The O.C. (2003)
The best show ever,
I heard this show was really good when I read reviews for it on different web-sites, so I went ahead and bought the first season box set. And after watching the first episode of the O.C., for the next 24 hours I was in front of my T.V.,completely in awe by this show.
Season one is like one long movie. Everything flows perfectly. You got your funny characters like Seth and Anna, and Luke (I just thought Luke was really funny, i.e. the situations he gets himself into),then you got your troubled teens, Marissa and Ryan. You got the , ummmm, open-minded mom, Julie. And you got really hot girls throughout. The acting is perfect, except a little of Marissas, which just rolls off your shoulders, really...
The thing that I like best about this show, though, is its use of music. I, never, have seen music used better to create a vibe for a show like the O.C. Some of the best parts i'm talking about is the "Hallelujah" song used at the end of "the Ties that Bind", and the song "Dice" used in the episode "the Countdown". Its awesome! Check this out, IDK about season 2 or 3, because I haven't seen them yet, but season 1 will get you hooked. 10 out of 10
Waiting... (2005)
Funny, funny, funny!
I didn't know what to expect when this movie got to our house from Net-Flix, but I went into it open-minded. This movie blew me away. I constantly had to pause the movie so I could stop laughing. Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris, and Justin Long are hilarious! The best thing about this movie, I think, is its a movie you watch like 100 times, and every time you catch something new, whether its s a new joke, relationships between the characters, or just some random scene, there's always something new when you watch it.
Not only was this movie really entertaining, but its inspired me to become a waiter, if thats anything to brag about.
If you want to see the funniest movie of 2005, watch this, its defiantly worth it. Perfect 10 out of 10!
Scary Movie 4 (2006)
Its hard to say...
It was hard to rate this movie. It had some definite funny parts, and some horribly bad parts, and I originally wasn't gunna review it. But after seeing Date Movie, which was the worst movie i've ever seen, I felt the need to point out some things about Scary Movie 4 that Date Movie is obviously lacking. O.k. where to start...
Scary Movie 4 has generally good characters. Anna Faris and Reginna Hall were overall really funny. The jokes in this movie made sense, had many pop-culture references, weren't extremely dragged out, and flowed with the over-all story, wheres Date Movies jokes where just one, hollow, interchangeable joke after another...
There were some "not so funny parts", such as the very end. And the constant reference to rappers throughout the movie(Chingy, Lil John, etc.), I guess to reach out to the younger culture. I'm 15 and I just found it annoying, not funny.
But overall the funny parts overpower the not funny parts. This movie isn't as good as number 3, which wasn't as good as number 2, which wasn't as good as number 1, but over-all, its a pretty good movie. I would of origanlly given this movie a 5 or a 6, but after seeing Date Movie, i'm grateful for people like David Zucker, and i'm giving it a 7. Its worth renting, seeing once, having a good laugh, then returning it to the DVD store. Its a single serving movie (Fight Club reference)...
The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005)
Awesome movie!
I was really skeptical when I first heard of this movie. I didn't like Steve Carrell in Bruce Almighty, but I did like him in Anchorman. Both times he was a supporting character, so I was curious what a movie starring him would be like. And it turned out to be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
With people in it like Paul Rudd (who was hilarious in Wet Hot American Summer), Romany Malco, and Seth Rogen, this movie was a full of excellent supporting characters.
It has plenty of hot girls in the movie, also, so that is a plus.
Most the jokes are improvised, so it makes for some hilarious dialog. Especially the, "you know how I know your gay" gag. That never gets old.
Its pretty obvious what this movie is about, the title pretty much says it. But for more details, its about a man named Andy, who has taken a vow a celibacy after mis-adventures in his youth. Life seems to be going fine until he meets his match, Trish, who owns an E-Bay store across the street. So his bodies at Smart-Tech help him over come his problem.
The movie is Awesome! Get it, watch it, then watch it again. It never gets old, 10 out of 10
Batoru rowaiaru (2000)
Incredible movie!
What can I say? This is the best movie ever made. I can't even begin to describe how good this movie is. The plot is al ready on IMDb so i'll skip that, and i'll just say this was the best movie i've ever seen. Watch it, its incredible! 10 out of 10
Never before have I seen a movie where 9th graders kill each other and die. It was like an seeing Star Wars for the first time back in the 70s. Hopefully, this movie will open a brand new era in horror. I'm so sic of 20-something-year-olds playing high school kids getting killed off by in-breeds. This movie is fresh, original, and like nothing I've ever seen. I'm gunna go watch it again now.....
Date Movie (2006)
Worst Movie Ever
This is by far the worst movie I have ever seen. Not only was it not funny, it was completely stupid! Every joke in the movie that had potential to be funny, was extremely dragged out to the point where you just felt awkward that you were watching such a horrible movie. The thing that just really screwed up this movie was the opening. Where Napoleon Dynamite is there and he keeps saying gosh. THAT WAS SO STUPID! Its wasn't even funny. "DOn't vote for Pedro" I meen seriously, who wrote this? That seems like something a 5 year old would think is funny. Stick with Not Another Teen Movie or the Scary Movie franchise. Date Movie is the most horrible thing that has happened since Carrie Underwood put out that Jesus take the Wheel song.
In case you couldn't tell by the trailer, this movie sucked! I'd give it a negative number but the lowest IMDb gives is a 1.
Wedding Crashers (2005)
Pure Gold!!!
This movie, is with out a doubt, the funniest movie i've ever seen. It has all the things that make a movie great! Great actors, hot actresses, funny parts throughout, a good story, and not to many cliché parts.
This movie is about two men named John and Jeremy. They crash weddings in order to pick up chicks. After crashing the secretaries wedding, they both fall for his two beautiful daughters. Having to spend a weekend with them, they try to get them to fall in love with them too. Well, sorta. Reverse that with Jeremies girlfriend.
This movie has all the right ingredients. There are tits in the movie, how-ever, not some steamy sex scene, the one where you feel un-comfortable watching the movie with your parents, its a brief shot of the tits, so its not over-done.
The comedy is hilarious. The jokes flow well, and both characters, although different, make jokes of the same caliber. So many quotes came out of this movie that I repeat around my friends, such as, "Did you play the motor-boat?". Its priceless.
The girls are really hot. Especially Gloria, but I have a weakness for red-heads. Rachel McAdams is looking good as ever, and the extras seen at the wedding look good as well.
The music flows well with whats going on in the movie. And the characters are all unique and funny in there own way.
Over-all, WATCH THIS MOVIE! It is well worth it. 10 out of 10
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Awesome!
I loved Spiderman 1, and Spiderman 2 was even better. The story was cleverly put together, with an actual good story to a super villain. Spiderman struggles with his two personalities, and eventually decides which one will continue on in everyday life. His love problems deepin with Mary-Jane, and he finds it even harder to live two lives, balancing his crime fighting time, and his actual job.
The special effects are really good, it makes you wanna play Spiderman 2 the Game, because you get this sense that you are spiderman.
Some things you wanted to happen in the first one play out in this movie, such as Spidermans secret identity gets revealed to certain people. Also, some future villains are fore-shadowed.
Over-all, being a huge fan of Spiderman, I loved this movie. It was great and I highly recommend it!
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)
Not as good as I hoped,
This is just like a Michael Bay film. It lacks story and is filled with action. After watching this movie nearly 10 times, I've finally understood the plot. There was none! Well, hardly none, you got Jane Smith working for an all-girls agency, and John Smith working for Vince Vauhgn??? Well, then they get married and live boring lives together. Then throughout the movie their angencies are trying to set them up to kill each other. With some extremely cheesy dialogue, like when Angelina says, "Whos your daddy now?", and two main characters that are impervious to bullets (i'm talking ofcoarse about the closing scene where they miraculously don't get hit by anything), this movie wasn't what I hoped for. Some good parts are the fight scenes with brad and angelina, and the chase sequences. Its a good action movie, but only that.
Go into it expecting 1 dimensional characters, no plot, and lots of guns and bullets being shot around....
American Pie 2 (2001)
My Favorite Pie
This movie was pretty good. Its a lot of the jokes from the first one used over. I agree with the others in saying, WATHC THE FIRST ONE FIRST! Otherwise you'll be asking questions the entire movie. Plus, so many things are ruined if you haven't seen the first one.
This movie is about the Four dudes, (Jims, Oz, Kevin, and Finch)...(and Stifler) and they have all changed since going to college, but re-unite to party in Michigan for the summer. Basically, even though it says they have changed, they really haven't. Jims is still the geeky dude who tried desperately to get laid, but has all sorts of mis-adventures. Oz is still the sensitive jock, who talks all softly to his girlfriend. Kevin is still the "not-so-heterosexual" friend who wants to do everything together. Finch is still weird and obsessed with Stiflers mom. Stifler is still very annoying, says the "F" word every other word, and gets lots of chicks.
We also see some, and meet new, minor characters. Such as Jims Dad, who is there for all his misadventures, Stiflers brother, who like this little 8 year old and extremely annoying, and Oz's girlfriend, who has become a little more kinky since the first Pie.
Well, this movie has its funny parts, its corny parts, and its cliché parts, but overall, its pretty good.
Superman (1978)
The best movie i've seen made before 1980
I watched this movie after watching Superman Returns, in order to better ready myself for the next two SUperman movies being made. I thought this movie was very good, considering the time it was made.
The special effects aren't very special, but if you go into this movie expecting to see Superman Returns effects, then you will be disappointed. Go into it open-minded, expecting to see a film made in the late 70's, and you won't be dis-appointed.
The basic story follows Supermans origins, on Krypton, and a little backstory or Jor-El, Supermans dad. As Superman comes to Earth, he falls for Lois Lane, who falls for Superman, not Clark Kent. So then CLark and Superman, the same people, fight for her affections, along with their battle with Lex Luther.
Some corny parts in the movie include how Clarks clothes kinda fade out into his Superman outfit, and some cheesy dialogue between Superman and Lois, but then again, I don't know how they talked back in the late 70's.
Overall, this movie is worth your time, especially, if your a new Superman fan, as am I. So check it out!
Superman Returns (2006)
Overall, pretty good
This movie was pretty good. Of coarse it had its cliché' moments, but you get that with any comic book movie. Having personally never seen any of the previous Superman movies, I found this one easy to follow. It was a bit long, but it all had to do with the plot, un-like King Kong, which was extremely dragged out. I'm glad the citizens of "I forget which city Superman protects" don't hate Superman for saving people, unlike Spiderman, where everyone pushes him around and they want to arrest him. Bryan Singer did an overall good job in this movie. If you like X-Men 1 and 2, most likely you'll like Superman Returns, so check it out...
