How personality shapes our society
26 April 2021
It makes me profoundly happy that this documentary could be backed by a large media company.

Nothing but the truth in this documentary.

It's a look at the shockingly pathological society we have become and the problems we will face if we continue to live as though jobs should only be awarded by merit in a capitalist society.

Thanks very much.

A Very Good Follow-Up
22 March 2021
Yes, it has a center-left "bias."

But given that corporations are only endlessly supported by the right, that should have been obvious!

Wonderful High Tech
24 August 2020
This is my favorite show on TV at the moment.

The high tech (as in high tech from the phrase high tech low life cyberpunk) in this show is amazing. Everything about this show is amazing. It's not targeted at an audience that is too young, the stories are great. I haven't got a negative thing to say.

If there are more stories from the Philip K Dick short stories, I would love for this show to continue with more seasons.

Made for Kids
22 August 2020
The movie right from the beginning is very clearly targeted at a younger audience. There's a very distinct style the movie is made with -- one where you're never scared, one where every scene looks a certain style -- and it's not a style that adults can appreciate at all. I think what I'm picking up on is that there is someone quite smart deliberately making money, but they're not making it by targeting me; they're targeting people a lot younger.

Maybe as a child I could have appreciated this and thought it was wonderful, but even then I'm not so sure. I still think I wouldn't like it.

This is a new trend in movies, particularly Stephen King movies, where everything is targeted at teenagers. I miss the days when movies were made to appeal to adults, and children still loved them anyway. It used to be cool when you were a kid and watching movies for adults. It's never cool to be an adult watching a movie that's made for kids.

A Gripping Debut
15 August 2020
I can't remember the last time I watched a movie that had my attention as much as this.

A wonderful debut.

Part of what made it so gripping was I can tell the director had the ideas preplanned and then wanted to make the idea he had.

It will be interesting if he can follow it up next time when perhaps the ideas aren't there and he's forced to create something.

But this is a fantastic film for the budget. Incredible quality for the budget. There were just a few moments that could have been better acted and directed, but overall it's an A grade movie.

The One Thriller Per Year You Want to See
27 July 2020
There's about one thriller per year that comes out on average that may not have a huge budget but it exciting for you to see because mystery thrillers are you favorite genre.

That is that movie.

The entire movie will keep you captivated. It's made by people who know what they're doing. I never got bored, I never got distracted. I was watching the whole time.

The story is original, interesting, and you'll be glad you saw it.

The acting was very good. This doesn't seem like a low budget movie.

I'll keep waiting for the next thriller like this to come out, and I'll enjoy the film when it arrives.

We Need All The Truth We Can Get
5 July 2020
I'm very happy and proud of Corey Feldman for creating this film.

He shied away from releasing it for a long time but ultimately did the right thing by filling the world in on the truth.

There's no doubt in my mind at all that Corey is telling the truth.Anyone who has been following the story can obviously see the truth. Haim's mother has never wanted the truth to be told so she's denying it.

I just hope that this can become available online for more people to watch. Hardly anyone is talking about it and it's because no one can find it.

Too Far-fetched
18 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, so a house kidnaps Kevin Bacon.

And apparently Kevin read this script and thought this would be a good idea.

The ending is horrendous.

Before the ending, things were't too bad. It had Kevin Bacon and other decent actors. It had a nice modern house. It was enthralling. But it had no worthwhile story.

Update: I've now looked more into the story behind this movie, and I like it more now. The story that I said was too far-fetched was far-fetched on purpose to see how a writer can make an audience go along for the ride (it was originally a novel). And now all of a sudden we do have something worthwhile and original. This is also made by a very good director and the same guy who did Stir of Echoes.

I appreciate anything in this genre that is attempted, and I'm glad this was made.

One of the Best Horror Films of All Time
23 October 2019
This is one of the best horror movies I've ever seen.

Very enjoyable to watch. A very good plot, and then a good twist at the end.

The acting was good.

This film is about as good at it can get for the budget.

It was unfortunate to read that Jennifer was short on time and money when finishing this film. It does wrap up pretty quickly, but it's still great.

Whenever friends ask me of a horror movie that I don't think they may have seen, I always point them to this one.

It's a pretty slow movie but it's also pretty dense. I thought the pace was good.

No Idea What People Are Complaining About Regarding Cameras
26 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I was reading the other reviews and noticed a lot of people talking about an apparent camera problem -- the camera bumping around too much, and so on.

I never noticed it the first time. And I didn't notice it the second time either.

As for the movie, it was a bit dark in general. And by dark I mean there wasn't much lighting all throughout the movie. It started off quite baron, similar to RE Extinction and then went quite dark.

I was also a bit disappointed it completely skipped how the previous movie finished. RE Retribution ends with loads of zombies coming toward her, and I would have loved for the movie to pick it up from there.

But those are the only negatives. I did not notice too much CGI like others apparently did. Obviously we need CGI to create the mutants and other "monsters" of the T-virus.

It has its usual unique "monsters" and very nicely crafted action scenes battling against them.

I also enjoyed how the story wrapped up. This was arguably my greatest concern. I didn't want my favorite movie series to be wrapped up poorly. And it didn't let me down. The ending was very impressive how it alludes to her still battling and likely surviving.

Get to Know the Life of an Artist
23 August 2019
This is one of my favorite movies. It belongs inside the top 100 films in my personal list.

The beautiful thing about this movie is it gives you insight into the life of an artist. In particular, how their life differs when it comes to time.

A world where there is no schedule and the only bounds of time are the schedules of others and having to come up with enough money to live.

This is of course a biography and simply telling the life of Alberto Giacometti, and that is the film's main premise. Geoffrey Rush really makes the film.

But I found the time aspect of the film fascinating. An artist is immersed in his own world where the only boundaries of time come from those around him.

Oh Boy Would Dave Have Hated This Film, Eek
10 August 2019
First off, this movie is one of the most sentimental things I've seen, and Dave made it very clear that one of his biggest fears was coming off as sentimental because he hated it and viewed it as a very negative thing.

So, that is the first way Lipsky managed to sell Dave out after his death.

Next, there are real tapes you can listen to online that feature some of the things that were said in the movie, and sadly, the movie has changed them to make them more dramatic and sentimental. For example, Dave is sitting on a couch laughing during the lines, "and when that happens, you become unprecedently willing to examine other alternatives on how to live," but much to my dismay and I'm sure David's), the movie turns this into an emotional tissue-fest toward the end of the film.

If the movie did that to one lines we know about, you can only imagine how much of the rest of the lines in the film were altered for sentimentality and ticket sales.

One can assume this much disrespect would only happen after someone dies and surely not before.

That said, I still enjoyed the movie a whole lot. I just feel bad for Dave.

As Meaningful As Plots Get
18 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There aren't too many films that have a meaning behind them more powerful than Revolutionary Road.

It was of course a novel by Richard Yates, who deserves all the credit as far as story goes. But this is the movie based on that book.

I call this contemporary fiction. And the meaning of the story is that toxic relationships do not work.

I didn't necessarily love watching the film. It wasn't necessary all that captivating. At times it also wasn't exactly clear what happens. If you're willing to do a bit of searching around the internet for clarification after watching, you cannot leave this experience a changed person. You will now know why toxic relationships are doomed.

I put this film right up there with Mystic River as far as meaning goes.

One of the Best Comedies of All Time
17 July 2019
This is definitely inside my top 10 comedy films of all time. Not only was it funny, but it was masterfully done with lots of real life events included into the plot.

I have no idea how this movie flopped. It's almost a conspiracy. One would have assumed with all the noise this film created, that it inevitably would have at least been watched. But apparently hardly anyone went to see it at all. One of the biggest head scratchers of all time as well.

A Wonderful TV Show, Presumably Only Hated by Republicans
4 July 2019
This is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time.

Some episodes have some "political" messages, or messages that border into the political spectrum, and that is what is likely causing this TV show to have such a low rating.

Nevertheless, all views expressed are obviously correct ones. Hopefully this show continues playing the same tune for many more seasons.
