INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY AND ITS FUTURE
4 June 2024
Introduction

1. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in "advanced" countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in "advanced" countries.

2. The industrial-technological system may survive or it may break down. If it survives, it MAY eventually achieve a low level of physical and psychological suffering, but only after passing through a long and very painful period of adjustment and only at the cost of permanently reducing human beings and many other living organisms to engineered products and mere cogs in the social machine. Furthermore, if the system survives, the consequences will be inevitable: There is no way of reforming or modifying the system so as to prevent it from depriving people of dignity and autonomy.

3. If the system breaks down the consequences will still be very painful. But the bigger the system grows the more disastrous the results of its breakdown will be, so if it is to break down it had best break down sooner rather than later.

4. We therefore advocate a revolution against the industrial system. This revolution may or may not make use of violence; it may be sudden or it may be a relatively gradual process spanning a few decades. We can't predict any of that. But we do outline in a very general way the measures that those who hate the industrial system should take in order to prepare the way for a revolution against that form of society. This is not to be a POLITICAL revolution. Its object will be to overthrow not governments but the economic and technological basis of the present society.

Mockbusters
3 April 2021
We make fun of them, right? From the obvious, like GoodTimes or Video Brinquedo, to the mysterious like Bevanfield, or Dingo Pictures, but what if I told you that there's a certain group of mockbusters that blatantly steal from Disney, characters, names, and even some songs, but get away with it, because these mockbusters make hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, and are distributed by Disney themselves? That's right. I'm calling them mockbusters from now on, because they're just inferior versions of better films that stole content from talented people. Oh, and with the film this review is attached to, don't even get me started with the Behind-The-Scenes controversies.

30 March 2020
This movie came out ten years ago, and even today, the film holds up pretty well, even in animation. I'd recommend this.

So, this is the new Disney remake everyone's talking about?

Wow, is it worse than I thought. My only recommendation is Phelous' review on YouTube. Other than him, stay away. Oh, and btw, it's an East West dub.

Brilliant.

You name it: Stunning practical effects, CGI, actors, writing, etc. My only gripe is that the theatrical version doesn't have Saruman, or the Mouth of Sauron, so, I recommend to just do the extended edition, for those two scenes.

Need a soulless movie that's VERY harmful to the LGBT community, and can lead to many suicides, than has Ray Comfort got a heartless movie for you. >;)

Best one of the franchise (and possibly the only one worth seeing)
21 December 2019
Story: Manfred (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo), and Diego (Dennis Leary) are returning a baby to it's tribe. It's not really big on plot, but it's what's on the adventure that counts. Characters: Manny's a lonely and bitter mammoth who lost his family to humans and he hates humans now, Sid may be annoying to some, but I liked his moments, Diego's a pretty interesting character arc, turning from bad to good, and Scrat's moments are funny. Animation: Jeez, it's pretty dated, like the textures being off and humans being unnatural looking, but good for 2002. Overall: Not really as good as Blue Sky's Peanuts Movie, but basically the best of the franchise. 8/10.

This film is... basically the worst Pixar film, but I'll still prefer this over anything Illumination vomits out.

The best VeggieTales Video in my opinion
3 August 2019
As a movie it's alright for little kids if you can get past the religious stuff, but as a VeggieTales video, it's up there with Lord of the Beans as the best of the best in which the series has to offer. Just give it a watch, you won't be disappointed.

Warning: Spoilers
This film series was just PERFECT! My favorite Avenger was Big Bass Bill, Awesome dude. His death scene was BEAUTIFULLY SAD. And also the songs are great.

Jk, this is REALLY BAD, down there with The Room.

DADDY WOULD YOU LIKE SOME SAUSAGE!?!
18 July 2019
Yes, I'm comparing this film to "Freddy Got Fingered", why? Because this movie is AWFUL, POORLY ACTED, OFFENSIVE, AND DISTASTEFUL! The story is that a kid starts a school shooting, commits suicide, and his friend finds God and all his problems are solved. Jesus Christ, I would rather watch Freddy Got Fingered, or even VeggieTales. This isn't even a "So bAd iT's gOoD" movie. If you want to be offended, this movie's for you, but just barely.
