Patrik 1,5 (2008)
Bad movie to please the most sensitive
I honestly tried harder than normal to watch the finale, the script is outrageously bad and I'll explain point-to-point why.
At first, they construct Sven's character (insensitive, egotistical, violent) as Goran's (generous, sensitive, empathic) disfellowshipper, the personification of the bad person and Goran is his counterpoint.
As it comes to an end, we are surprised by a betrayal on the part of the Sven, which causes Goran to have a fit of rage and more violent. Still, in the last minutes of the film, the writers found it coherent to him return to the marriage with the man who betrayed and had no emotional responsibility for him. Although we do not hope for them to be together.
I do not question the writers' decision to find a family for Patrick, we felt Goran and him were approaching but there would be no real reason to keep him there, but even in this they sin when he returns home in the closing minutes.
Still, there were several loose ends during the plot. We do not know why the boy ran all the way through the movie, there was no detail of that. The only information we get from the neighbor is that she cheats on her husband who will have surgery, nothing more.
Finally, Goran's passability and patience when he suffers from various homophobic attacks is irritating.
If at the beginning of the plot, the attentions are with Sven, in the end, they are with Goran that did not know to take advantage. Not to mention that the passage from one focus to the other was embarrassing (with Sven getting drunk and coming home later, soon, they did not meet).
This is one of those films that was well directed, fairly well acted, but the script spoiled everything. Won a show by the nice colors.
If you have nothing to do at home and want to waste your time on a nasty movie, I suggest watching Patrik Age 1.5, otherwise it might be best to watch a really interesting movie.
