kicks some major ass. He has always been one of the best at crying in movies and every time he cries, I get choked up, and it continued with this movie. My vote is without a doubt, 10/10, go see it, if you are a Mel Gibson fan and even if you aren't, check it out. My Dad and brother both loved the movie as well. It has great writing, good action, a wonderful score and some brilliant performances.

Sons of Anarchy (2008–2014)
10/10
One of the best shows of the decade!
27 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Sons of Anarchy is a top notch show about a biker gang in a small town. It is one of the best written shows on TV right now, the characters are well thought out, the acting is amazing and the directing is great. From personal problems, to dealing with gangs, to dealing with the law, this show stretches the limit, and does it brilliantly. Now in it's second season, the show is at a very high point in it's young life, here's to hoping the 7 seasons planned, come to light.

The best characters are Jax and Clay, they play well off of each other and Katy Sagal is great as Gemma. I will be watching this series hopefully for a long time, and I hope it continues to do well because you'd be crazy not to like this show.

Season 7, Episode 24
10/10
A great ending to a truly phenomenal season
20 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Where do I start? After waiting for season 7 to grace our television screens for 20 months, it is gone by already. I enjoyed this season so much and I believe it was one of the greatest seasons 24 has ever had. The plot lines were great, and the acting was outstanding, Kiefer really showed us everything he had this year, Carlos Bernard showed us new acting depths when Tony turned evil, he played it so awesome, Annie Wersching was fantastic(and hot I might add) and I can't wait to see what they do with Renee next season. Cherry Jones really made the female President work. The finale was great going with more drama then action, any scene between Jack and Tony was amazing and has been all year, the scene where Tony confronts Alan Wilson was the best scene of the entire episode. And the end where Kim comes in to save a dying Jack, just great stuff, the only complaint I have is that I have to wait until January for Day 8. I hope this show and it's actors get some recognition at the Emmys this year!!

A fantastic thrill ride! Neeson is at his best!
1 February 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I just got back from seeing this movie and all I can say is Wow. What an adventure this movie provided. The suspense and action was non-stop and perfectly executed. Liam Neeson, whom I'm not used to seeing in a "full on action" movie was perfect in this role. You could see the hurt on his face in certain scenes as well as the importance of a situation and the love for his daughter. I've always liked him and felt he was a great actor but he was off the hook in this movie. I don't want to give away any of the plot so all I will say is, this is one of the best movies I have ever seen and if you haven't seen it yet, get out there and see it because it packs a wallop and is a very fun and satisfying movie to see!

Decent, enjoyable but missing three things: Imhotep, Ardeth Bay, and the real Evie
7 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this for the first time a few nights ago and I have to say I enjoyed it. The first two were way better, and this one was fun but it was missing three major players that made the first two movies great. First, Imhotep, now I know if they made another movie with him, it might have been repetitive but I can't really see a great Mummy movie without him. That brings me to Ardeth Bay, the protector of Imhotep's tomb, a fantastic character from the first two movies played exceptionally well by Oded Fehr. He was one of the best characters of the series and he and Rick made an awesome team. The absence of him, really hurt this move. The main problem this movie had was no Rachel Weiz. Maria Bello is a fine actress, I have seen her in a few things, her most notable performance being in "A History of Violence" and she's good, but she over-acted in this movie. She was trying to be Rachel Weiz and she most certainly is not. The makers of this movie mad a terrible mistake in not casting Rachel Weiz this time around. All in all, a good movie, with funny dialog and good action. It's an enjoyable adventure but if you're expecting a Mummy movie as good as the first two, you will be disappointed.

Really good, highlighted by Tom Selleck
16 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
My father had been recommending this movie to me for a long time because he had seen it in the theaters back in 1989. Well, I was glad to finally see it today because I was blown away. This movie was fantastic and Tom Selleck was real good, I think this is one of his best performances ever. And the movie pisses you off because you want to see the bad guys get what they deserve so much! All the supporting actors were good in their roles as well. This can very well be a family movie too depending on what you let your kid see, there's some violence but not too much and there's some language but not a lot and there is no nudity. And the ending was perfect! So my recommendation is a must see, especially if you enjoy revenge movies and like Tom Selleck!! 10 stars!

24....where to start!
30 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
24 has to be one of the best shows to ever hit TV screens! I started watching in July of 2005, I was fourteen and bought the first season for my dad. Well, we started watching and we were hooked from the beginning. The damn show is like a drug, we finished season 1 quickly which still is the best, nothing like it!! And bought season 2 shortly after, we were once again taken for a thrill ride as season 2 just about matched season 1. We finished season 2 by the end of August and I had to wait about two weeks before we got season 3 and I was dying with the Palmer cliff-hanger! We got season 3 and at first I didn't care for it, until the last 13 episodes. Season 3 got on a roll and just took off, the hotel storyline being one of the best! We were done with season 3 by November and had to wait for season 4. My brother,(who had missed all the episodes because he fell asleep, he was 9) had to get caught up. So while waiting for season 4 we watched seasons 1-3 over again. In that same time period I got my best friend into the show and whenever we would hang out we would watch 24. Then when season 4 came out, my brother was caught up and we all watched season 4 and loved it. We felt something was missing from season 4 but when Tony returned, it was back! We were all ready, including my friend by the time season 5 premiered and were all blow away by the premiere. We weren't used to waiting a week in between episodes though. Season 5 lived up to our expectations and was fantastic!! Then season 6 came and wasn't as good as all the others but still was entertaining and better then almost anything else on television! In between season 5 and 6 I got my mom into the show, so now I had seen seasons 1-3, 4 times, season 4, 3 times and season 5 twice. Then after season 6 I re-watched it with my mom so she is currently caught up. Back in September I got my cousin into the show and he is now up to episode 18 of season 5 and loves the show, so it goes without saying Im a huge fan after sitting through all the seasons so many times! The actors are all amazing in their roles, Kiefer Sutherland truly was born to play Jack Bauer and gives his all every time! Carlos Bernard was terrific as Tony, Dennis Haysbert-If Palmer was real, our country would be so much better off, Reiko Ayelsworth, Xander Berkely, Sarah Clarke, Glenn Morshower, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver, Elisha Cuthbert, James Morrison, I could go on and on. In closing, if you have not seen this show, go get it, rent it, whatever, definitely watch it, but you must start from the beginning, and I'm warning you, it is very addicting, suspenseful, surprising and is not afraid to kill off characters you love! I am looking forward to season 7 so much and cannot wait! This show has its flaws but is as close to perfect as it gets!

Mediocre movie made great by Pachino
2 May 2008
I went to see this movie with high expectations despite all the bad reviews I'd been hearing. No matter what anyone else thought, the movie looked good to me. I usually try not to listen to critics because it seems all the movies I like, the critics hate, and all the movies I hate, "Cloverfield" anyone? The critics love but my thought was The movie wasn't too bad, its very underrated but I can see the problems people have with it. I might have thought it wasn't that great but Al Pachino was fantastic. This was one of his best performances since "Scarface" in my opinion. He still has it. The plot was a little predictable but not entirely and there wasn't enough action but it was easy to overlook that with the great work of Al Pachino!!

Amazing!!
16 February 2008
I am 17 years old. I started watching this with my mom when I was six, before I even understood it. I just watched it to spend time with her. As the years went on i understood it more and loved it more. I watched the last three seasons on prime-time and was so sad when it ended. Around 2002, I got my best friend into the show and we watched them in order on DVD from season one, all the way to season 10. Let me just say, this show never got old, the story's were great, the show was hilarious, the cast worked so great off each other, the acting was outstanding, and the ending was perfect!!!!! The was amazing from beginning to end and I still own all 10 seasons and watch them all the time. I was sad for Matt Leblanc to see "Joey" not work out but it never could have been as great as Friends was!!!!

Unbelievably bad!
23 January 2008
Warning: Spoilers
MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!! I had been looking forward to this movie since May. When I finally saw it on January 23rd, I was stunned. Stunned at how high my expectations were because this movie was really bad. The hand-held camera got so annoying, I was almost sick at the end. There was no satisfaction, everyone died at the end. Well, maybe not but they don't lead you to believe anything else because at the beginning it said the government found the camera. SOUNDS LIKE THEY ALL DIED!!!! the party scene at the beginning was way too long, and I had no clue what was going on because it was so dark. The only reason I didn't give it a 1 was because of the actors. They were good in their roles, playing the scared and freaked out part. Also the monster wasn't too bad. But overall i expected a lot more from J.J. Abrahms, someone who created hit shows such as "Alias" and "Lost". I was very disappointed with this movie and I wish I could get my money back!!!!!

WOW! Number Five Lives up to the hype!
15 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was excellent!! The story was great and it related to the book amazingly! The acting was great, Daniel Radcliffe and the rest have really grown into remarkable actors. OK, a few scenes were left out, like McGonagall being stunned and Harry trashing Dumbeldores office and Ron on the Quidditch team, but you can't exactly put all 870 pages into a non boring movie. Non-readers of the book would never want to sit for that long. I must say I love the books and the movies and this one was remarkable. The action and special effects were great! So, I must say even if you are not a Potter fan, go see this movie if you want to get lost in an incredible, breathtaking, and well acted movie!

What an awesome show!!
24 November 2006
This show is without a doubt one of the greatest shows ever to be on television. I mean the acting is great, the suspense, the drama, the comedy, it has everything, and with such a simple story: A plane crashed on an island. The characters are great and Evangeline Lilly is HOT!!!!!! Matthew Fox once again shows us what a great actor he is, Josh Holloway is so great, Jorge Garcia is Hilarious, I could go on and on. Also, the unexpected plot twists, the back stories of the characters, the music that is at the end of every episode. J.J. Abrahms has once again proved what an excellent writer and producer he is. I mean this is better than ALIAS, and I loved ALIAS. Whoever isn't watching this show, should definitely consider getting the DVD's and watching it, because they are missing something great. This show could possibly be the best show in television history!!
