Really good for a micro budget film
7 December 2023
I'm leaving this review in response to the other review, which points out that this isn't the most high quality movie. I think it's important to note that this is a micro budget film.

Even in the independent film industry, most movies have at least half million dollar budgets, so the fact that this movie is cohesive and coherent is pretty impressive, considering the tiny budget it was made on.

Acting is decent, the plot is good, and camera work is done as best you can on a budget. Add in some pretty nice cinematography here and there, when it comes together as a pretty good movie.

You can't just shut down an entire block or an entire neighborhood when you've got a budget so you're really limited with what you can shoot. That being said this movie feels a lot better and a lot more coherent than most micro budget and small budget movies I've seen.

Warning: Spoilers
This is not a sci-fi movie, it's a trip into the mind vaults of your crazy friend or libertarian uncle. It feels less and less like a movie as you watch and similar themes emerge. The moon isn't real! The government is run by lizard people!! Angels exist... and they're aliens!!! We better stop paying taxes and buy more guns! I've heard all the plots and twists before they happen, from a tweaked out friend who grew up on and off the streets, from crazy seventh day adventists I've worked with, and from those anti government people who can't seem to believe anything unless it comes from a alt right blog....... that said, I did watch the movie, so it must have been reasonably somewhat ok, for entertainment purposes.

better than expected

I found it funny and engaging, and way better than expected. People bashing this movie have to consider the differences between budgets in film making. For example, Behind Enemy Lines cost about $40 million to make... Beyond the Line probably cost less than $40,000. Should only big budget producers be able to release films? Why not support the little guys like this to see the magic they can turn out with relatively no budget.
