Invasion (2021–2024)
7/10
Well I'm loving it!
2 December 2021
I dont understand the negative reviews...seriously. Yes it is slow, but even so it's still entertaining and the characters are absorbing enough for me to not lose interest in the series.

The visual effects are top notch and the alien designs very interesting.

Its not deserving of all this dislike. Like, for real people.

Really curious to see how it progresses.

Muck (I) (2015)
1/10
The worst horror movie ever made.
10 October 2021
Muck is bad. I don't know what else to say. Sadly I can't give it a 0 but I think even a 0 rating would somehow be a compliment.

It's one of those movies that actually make you angry because of how horrible it is. Avoid avoid avoid. For the love of god avoid.

Candyman (2021)
9/10
Well... I freakin loved it.
21 September 2021
After reading all the negative reviews I expected to be disappointed, I mean audiences didn't like it but critics did, usually that's a sign that it's gonna be bad. But no, I actually loved this movie alot. In my opinion it's the best horror movie of 2021 so far, and yes I know ALOT of you are going to disagree but this is just my opinion.

The movie kept my interest from start to finish. The musical score, cinematography and acting were all great. The horror moments were very effective, creepy and well done. Candyman is more of a shadow in the corner than the boogeyman all up in your face, which actuall made him more menacing. The climax isn't a big eye full off thrills but was satisfying enough.

I will say the only negative thing about the film was the lack of Tony Todd as he only makes a cameo, but even with his limited screen time, it works well with the story telling and sets up for a sequel where we could see him in his full glory.

Malignant (I) (2021)

A different Wan.
11 September 2021
First thing u need to realize when watching this is that it's not at all like Insidious or The Conjuring, a mistake I think alot of people are making. It's very different. James Wan creates a bizzare and gory film with an original story. The visuals and set designs are beautiful and the cinematography flawless. The film's antagonist is one of the most interesting ones I've seen in a long time, one I won't forget anytime soon.

Dont expect jump scares or any hiding behind your blanket, it's NOT that kind of horror film. I cannot stress this enough. Wan takes his genius into a different direction showing his versatility when it comes to horror.

I sincerely advise those who disliked it to view the film again, because I don't think you understood what Wan was doing here...

Separation (I) (2021)
5/10
Not THAT bad
28 August 2021
Firstly, this movie isn't nearly as terrible as people are making it out to be. Yes, it's nothing memorable and the runtime is way to long, but it somewhat redeems itself with some creepy moments and awesome ghost (I assume) designs.

The editing is rather sloppy with some moments feeling as if scenes were cut and then forgotten to add back, giving it a very rushed feeling.

Over all its entertaining enough to sit through but don't expect to be wowed. It had so much potential but ultimately never reaches the heights it could have.

The Grudge (2019)
2/10
There are actually good reviews????
26 August 2021
I don't get how anyone can like this film... I'm a huge Ju-on/The Grudge fan but this film was an insult to the franchise. With hardly any scares, I was left begging for it to just end. There is hardly anything that's similar to what we have come to know and love. The filmmakers ultimately created something so far from home, is not even family if you know what I mean. Compared to The Grudge 3 (which isn't all that bad but no where close to the standard of the previous films), the 2020 addition is a fatal face plant there is no recovery from.

Trainwreck (2015)
8/10
It's funny. Period.
25 August 2021
I get the feeling that most of these negative reviews are just from people who seem to dislike Amy and feel the need to talk negatively about her. The fact is this movie is funny. Amy is funny. End of story.

The Unholy (2021)

What are you doing Raimi??
15 July 2021
The Unholy is a collection of predictable horror cliques that make this film feel so outdated. It tries to be scary but the lazy CGI design of Mary ruins whatever vibe they trying to achieve with this movie. You can see the jump scares coming a mile away. The only thing it has going for it is an original story. Very disappointing.

Saint Maud (2019)
3/10
No thrills nor chills found here. Sort of.
4 March 2021
Considering the high rating this film has received, I expected the next great horror movie. That wasn't the case unfortunately. Saint Maud thrives on great acting but falls flat with the rest. Not much happens in this film and its basically only the ending that packs a punch. Its definitely a thought provoking film which I kind of liked as well, but it didn't offer enough thrills to really grab my attention

Basically it's a boring film.

The plot follows Maud, a reclusive (and highly religious) nurse that is tasked with caring for a patient dying from cancer. Maud becomes obsessed with the idea that she needs to save her patient's soul before it's too late, but madness soon consumes her in her soul saving mission.

If you are someone who enjoys more psychological horror with minimal scares/creepy moments I would probably recommend this. But otherwise, it didn't do much for me at all.

Wrong Turn (2021)
8/10
These 1 star reviews definitely took a turn in the wrong direction.
24 February 2021
It's no secret that the Wrong Turn franchise has seen its fair share of dead ends, but the 2021 reboot definitely comes as a saving grace. With a noice budget and a cast that actually knows how to act (hallelujah!!), it takes a turn in a different direction from what we've come to know which breathes fresh air into an overall exhausted series of films. The story follows a group of youths taking a trip to the Appalachian Trail where they, well...end up taking a wrong turn that ultimately leads them to a very shall we say, bloody trail, where they come across a community of mountain dwellers that don't take kindly to trespassers. Wrong Turn is ultimately an edge-of-your-seat satisfying reboot with enough unpredictability and chills which allow this film to become its own beast that has more on its mind than just a creative kill. In my opinion, writer Alan B. McElroy and director Mike P. Nelson did a solid job and this deserves way more credit.

Glass (2019)
9/10
A perfect ending to a perfect trilogy!
13 November 2019
M Night Shyamalan is a phenomenal story teller. Sadly he is subject to criticism by people who seem to get off on disliking his films. Personally, I have yet to see him create a bad project.

Glass is another perfect addition to his filmography and brings a unique trilogy that began 19 years ago to a brilliant end. With strong acting, the signature Shyamalan score, as little to none CGI use, and clever as always story telling, this movie keeps your attention from start to finish.

My review is more in defense of this film considering the low ratings it has received which I don't believe it's deserving of. In a time when originality is lacking, Shyamalan can always be trusted to bring a breath of fresh air into cinema, and with Glass he does just that.

Final note: M Night Shyamalan is one of the greatest writer/directors out in cinematic history, and it's time to realize this instead of following this hateful trend.
