Sick and distasteful, but oh so funny
17 November 2006
Really, the last movie comes nowhere near this one. The stuff done in this film really does push the limits of censorship, but as sick and distasteful as it, is you'll be pissing yourself laughing most of the way through. Hooks piece cheeks for use as live shark bait, buttocks are branded with penises, men are reduced to tears and a variety of bulls show no mercy for Johnny and his posse.

Be warned though, there are scenes in this movie will force you to turn away or leave you gagging, but its worth it. If you love to see people put themselves in great pain and suffering, then you'll really love this monstrosity.

It really saddens me
21 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
(sigh) I just don't understand why directors and producers and screenwriters can get away with some things. This movie was supposed to be based on the game Doom 3, but has no connection with it what so ever. Why did they destroy such potential for a great game-to-film adaptation? I'm starting to doubt whether game-to-film adaptations should be even made anymore, since directors like Uwe Boll and this dude (forget his name) get a hold of them. This film instead has been turned into a generic sci-fi thats instantly forgettable, and by the way, that first person scene was crap, it doesn't work and never should be used again.

Political Incorrectness at its best
19 October 2006
Personally, I'm a very politically incorrect person. I spit on anyone who's a Greene and/or a gun control lobbyist in the street (though I haven't got the chance yet), and I'll bully anyone who's a Communist or any of the above. Also, I'll bully anyone who aggravates smokers, though I'm not one myself, I can't stand people who pick on smokers, especially fat people, since its a persons right to smoke. Though I'm no fan of the smoking industry, or its dirty tactics, I just love this movie for the message it sends. Smoking isn't the only health problem in the world, what about obesity, or cancer caused by overuse of certain chemicals, or disease resistance from overuse of anti-biotics? It also incredibly funny, seeing how our smoking lobbyist (can't remember his name) can use just about anything you say or do against you, he's superb. This movie actually makes the smoking industry look worse for the tactics it uses to defend itself. Top marks, and a recommended for anti-smokers.

Strangely amusing...
25 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the great Aussie horror films, a true master piece. Its sought of weird how there's a constant feeling of dread throughout the film. Something you don't see very often in horror films. The great thing about this film is the way that the killer treats the situation, like its a big joke. He's always laughing and joking. It makes the scene a bit more uneasy from the fact that he's really enjoy's what he's doing. He's so funny that he makes you laugh when you know you shouldn't be laughing. That said, the film isn't as gory as every one makes it out to be. The only really gory bit in the film is where a guy is shot in the eye with a high-powered rifle. Its a great film though please, go and see it.

It's a recruiting film!
9 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, that is exactly what Pearl Habour is all about. I watched this movie at school for my history class and absolutely gave me the shits! I'm a history buff, and I know my WW2 battles well. In the film 2 planes get up into the and manage to shoot down a Japanese Zero. Bullshit! In reality one plane just managed to get up into the air before it was shot down. No Japanese aircraft were lost to American planes during the raid! What the hell has the romance got to do with Pearl Habour? The worst thing about this film is that it is a recruiting film. To get that patriotic sense into ones blood so you can go out and join the US Air Force. That is the worst thing about this movie.

Who the hell gave this movie the green light!!
28 April 2006
This is by far the worst movie I have ever seen and the director deserves to be punched in the face. First, there's the massive history inaccuracy. I'm not racist, but why the hell are blacks and whites mixing with each other in a bar in 1866, in Texas, a year after the civil war!?! Second, the editing is atrocious, the worst I've ever seen. During a scene where the main cast is surrounded in a house with heaps of bad guys are shooting away, a scene where one of the guys in the house sticking a shotgun out a window is repeated 4 times. 4 times!! And by the time the shotgun sound is added in we've skipped to another frame! Third why the hell did I watch this movie! there were heaps of other better looking movie to hire but I had to pick this one! I could go on for ages about how crap this movie is, but I won't. I'd give this movie zero, but the rating system won't let me. Just don't see this piece of crap.

Great Australia War Movie
28 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Kokoda was a great movie. It's only once in a while an Australia war movie comes out, and Kokoda is a well deserving movie. Kokoda was Austrlia's greatest military victory, and the hardship the Choco's had to go through well displayed in this movie. The action scenes are well coordinated, especially since they used real bullets instead of lazily inserting sounds and flashes. That said, the movie only touches on the Kokoda subject, and a single movie couldn't really fit in all of the battles and hardship the Aussie soldiers had to go through. And you do really learn a lot about the characters, you were just thrust into the midst, although I can forgive this because of the tight budget the film was made on. If you want to learn more about the Kokoda campaign, try reading Peter Fitzsimons book on Kokoda, its funny and a great read.
