Stallone has delivered a superb ending to the Rocky Series
23 December 2006
I loved this movie. And there were some scenes which brilliantly give out a simple message - don't ever give up and give your best shot. The scene where Rocky lets his heart out in front of Paulie in the meat-packing room was emotional. Also, the speech given by Rocky to the boxing license officials and to his son were great. They could have shown more training footage, but nonetheless Stallone at 60 was in great shape. I can't wait for this movie to come on DVD next year in April or May. Go see this film, even those of you out there who have never seen Rocky before - you will find this movie nice. 10 out 10 all the way.

Best Bond Movie in last two decades
16 November 2006
This is the best Bond movie I have seen so far, Daniel Craig fits the Bond role completely. Enjoyed the premiere here in London. A very good prequel to the bond series. Therez a parkour scene in the beginning which gets you glued to the screen is amazing. No fancy gadgets or cartoon-type villains which gives the movie a realistic feel. Worthwhile watch and looks best in the cinema. Compared to the original novel, the movie has been given a modern setting and a few twists in the story as well. I guess the sequel would evolve the Bond character even further. The dry wit and rugged look will definitely have Daniel Craig carve out his own identity as one of the Bond characters over the years very well ! 10 out of 10 for this one

Another great Korean film..
4 May 2006
When I rented this movie, I was expecting more of a love story packed with a few special effects. The last korean movie I had rented was R-point - which was a mixture of Full Metal Jacket and Blair Witch Project. Ong-Bak is a thai movie and that too rocked. But what I saw in this movie was completely different. Many similar stories have come through before in Western Movies, but this one adds a bit of style'n'class with an ironic ending. The lead actor goes through his role with ease, but mostly it is the director who deserves praise. The fight sequences, the poise and the very calm reactions of the actors in tense situations is what attracts and impresses audiences. I was a bit confused at the ending though, and took time to realize the irony which the director is trying to bring out in the movie. A must see film for those who like international action flicks !

F.I.S.T. (1978)

Stallone's finest acting is seen here...
3 May 2006
Stallone, known for physique, bulging biceps, droopy eyes and slurred speech has proved audiences that he is one of the finest actors. Personally, he is one of my favourite actors since I was a kid and movies like Rocky, Copland, First-Blood (rambo), Lock-Up, Nighthawks, Oscar and Asassins have also proved the same. F.I.S.T begins with the story of a struggling blue collar worker back in the 1930s of USA. He tries to live the American dream, but is only betrayed, kicked and disgusted with life around him. His character Johnny Kovak moves to become an organiser for Labour Unions in the first half of the movie. The second half shows him becoming older as president of the Trucking Labour Unions and the dirty deals he is forced to undertake to ensure welfare of the workers. The film is based on the lines of Rocky as a struggling man trying to cope, added with a realistic ending. A must see for Stallone fans and people who like Drama movies. Bill Conti's score is moving and Norman Jewison's direction is amazing. A satisfactory story line combined with some powerful performances will impress you. I am quite surprised as to why this film is so underrated !

Raw..bloody action at its best !!
17 December 2003
Van Damme hasn't delivered a hit since a long time. He's finally outdone himself this time. The movie does not have the usual martial arts and special effects, but good wrestling and street brawl techniques. What we have here is raw..bloody action at its best!! The movie like most prison themed movies is about survival. Van Damme doesn't talk much (thats good) but delivers good expression and emotes very well in particular scenes.

Some of the fight sequences and torture scenes have been done amazingly well. The story is not bad and believe me ,I was told that the movie would be crap, instead the movie was better than i expected. The film does have a few real good moments. Overall, its a good film..nothing exceptionally great, but at the same time unforgettable. It's worth a look !

An Amazing FRENCH movie..!!
22 December 2001
Even though i hardly know french...i found this movie quite interesting. The english subtitles were more than sufficient.I have never seen a french movie in the cinema..in my entire life..but this one was good. The choreography was awesome.Therez martial arts, sword-fighting, horror. The only thing i didn't like abt the movie was..it was too long.It dragged a bit in the middle. But the ending was pretty good. The 17th century matrix-style action just pumps up the adrenaline. Mani dominates the screen with his presence. the other hero also does well.Action/ adventure/horror lovers...GO watch this movie !!!

One of the most thrilling prison movies ever. Stallone rules !!
25 November 2001
The movie starts off pretty slow. But the pace picks up. I enjoyed every minute of it. It shows the tortures and wars that go on in prison. Sutherland (drumcoole) plays the bad warden. Stallone (leone) plays the role of an an escaped convict who is in a good low-security prison having just 6 weeks to finish his term. Drumcoole gets him transferred to one of the worst prisons ever for taking his past vengeance.Drumcoole wants to take him in for life. And Leone has got to resist this and has to submit to his torture. But when it starts getting personal,Leone can't take it any more and wants to break out.But he breaks his golden rule " D.T.A "(Don't trust anyone). Stallone is in great shape and there are excellent realistic fight sequences in the movie. The last 15 minutes are the movie's best. A must-see for all Stallone fans as well as for the ppl who like thrillers or prison movies. Its a bomb-ass movie !!!

One of the best Indian action movies i've ever seen !!
2 March 2001
This movie shows one of the best performances Sunny Deol has ever given. He plays a young boxer who is caught in a web of betrayal , deceit, drugs and street fighting. He is accused of killing his brother and then vows revenge on the people responsible for his brother's death. The film has many notable starts such as Om puri,Amrish Puri,Meenakshi sheshadri & Raj babber. The action sequences are one of the best seen in any Indian film in the 90's.
