Reasonably entertaining
13 March 2020
18 episodes of David Nixon's Magic Box survive from 1970/71, and 9 have been lost. The surviving ones are available on a Network DVD. The earlier episodes featuring Anita Harris as David's assistant are entertaining and the picture quality surprisingly good, but the later ones in which Ali Bongo acts as David's sidekick under the guise of his lackey "Alistair" got rather irritating to me after a while. You can only have so many magic tricks, hence some of the big illusions are done more than once over the series such as the "stretching a person" and "assistants revenge" illusions. Each episode features guest performers.

Revenge on the Highway (1992 TV Movie)
7/10
Good performance by Stacy Keach

I have watched this film a few times and was impressed by Keach's solid performance as Claude Sams. The film is based on the true story of Claude's son Paul having been killed by a renegade trucker while changing a tyre on the highway. I found it pulled at my heartstrings in a compelling way.

The part of the film where Claude extracts his revenge on the highway is entertaining but might be a little contrived. This film has had some bad reviews so I wanted to balance it with a positive one.

The film largely belongs to Stacy Keach, the supporting actors' performances are of varying quality but on the whole I find it an entertaining and riveting film.
