Sister Boniface Mysteries (2022)
I REALLY wanted to like this but...
I really wanted to like this show and was looking forward to it. I love the Brit shows and enjoy Father Brown, Shakespeare & Hathaway, Agatha Raisin etc. But I found this boring. I like to give shows the benefit of the doubt so after the first one I tried a few more and completely lost interest. I didn't expect it to be the same as Father Brown but I did expect it to be interesting, suspenseful at times, witty and the plot to develop nicely along the way, unfortunately this was not the case. Not to analyze it too much, but I didn't feel a connection between the characters. Sister Boniface was not introduced at all and no one else had any background introduction either. As another reviewer stated, the only good thing is the wholesomeness of the show, you really can watch this as a family.
Good Witch (2015)
Skip season 7
I used to like this positive, family friendly, albeit cheesy, series. It was a good watch that didn't have a lot of drama and any problems were usually solved by the end of the episode. Then the kids left for school, etc. And things went really down hill. It started in season 6 and then just crashed in season 7. It seems that Cassie was always sad after that, not the happy-to -help-others attitude she used to have. Plot lines stopped going places or abruptly ended, and new characters were added that just didn't fit the show. I know the show is called Good Witch and yes, several of the characters are witches but until season 7 it was never actually said, always just implied with more good deeds than actual magic. In season 7 it's more like the show Charmed than the Good Witch and it's mostly about the magic instead of the people. Stephanie's character takes a weird turn in her dating life which seems out of character for her. George, the grandfather, seems to be more into the magic than previously ever mentioned. Abigail has several plot lines that go nowhere. And is it just me or does it seem like the characters have replaced their tea drinking with alcohol in almost every scene? There is also an addition of a Lesbian character which seems out of place in this fictitious wholesome town and has angered many viewers. Overall it was a good show but I think that they tried to take it in a new direction that just didn't work for this type of audience. If you want to watch the show I recommend watching it up until Grace leaves for school and consider that the end, because the rest of the series really just doesn't add anything to the show.
Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
Don't believe the other reviews
It seems that most of the other reviews on here are all so negative about this film. I just saw it today and really enjoyed it. It is sort of a modern day Cinderella story, and I agree not going to win any Oscars but it's cute. It reminds me of how movies used to be, not full of sex and raunchiness and just a feel good light story. No, you do not need to be Asian to like this movie, but I suppose if you are concerned about consumerism, having every Asian culture represented, and want lots of raunchiness and stupidity then maybe you should skip this one, otherwise enjoy.
Cow Belles (2006)
Do yourself a favour and skip this one
I watched this movie really late last night and usually if it's late then I'm pretty forgiving of movies. Although I tried, I just could not stand this movie at all, it kept getting worse and worse as the movie went on. Although I know it's suppose to be a comedy but I didn't find it very funny. It was also an especially unrealistic, and jaded portrayal of rural life. In case this is what any of you think country life is like, it's definitely not. I do have to agree that some of the guy cast members were cute, but the french guy was really fake. I do have to agree that it tried to have a good lesson in the story, but overall my recommendation is that no one over 8 watch it, it's just too annoying.
