Hooked
19 March 2024
Shogun is simply brilliant, with each episode it hypnotises me more and more into a dead stare at the screen not being able to take my eyes away. Even during shows I'm really enjoying I still have that stupid quick flick on my phone but nottttt during Shogun.

I'm writing this right after seeing the episode and from the costumes, set design, acting and the stunning writing it is all amazing. It's all these things that add to the GoT comparisons. Finely tune each aspect and get a schmicko production like this. So many things I have seen lately have lacked good gripping dialogue and the series Shogun finally produces the goods. There's not one scene that ever feels wasted or just filler, every single one is engaging.

A scene where they are having dinner and drinking Sake goes for a while but it's one of the best scenes on TV you'll see this year, truly brilliant. The tension, laughs and a heart punch just gives you everything.

Dead set hooked can't wait for next weeks episode gimmeeeee.

Consider my jaw dropped
29 February 2024
I'll try keep this simple so...this is the exact type of movie you go to see on the big screen, just literal jaw drop-age. The scale of this feels so massive and makes you feel so tiny in so many scenes and it blew me away. The effects were so damn brilliant with some of the most stunning visuals you will ever be able to see from a movie. The acting by the entire cast was completely from the top shelf with a special shout-out to Austin Butler, his Feyd-Rautha was perfect and the score oooft, it had me tapping my foot at times. I also swear at some points I could smell the sand that's how immersed I was in this movie.

After watching a couple more lower budget type Sci-fi movies lately that are slightly different Sci-fi genre like Synchronic and Freaks (which I enjoyed both a lot) to then go and watch Dune part 2 and just think yeahhhhh this is a whole other level. I think I saw the budget for the new Gladiator was 310 million and Dune part 2 was 190 million. For this to look just as unbelievably amazing as it did with that budget it makes me think what the hell will they do with Gladiator money?

I've read the book and loved it, I've seen part 1 and 2 and loved them. Some scenes in part 2 in the movie were so much better than imagined from the book. Any Sci-fi lover that doesn't like this movie I'll be shocked. It's an absolute epic of the genre that I think will be hard to top anytime soon if at all. Everyone needs to see this on the big screen and lose yourself on the planet Dune.

Denis Villeneuve has nailed this and might be my favourite creator in the industry at the moment with Nolan. Their tone and styles just extract the unreal I crave from cinema at the moment, hopefully a lot more to come.

True Detective: Night Country: Part 6 (2024)
Season 4, Episode 6
2/10
Finally don't have to watch anymore
21 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
If this was 8-10 episode season I would've stopped watching after episode 4. The horrific writing is the main reason this season never had a chance. Too many story lines that sucked time away from the plot destroyed the interest of 90% of each episode.

The way this season ends is just so underwhelming, the lack of any real detective work or even just a set of clues that just never really peaked your interest of wanting to solve this was just so dumb. It's what a crime show is all about, piecing together the clues and wanting to solve it with the detectives which Danvers and Navarro definitely were not. The way they try dump this ending on you like it's suppose to blow your mind and the way it was solved feels so unearned by the characters that in turn makes you not care or just roll your eyes.

The way Danvers and Navarro go into these ice caves with not telling anyone exactly where they would be and taking no gear just made my head burst. It's silly stuff like this that takes me out of shows and movies once they've piled them up a few times and tell you oh yeah this is a show/movie for idiots. You can forgive a couple things to move the plot but stuff like this kinda nit picking starts to happen when you write something so consistently bad.

The people defending this series I can only think are doing so because they're scared of being called a r*cist or s*xist? I'm not sure. This was a really bad season and will be one of my worst watched shows of the year.

I give it a 2 because the guy who played Peter did a great acting job this final episode and the only decent crime solver there...and also some lovely scenic shots at the end. True Detective has been killed and will never be seen again after this *insert doctor Ian Malcolm line*

True Detective: Night Country: Part 4 (2024)
Season 4, Episode 4

Season 4 is a cr*p circle
6 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand where any good reviews come from because there is truly nothing I find decent at this stage of the series.

Like others have said the acting, writing and directing are average if not just plain awful.

The formula they've used to structure these episodes is just so non engaging I've found my friend and I that I'm watching this with just rolling our eyes all episode. All the family drama from every character that doesn't help move the plot by the barest margin. Finally Navarro's sister died so that is one less annoying thing to soak up time which could be used to maybe put forward to solving this fricken case. I can't believe how much of these episodes is just drama between the characters that we STILL don't even know why that drama even is happening. 3 episodes of going in circles with the characters and their drama is also still a secret for the most part.

This show is so average it stresses me out how people are engaged by it at all. Every episode is oh here's a name, then 50 mins of family drama and finally in the last 5 minutes here are some Carcosa swirls with a jump scare and a cliffhanger that will be mulled over the whole next episode with no progress.

Can't see how they can possibly slap a bow on this series with 2 episodes to go that can make me remotely think 'hmm they came home strong'

Just so average
31 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Finally after 3 episodes people are starting to see what I have been seeing since the first episode. We were all intrigued with mystery and the dark long night setting in Alaska but it's relying on those two things to do all the heavy lifting and it's so boring.

Not one person is standing out in the acting and on top of that every character is so unlikeable. The dialogue in most scenes has zero 'whoa' factor. They're trying to give you so much information but at the same time there are so many pointless scenes with side characters that just don't land. A scene in the car with Liz and Navarro tries to hit those deep levels of Rust and Marty from season 1 but Navarro's line of 'I listen' when talking about her praying was so cringe.

They need to start giving some answers on why all these characters don't like each other or why Peter does anything for Liz at any time. The show so far seems to be going around in circles to me.

I actually enjoyed season 3 more than others and was hoping this would go to a higher level again but I didn't realise Pizzolatto didn't write or direct this and is a pure Issa Lopez project where she has just crammed in true detective call backs to season 1.

This doesn't feel like True Detective at all and is really missing that Pizzolatto touch in the writing and directing. If episode 4 doesn't finally get me fully engaged I will not be continuing through this dark slog.

Great surprise
1 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes I'd say would have to go straight to the top as my favourite Hunger Games. I haven't read any of the books but I've seen all the films and this just seemed to capture me instantly and really give me more of the world of Panem.

It is a long movie but runtimes are ghosts if the film can suck you in which this did from the start. Snow origin story was a great choice and the Actor who plays Snow, Tom Blyth was brilliant casting, this guy has a lot of charisma and is a great actor and has found a big fan in me. I'll go watch Billy the Kid now because of his performance here. The rest of the cast also do a really good job especially Viola Davis, she went all in and really smashed it out do the park. Zegler does have a knack to annoy me but wasn't super annoying in this and holy dear lord the girl can sing.

I'm a sucker for world building and lore and this film just gave me exactly what I wanted. Although as others have said, it can feel a little rushed at points and stuff crammed in particularly in the third act but that didn't bother me at all because the story did just keep flowing and hammering along and I did believe his descent into evil because you realise he kinda was the whole time anyway.

The best parts of the Hunger Games...are the Hunger Games and this easily has the best one, great kills and being in the older style arena just made it more action packed with less spots to hide. If they could do some more gorey kills too it would make it even more awesome. It was good watching Snow finish the kid off on the ground, never see anyone give the finishing blow, great refreshing stuff.

Small gripes like I still don't know why the boys that were aligned with the girl just let her push them around? I was thinking just kill her haha. The amount of times you hear Lucy Gray would get you drunk if you drank along and as good as her singing is I probably could've used 3 less song numbers especially in the arena once she wins.

I really love they went wake back to the 10th games and how retro and in its infancy it was. I was completely done with Hunger Games after the mocking bird films but this has sucked me all the way back in and has me craving more from this universe with so many other Hunger Games they could do. If they could get Tom Blyth back as Snow that would be brilliant.

Really good, fun, interesting film and would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Rebel slo-mo
23 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Rebel Moon is definitely in the hunt to be one of the worst movies I've seen this year. I'm struggling to find one thing I liked about it. The acting is rehhhhh, the dialogue is blehhhh, the story is mehhhh, the CGI is fehhhh and the usage of slo-mo by Zack Snyder needs to please end. Every slight bit of action is just drenched with slo-mo which I loved in 300 but now he has lost his mind with it. It ruins every single action scene which wasn't that great to begin with.

I always find it hard to get behind a scrawny lead action woman who can take down 10 men twice her size, I find it hard enough to believe a man the same size can pull that off. Kora trading blows, knocking them all out while Gunnar who is a decent size guy punches one in the face but it just eats his punches. I know it's sci-fi and yada yada but some things still have to be believable and I find my self rolling my eyes every time. At least get a more imposing woman for these action roles, they all seem to be 5"6 and 60kg. There's a reason there's weight classes.

For a movie that felt like every scene ended in an action piece it was so boring. The fighting and shooting just sucks because of stupid action cliches and I'm sick of it. Kora beating a room full of soldiers who a few of them had guns but can't just all shoot at her? Instead let her get to them and fight them all one on one ahhh I hate it, easy my biggest pet peeve in cinema and it needs to stop.

The gathering the crew together is also such a boring cliche these days and half the time I couldn't work out why half of them even joined up with them so fast. I don't care about any of the characters because you don't know any of them, it's just here's a bunch of characters and you will like them and want them to win because here.

CGI on the spaceships just kept taking me out of what I think was suppose to make me think 'aww sweet these ships landing looks so cool'. It just looks like cheap CGI from older sci-fi shows and if this movie relies on anything it's hoping you're in awe of the alien worlds and cool spaceships.

I don't know how Zack Snyder keeps getting these gigs but maybe he needs to have a swing at a drama or something completely different and try restart his art. Can't believe there's a part 2 filmed and being released early 2024.

If you need a movie to watch this weekend I'd take Saltburn on. Completely different genre but really well made, acted and interesting.

The Killer (2023)
8/10
Refreshing
31 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Finally a nice refreshing take on an assassin film. If you don't need big explosions and crazy fight scenes to enjoy an action suspense type film this will be one you really enjoy. There is a decent fight scene but it's not over the top and just lands perfectly. David Fincher has done a great job with giving this genre a nice little tweak.

The Fass was great as the lead and good to see him back from the poison world he was cast to after a couple of flops. Fass plays such a great menacing type character that he suits this role of vengeful assassin perfectly....his stare just unnerves you, so brilliant.

This film is refreshing in ways of just washing away some of the cliches of the spy/assassin genre. There's so much room for a nice, slick, efficient cool head character instead of them getting emotional like they aren't a pro and ruining the job they are meant to do. The cliches of not getting emotionally and losing the upper hand. Big car chases where the cops get to the scene of the crime in 12 seconds but then also have 500 cop cars driving down every street they escape down. Cars not starting or dropping something. Stealing some information and either getting caught or almost getting caught. The suspense they build in all these type of scenes in The Killer have you thinking it's going to happen but it doesn't which is why it makes this film better that anything in the genre in recent times. The Fass is a smooth operator and gets things done.

The Killer sets a great tense tone the whole way through with a great soundtrack that piles onto tension of each scene.

Love these types of films and definitely need more like this in the genre where it's more about the craft of getting to a target instead of big set prices and a body count.

Not the masterpiece that was hyped
19 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Straight up it is a good movie but somehow just feels lacking it multiple places which drags it down. First, the acting by DiCaprio was great and I'm not his biggest fan but after 'Don't Look Up' he once again just pours this emotional effort into scenes he doesn't need to and makes them all elevated which I think helps this movie a lot. Gladstone, De Niro were decent and Plemons wasn't asked to do a whole lot but was fine.

Secondly, after seeing Oppenheimer which was a dialogue heavy movie and being gripped from start to finish with the tension building being 10/10 to seeing this and not for one second feeling any tension. As the FBI came knocking I felt I should've been getting itchy for DiCaprio and De Niro but for some reason it just wasn't landing with me. The script was nothing special and I haven't said this for awhile about a movie but it was truly boring. Scenes I could feel like 000o this feels like it's going to escalate here but it doesn't, just keeps this one pace tone the whole way through. The murders just felt so... bleh like it wasn't a big deal and provoked zero emotion from me each time.

Lastly, I don't need non-stop action, in fact I don't need any action in a movie to be gripped from go to whoa but the acting and script need to be top tier to do that and this just missed with that. The story would be more interesting if it really did show the bigger picture more and made it feel more impactful, where this just felt like kinda one family with people dying that barely had screen time, that you didn't get to know and therefore care about.

Killers Of The Flower Moon is the not masterpiece you expect it to be and is a bit of a slog at times to keep your interest peaked. I'd wait for it to come to Apple TV.

Another no laugh comedy
4 September 2023
This movie head to toe is plain not funny. Sandler has completely lost his way with comedy and every movie he produces has the exact same formula and style of jokes...someone needs to tell him it doesn't work and isn't funny. All the jokes are so cringe I was getting second hand embarrassment. It's the same style of something happening and camera cuts to a character for a one liner that isn't funny at all. Comedies especially suffer the most from out of date references 5 years past their prime and this had a couple.

When the main character of Stacey is the most annoying unlikeable person the whole time then it's hard to enjoy a second of this movie. I don't understand where the good reviews are coming from.

It was a different sort of angle from a Sandler joint without having his regular crew (apart from his immediate family) which was refreshing. I believe the movie is aimed at a more younger crowd but I still should get a laugh or two which I did not get any.

Watching these 13 year old girls also have some sexualised scenes was a bit much for me too.

Adults I'd skip this one and just hope Sandler makes another movie away from comedy again.

Everyone will hate me
9 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Straight up Dead Reckoning Part 1 was fine. I think it's the weakest out of the last four instalments.

I can't put my finger on one exact thing but it just felt a little underdone compared to the last few M:I and was expecting big things the whole movie. It was a combination of things like the acting felt a little weak I guess, the script was just fine, the action was decent but not great compared to other M:I and to the likes of John Wick that I'm now used to. The plot with the A. I is nothing new but it's always still interesting and especially at a time in the real world where the advancements seem to be heating up but the whole pickpocketing the key for 2 hours also got boring so fast. Too many cliches started piling up. The hand to hand combat was some of the weakest stuff I've seen it a while especially the Venice bridge scene, it looked awful, like I could see the choreography. The best scene for me was the desert storm at the start which really had my attention but everything after that seemed just average.

I don't know if everyone else is now completely over their only trick being having someone go as someone else with these masks. It's so boring to me now and at a stage I'm kinda rolling my eyes. I really hope the machine blowing a fuse means we have seen the last of them.

Tom Cruise is awesome with the stunts he does and will always have respect for the things him doing them but I really wish they didn't show the motorbike cliff jump scene in the trailer. What you see in the trailer is literally the whole stunt, don't get me wrong it's truly impressive but they showed the whole thing and just completely killed it for me.

I'm slightly bummed with this one and just coming off seeing Indian Jones and having a lot more fun watching that. I don't care about runtimes but you have to have me sucked in and the whole time, I felt the time...

People will love this movie but M:I may have fizzled out with me a bit after this one.

The Idol: Jocelyn Forever (2023)
Season 1, Episode 5
1/10
What was this show?
3 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I ended up watching all 5 episodes and after that finale have no idea what the point of this show was?

This finale was just 5 songs in the entertainment area of Jocelyn's house for her managers and that to give her the nod on her tour. Jocelyn finally sends Tedros on his way after she found out he had it all planned to meet her aaaaand for some reason at the end she gets him up on stage and loves him or something?

I don't agree with the people saying the weeknd can't act I thought he played his character Tedros really well. Lily-Rose was also great as Jocelyn but this show was so unsatisfying to watch. Rob is accused of rape with zero evidence and then it cuts to 6 weeks later like who cares. Why would they even put that in, it actually added nothing.

This finale to me was just a head scratcher where Jocelyn went through a quick arc only to be with Tedros at the end because...well I don't know. Nothing happened. I was waiting for a murder or assault but it was just more stripper dancing.

This show was a waste of everyone's time. Everyone that wa dingo led with making it and everyone that watched it.

Enjoy retirement
28 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I think this is better than the crystal skull, I think the story was way more engaging and a better plot. Nazi's and Indiana Jones are required. It was a movie of up's and downs and I don't mean emotionally, I mean there would be a sequence I like but then straight after it would be an annoying sequence.

I don't know about everyone else but I feel Indiana Jones was the worst part about this. The Daughter was also soooo good at everything of course and I also found it hard to hear her? Especially in the ludicrous chase scene in Tangier. I felt like the kid added zero to this film apart from having him there the whole time just to follow them through the time portal to fly them home. The first 45 minutes there were about 50 one punch knockouts with also about 10 captures of Indiana where you're left thinking just maim the guy or kill him. He escapes so many times it blows your mind.

Mads was great as the villain but seemed to just have that timing like the French guy from raiders of the lost arc, just always turned up jusssst as Indiana worked something out.

I did enjoy the mystery solving I'm a sucker for that and some good action mixed in with some average action I'm fine with. I was glad that at the end they went full speed into the ending and didn't hold back, I was hoping they were actually going back in time and I loved that they did and didn't fake out not go through the portal.

If you like Indiana Jones and didn't like Crystal Skull you'll still go see this.

Lost a step
30 May 2023
I love the first 2 seasons of this show, so many favourite skits and quote it non-stop with my friends but I really think it has lost a step this season. After binging it all last night there's not really one skit that jumps out at all as an instant classic, compared to the other season where I couldn't decide which was the funniest from making me cry laughing.

There are definitely a few funny bits in the season but nothing really made me laugh as hard as this show has in the past.

I'll definitely be giving it a rewatch and maybe second time around it'll crack me up more but I didn't have to do that with previous seasons. Tim's faces still make me laugh but that's what I feel it was really relying on this season.

Kept holding my breath
15 December 2022
Finally Avatar 2 is out and I honestly enjoyed this movie from go to whoa. Again it is a nice simple story yes and the script has some weak dialogue but they do the story so well it makes up for it.

In a 3 hour film not once was I bored or checking my phone. The times when literally nothing is happening in the story I couldn't look away, I'm so engaged in Pandora I could watch their day to day lives every film.

People will say it's just visuals but there's great action, good world building and some good new characters too. The visuals are truly breathtaking though! Such a visually beautiful movie especially in 3D. Every time they would go underwater taking that breath in it made me take a breath too every single time.

Some people forget that movies have to be entertaining too and not just crazy plots. Avatar 2 is entertaining the whole way through and I really recommend seeing this at the movies especially in 3D...I will watch every Avatar James Cameron makes.

Nah not a 6.1
11 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In what world is this a 6.1? I knew going in to not take it so serious and was interested in a fun Sunday night movie but far outttt.

The scenes with Brad Pitt were the best and Daniel Radcliffe really did his part with some good lines but other then that it's pretty garbage. Plot sucks and Tatum and Bullock to me felt like there wa zero chemistry I dunno. The side quest with Beth making her way to do the big rescue also was just so mehhh like I forgot about her every time until they cut back to her again.

I can see people having fun with this movie but each time you go oooo this could be good they do more of that quick Witt conversation back and fourth about something that wasn't funny in the first place for about a minute and you just want them to shhhh.

At best this movie is something to have on in the background and then never to be heard of again.

House of the Dragon: The Black Queen (2022)
Season 1, Episode 10

Brilliant
24 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was amazing, the acting, the CGI, the writing allllll of it. I know I shouldn't compare this to rings of power because they're ultimately two different shows, but how much more in world I feel in HOTD with the costuming and set pieces is crazy. Watching rings of power I feel like I'm watching the characters act and read lines and everything looks like the set of a play. HOTD as me fully immersed. The costuming and set designs feel medieval, cold, dark and dirty how it would be.

I actually felt so nervous for Lucerys when he arrived at Storm's End and in the lightning you see how truly massive and terrifying Vhagar is compared to Arrax awww man it was so well done. Then the Vhagar Arrax dragon chase scene finished with that chomping, just wow.

Every episode of HOTD just got better and better in my opinion and really feels like Game of Thrones to me now.

The show has exceeded my expectations and I'm shattered the season is over! Can't wait for more! Brilliant!

More Fielder brilliance
6 August 2022
Nathan Fielder is an absolute comedy genius. Going into this I didn't think he could produce on levels like he did in 'Nathan For You' but he smashes it out of the park again. After 4 episodes that I've seen so far it just gets better and better. The levels to this are just insane but the funniest stuff you'll see anywhere right now.

Episode 4 is some of the best comedy television I've ever seen, I can't praise it enough. If you're a fan of 'Nathan For You' there's no way in hell that you won't like this show too.

Need more eps asap, I can't get enough kudos to you Nathan Fielder for producing some witty, dry humour that I needed again.

Bullet Train (2022)

Fun as all get out
4 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I just got home from seeing this and I'm still pumped up from how much fun this movie is. The acting was brilliant in this, loved all the characters everyone does a great job.

The fight scenes are really well done, I love these hectic movies where everything links up and all means something without it losing its charm and Bullet Train does it perfectly. My favourite fight would have to be in the quiet car, funny and creative! I'm glad this movie was as bloody and gorey as it was too with some great kills. This movie just had me smiling the whole time, the bright neons and colours make it full of beautiful visuals too.

I don't like seeing a 136 minute runtime but far out I didn't notice it at all, hooked from start to finish and will be going to watch again.

Love this movie one of my favourites of the year easily and highly recommend going to see this one asap.

Also that water bottle POV at the end was just so satisfying to watch, love it.

Long live Thomas the tank.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
Season 1, Episode 4
2/10
Just so bad
10 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Kenobi series is officially dead after this episode. The script is consistently awful, the acting is subpar and the action is for children.

This episode is so short and makes it suffer so much, like just make it 10 mins longer and give yourself more setup time. Like the guy Obi-Wan asks for help from and tells him no then all of a sudden after saying his wife ded he helps? Even the snow speeders that came in to save the day, Wade was shooting at Reva that looked pretty far away then they get a side angle and it looks like she could hit it with her saber or the speeder should be blowing her away.

I just can't get over how bad the storm troopers are, it's like they know everyone knows they're pathetic so in the show they can have a leaf fly on a storm troopers mask and block their vision and just walk off a cliff and know the audience will think yeah they're dumb makes sense. Plot armour runs heavy this episode and I feel like I nit pick at everything but it's because it's so bad and Disney obviously don't care what they put out, just slap Star Wars on it and it will get views.

This whole series is a waste, the next Star Wars content they produce needs to be R rated or something because all this kids crap treats the entire audience like children that don't know what 2+2=? Taika the only one that can save whatever is left of Star Wars.

Trash
9 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There was no chance this movie was going to be any good and it was not any good like predicted. I get it's about dinosaurs but how many times can the same people be cornered by a random dinosaur? And why do the dinosaurs only go for them? The dinosaurs have the characters dead to rights with their nose right against them but don't attack but then 5 seconds later the same dinosaur will bust through a window snapping at them.

These movies have gotten so stupid they forget the suspense that really made the first one so great. Now it's a dinosaur every 3 seconds snapping at them with another lucky escape time after time. Either let someone be killed for once or don't put them in that situation.

The original cast of Jurassic park do a great job with a lot of fan service call backs they do to the original like Ellie Sattler and her trademark stunner take off of her sunnies. Goldblum has a couple of great lines late that I enjoyed too.

It's such a bad movie and is so long and I will never watch this again. I hope this franchise can be put to bed now.

Zero pay off?

Warning: Spoilers
This movie definitely had me interested at the beginning and mid way through especially when she found the bodies I thought something was really going to build from there but it didn't. She just goes home and has a shower?

Then she just has a convo with the devil I think about how her husband was tricking him by being with and killing Other women because the devil wanted her? Like why did her want her for? The movie doesn't say.

The ending is just her in the bait with a gun like her husband did but her friend drags her out aaaand ok all done devil no more normal life it is?

Really think this movie fell down in the third act and really could've been something special, Rebecca Hall did a great job but they failed her performance with the blandest of unsatisfying endings.

Average movie in the end.

Just so bad
30 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This show so far is just soooo bad! The only good thing about this series so far has been Ewan as Kenobi again otherwise it's basically for children. They're so obsessed with needing everyone to be able to watch the show the destroy the quality with the poorest and simplest dialogue and plot for kids to follow.

We had the worst tv scene of all time in episode one with the Leia chase scene that they thought hey let double up and do another god awful Leia chase scene. She right there for Obi Wan to grab and all he has to do is take one step and grab her but just sticks his arms out as she waddles past him. Honestly I don't care if she is actually 10 they needed to cast a more agile grown 10 year old to even give these chase scenes any chance to work, she waddles like a toddler when she runs it's so bad I can't understand how they left them in the series.

Reva is somehow more annoying than the witty 10 year old. Kenobi could be anywhere so she just gets on a rooftop and sits there like Batman doing literally nothing until luckily Leia decides to stupidly run off and climb to a rooftop that somehow a Jedi master couldn't catch her before all this. The whole parkour run across rooftops was so bad again ahhh the script is just awful I don't think I can watch episode 3 I'll have to wait and read reviews to see if it improves in anyway becasue so far it's embarrassing.

Rough start
30 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've watched the first episode only so far and really don't know how I feel. I love Star Wars and have the most interest around the Jedi so thought I'd love this straight away. Once again the Disney touch seems to just ruin a lot of Star Wars magic for me, the way they film these and the script was just weak instantly. So many unlikeable characters mainly Reva and Little Leia.

I'm sure you've all seen or have heard about the chase scene of little Leia and how pathetic it was! Somehow this 10 year old who moves like a 4 year old slips past her guards again to run in the woods and thennnn the 3 villains who surround and chase her are the most pathetic I've ever seen. She starts running and should've been caught in 2 steps but her toddler style run burns them and they can't catch up to her like she's an Olympian. Not only was she the slowest runner ever and couldn't be caught but the big bad kidnappers are stopped by a thin tree branch like cmonnn. It's probably the worst tv I've ever seen.

I like Ewan as Kenobi again and he picks up where he left off and I'm just hoping they don't ruin him and give him some good dialogue and lightsaber battles to give this show a good kick.

If you like what most of Disney has produced of star wars I'm guessing you'll like this too.

Enjoyable
10 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
With the multiverse opened right up anything is possible in this universe now so I don't think we will ever not be entertained by a Marvel movie. Doctor Strange is definitely a personal favourite from the MCU being a sorcerer which gives him a lot of room to be entertaining to watch in battles or just changing water to wine at a wedding.

This is definitely a MCU movie with a few more darker scenes which I loved, mainly with a couple of gruesome deaths I don't think I've seen done in this universe which helps seperate it from other Marvel movies and make it not one to miss.

I will say some of the CGI felt cheap especially the first demon monster Strange beats at the wedding and some of the dialogue was just too corny. Also not sure if it was just me but the acting in this movie felt subpar compared to not just other marvel movies but other movies in general. The girl playing America Chaves being the worst and just never really cared about her from go to whoa....made me feel nothing.

It's just a few things that bring this movie down for me but in the end another fun Marvel movie and keen to see more Doctor Strange!
