The Mandalorian: Chapter 17: The Apostate (2023)
Turned it off after 15 minutes
Didn't liked the characters of Boba Fett, so I didn't watch it. Consider me surprised when I learned, Disney continued The Mandalorian story there. I was expecting there would be a some kind of intro to explain what happenened between season 2 and season 3. There was an intro, but only for events in prior season which we learn about in the next 10 minutes anyway! What a stupid and blatant move.
I definitely won't watch Boba Fett and looking at the episodes ratings for this season it seem to have lost a lot of appeal in relation to the two earlier seasons.
I probably could find what happened in the episodes, but I rather wrote this review. Disney blew it. I'm out.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022)
What a waste of time!
I never understood less how a movie could get several 10 ratings. It's too fake for a biopic (which I gladly new), but unfortunately not even close to funny for a comedy.
It reminds me a little of movies like "Naked gun" or "Hot shots" but without any jokes. I don't know how this is even possible. I think if this movie would have been released back then it would have failed so bad at the box office.
I didn't laugh or even smiled once and only watched it to the end because of Radcliffe. Acting in general was ok, but the story is just awful. Felt like a too long intro to a music video or SNL skit.
Do yourself a favor and turn on Al's music instead or watch UHF for the 100th time. That would be time MUCH better spent.
The Orville: Shadow Realms (2022)
Worst episode in years.. in Sci-Fi in general
I can neither fathom people think this episode is "perfect", nor how anyone in production could ever sign off such a script.
Won't go into details, but Mercer is warned and decides to take the risk, yet there are no precautions held whatsoever. No surprises next 20 minutes, everyone above the age of 12 and have watched a Sci-Fi show before should exactly know, what happens.
The only "turn" is the end, which is even more stupid then everything before. There's absolutely no sense in the decision which is made here.
After two great seasons "The Orville" is allowed one complete failure and I will watch the next episode, but if this is the beginning of declining writing, I'm outta here. The improved effects alone won't make it for me.
The Rookie: Day in the Hole (2022)
Thank you...
For making this ridiculus episode the season finale. If this would have been a couple of episodes ago, I probably would haved finished the season anyway, expecting a nice season finale. Like they did in the first season for example. This way it just ended for me and just won't watch next season anymore.
And the producers should be glad it's renewed for another season. Imagine it would be the season finale.
This episode's list of "moments to shake the head about" is just TOO long, but the absolute worst have to be the the doppelganger. I know the show started with some lighthearted moments in the early season, but it became a comedy. A bad one unfortunatly.
Naomi: Fallout (2022)
So boring
Another "Naomi, you're not ready for this"-episode plus several minutes of teenagers dancing. The actual story for this episode would have good for 10 minutes tops.
The season is MUCH too long in general. If they would have tightened it, it could have been much better. Like 8 episodes instead of 13.
They were playing the "mystery card" far too long. The season finale impossibly can pay off. Will finish the season, but if they would be a second, from today's perspective, I don't think I would watch that.
The Rookie: Simone (2022)
Horrible
Painful dialogue and terribly unrealistic... even for "The Rookie" standards. Definitly not gonna waste my time with the second part and there's no chance in hell I woud watch the spin off.
I always wonder "Who are the people greenlighting such a car crash of an episode? Are they just back from a coma or never watched TV before?"
