I've seen this film today ( June 2001) for the first time because the Italian version is just now availabe. I think this is a very particular film where you can find horror and humor at the same time ( Troma style). Special and visual effects are very simple but there is some good scene ( in the uncut version) I suggest to see it if you want to see a different kind of horror and if you want to enjoy yourself with an original film. Keep out from children ( violence ).

Captain Power and the soldier of the future was transmitted on Italian t.v. at the end of 80'.I think that this and Visitors was the best series of 80'.In this serial appears for the first time the use of digital special effects for example to create the unforgettable Soaron. The atmosphere is dark, but the plot has a good development. Certainly the actors are not perfect, sometimes seems like they are children who are playing. The best idea was the Power suits, when I was a child I dreamed to have one.This serial didn't have a lot of success in Italy, so it was transmitted just once and I'm still waiting for another. POWER ON

This is one of my favourite films; I've seen it when I was 16 and it gave me a lot of emotions.This film is "gothic"; ligth and sun never appears.The scenes are all dark and rainy.Music are very powerful and ideal to give the idea of chaos.Sometimes you can't understand what's happen because it is too dark.Note the scenes where Eric realizes his crows.

I think that this is the best film about Vietnam because it is very realistic, the story is very easy: a group of American soldiers must conquest a hill, but it is very well defended by Viet soldiers, so they made a lot of assault and at the end only two soldiers survive and they write on a piece of paper "welcome to hamburger hill" to remember that to conquest that hill they was destroyed. There are tragic scenes in particular when soldier die and the scenes about the assaults. I suggest to see it and compare it with "Full metal Jacket".
