I loved it!
17 May 2023
I love this movie. It's really well done and incredibly dark and relentless. While It's not as scary as I'd hoped it would be, I definitely loved it! It was really well made, and Evil Dead is so good about writing and telling the stories. This movie is definitely gruesome and intense from start to finish. There's very few minutes without the deadites doing their tormenting. I do wish they'd bring back some of the taunting humor the deadites had in the originals, but overall, I have very few complaints about anything in this movie. It's really well done and I loved it!!

I'll definitely watch this one again!

Twitches Too (2007 TV Movie)

This shouldn't be called Twitches
18 January 2023
Twitches was an amazing series of books. The movies are an awful series of disappointment beyond your wildest imagination if you actually read the books.

These movies couldn't be further from what made the books great. There was no point in even calling these movies Twitches. They're so vastly different from the books. I remember being so excited as a kid that they were making these books into movies, and literally crying when I watched them out of sheer anger and and betrayal of Disney Channel.

Someone should have shoved the books up the screen writers and directors a**es and they'd have a better idea then about what this series is actually about than they probably do even now.

These films helped me learn about disappointment, and I still need therapy to this day. F these movies.

Why even call it Twitches??
18 January 2023
This movie is absolutely NOTHING like the books. The characters are are so radically different, the plot is completely different, it doesn't even make sense to call itself Twitches. I remember seeing this as a kid who loved the book series. This movie series is more disappointing than an oatmeal cookie and my father combined.

These movies are pretty much just Sister Sister with witches, which is not the tone of the books whatsoever. Cam is a sporty soccer player, Alex is a goth. There's no "darkness", there no doors to other dimensions. It literally took out the biggest plot point and not only completely changed characters, but it axed some prominent characters in the series.

One of the biggest plot points in the book is having to rescue one of Cams favorite celebrities. They first saw each other at Alex's job at her job at an amusement park, but didn't talk then. Karsh is a kind old man and mentor, Ileana is a sassy youngling who's still learning about her role and taking care of the twins. There is no romance. Going to Coventry was a huge deal and done later in the series, as was meeting their mother.

It's been years since I've read this series, but I still can't believe how incredibly disappointing this movie series was. The director and screen writers deserve to be hexed for ruining what could have been a great adaptation.

Not okay
10 October 2022
As someone who partakes in viewing true crime content, this is very disrespectful. There was no warning or care for the people portrayed, the people who lost their loved ones. This is a purely for profit, no care given approach. Netflix has gotten really bad about their true crime content and how little care they put into it, glorifying horrible people, no compassion for survivors.

If you enjoy true crime content but want to watch it ethically, Netflix is not a good streaming service to watch it on. They need to be mindful of the people involved and stop glorifying serial killers. Because all this stuff recently is just sick.

Really Well Done

I'll probably gonna be rewatching this a lot. This is a really good remake, and I think they kept the right tone for the movie. It's dark, twisted, and I feel like they knew what to go for in remaking the movie. They lay out the rules, and they knew exactly what viewers wanted to see that was missed out in the original movies, in my opinion. I really hope they follow up and give us a sequel to this one, I was really impressed and I'd love to see more. The cenobites were really cool. They ditched the leather and made them very disturbing looking, I would definitely recommend this movie for viewing for fans of the series. I'm going to be rewatching this for sure.

It has its issues, but overall a great sequel!
1 October 2022
There were a few instances where it really seems out of character, but overall, I loved it! Especially for how long it's been since the original movie came out. The opening scene was fantastic and definitely my favorite part of the film. That scene felt the most true to character, and on top of that, it was very beautifully done. Those kids were really good as the Sanderson sisters.

Of course it can't top or be as good as the first movie, but I'll definitely be watching this one again! It was a lot of fun. Don't come into this movie expecting an Oscar sort of movie. It's Hocus Pocus. It's campy, it's fun, and it's ridiculous. It's enjoyable and a good sequel! 💜

More than just another slasher

This is honestly one of my favorite horror movies. I always come back to this one; it's unsettling, with a mix of some dark humor, and has so many twists and turns. It's incredibly well done and won't let you down if you're looking for a dark bloodbath of a movie that's worth your attention!

Not all it was chalked up to be
27 January 2022
I heard this movie was brutal and hard to watch because of the gore. But it was mostly hard to watch because of how bad it is. The cgi is a bar below YouTube graphics, the "horror" bits are laughable. We were laughing throughout most of it. It's awful.

Enjoyable if you don't dig too deep

This movie has its pros and cons. It's interesting and definitely keeps you watching. I enjoyed it, despite some pretty dumb decisions on Jules part. I enjoyed the chemistry, tension, and overall what the two main actresses brought to the film. They were convincing their roles, and overall, o liked this movie :)

Bizarre
11 September 2021
This movie is extremely trippy, and a very different kind of horror. The dread is set from the very beginning, and it doesn't pull any punches. If you're looking for more of a monster flick with creeping around in tip toes, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for a new way to experience horror, you should definitely give this movie a try. It is gory beyond belief and disturbing, and it accomplishes everything it sets out to do!

Cheesy, but good!
11 September 2021
This is one of my favorite horror movies! Forget the rest of the series, this is the one worth watching. It's creepy, and while many of the scares are predictable, they're definitely still effective. This is one of the best 2010's horror movies!

Not Good
11 September 2021
I have no idea why this is rated so highly. After the first Conjuring movie, I was looking forward to this, but it's honestly laughingly bad. The script is poorly written, the scares are predictable, the CGI was hilariously awful. Not something you'd expect for such a high budget movie.

No spark

This movie felt very plain and there really wasn't much chemistry between Belle and the Beast. While I love Emma Watson as Belle in general, I think she was misdirected. Lacked charm.

A Few Slips, But Still Good
24 August 2019
So after reading some of the reviews, I went in a bit apprehensive about this movie. But I was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely not the best horror movie I've seen, there are quite a few loose ends and frustrating acts committed by characters, but I enjoyed watching it. It mostly seems to be carried by the adults of the film, namely Octavia, but the actors for the teens of the film did a decent job.
