Quicksand (2019)
I did not care for the outcome of this mini-series.
This foreign drama thriller, (which is English dub greatfully), was interesting enough. It kept me guessing as to if Maja was involved in shooting other kids, if she was coerced into aiding and abetting, or if she didn't do it and knew nothing about the plan at all, which was her defense. Her lawyer was trying to show how her boyfriend, Sebastian, had a mental grip on her and that she feared him . That fear was what kept her standing by his side no matter how obnoxious he was. I had the opinion that she loved him and it was love, not fear that kept her standing beside him. I believe she knew, I believe she helped, and though I do not believe she killed her bff on purpose, she did kill people and then killed her boyfriend to stop the madness once she saw her bff die. The thing that decreased the stars in this series for me was the verdict! I cannot believe that she was acquitted on all counts! This is just so unbelievable that she didn't even get a slap on the wrist. They had me up till the end!! I feel cheated. I wasted 6 hours of binging this drama. Is Sweden really that lenient on murder?? If this movie was based remotely on their judicial system, then I wouldn't wanna live there. I would hope this is totally fantasy! I just hated the end.
Beneath the Trees (2019)
WTF?
I am left with total confusion at the end of this movie. It felt like an idea of Julia and cousin, Jay and his girlfriend, Emily being in the woods and then just quite a bit of little scary bites that kept them from being able to escape something scary amongst the trees. I don't think there was even a storyline. I kept waiting for the cousins to sacrifice Emily and then revealing that the cousins were really a couple. The green man would have been scary if there were more focus on him. I just wasn't very scared and the ending was so confusing that I'm left wondering what really was this movie about......it could have been so much more! Concept was good, but execution was bad.
616 Wilford Lane (2021)
Didn't see that coming!
Wow. I first thought I was gonna hate this movie because of how they trampled all over the scare scenes with sex scenes! I'm a stickler for fast forwarding the sex scenes during a horror flick because they ruin the fear factor to which I am trying to reach! But, the more the movie rolls on, the scarier it gets. It starts to make sense so I am letting up on it a bit and starting to get into it. I'm thinking why can't they just look up the incident that happened in the house, what's causing the haunting, but apparently it's all been covered up. Finally at the conclusion, my mind was blown! All the sex made sense. All the inappropriate sexual overtures wasn't weird anymore. Dad wasn't dad, and teen daughters weren't teen daughters! They were grifters! Scammers! But that wasn't even the climax. That part, I will left unsaid! Pretty good flick, overall.
Submerged (2011)
Better than b movie
Considering the fact that I have outwatched many many horror flicks on several streaming channels, I was pleasantly surprised that I kept my eyes on this one. Most times I can predict the killer or killers, and who is trustworthy or not. Ya got me!
Ps. I cannot find the song "clear the air for me" on any site. I would love to hear it again. That was nice touch.
Archaon: The Halloween Summoning (2020)
Party music
I just wanna know what song is played at beginning of the party......
Pet Sematary (2019)
Great but could've been fab!
I am sooooooo upset that they changed the whole storyline of this movie!! C'mon! It was Gage that died. You just ruined the whole movie for me. Not to mention telling the wife about Church dying. This is why remakes are usually a bad idea with a good movie. Though the graphics are better, and more up to date, I still wish they left the story as it was.
