Night of the Vampire Hunter (2000)
An interesting low budget vampire feature
I recently saw Nachtschatten and reviewed it for horror fanzine Firelight Shocks, along with also interviewing its director, Ulli Bujard. If it hadn't been through the fanzine, I might well never have seen Nachtschatten - it's hardly received any coverage over here - and that would have been a pity, as I found it to be a very interesting low/no-budget vampire film.
The film uses humour to get away with its budget restraints and has a very grainy appearance that fits in perfectly with the downbeat vampires portrayed in it. It might not be to everyone's taste (if you're looking for a horror film with a glossy and polished finish, you're going to be disappointed), but if you're after something a bit more underground, made by a group of horror fans who wanted to put together their own feature, it'll be right up your street or morgue.
