Absolute Garbage!!!!.
16 June 2017
Zero stars out of Ten. I don't know what moron wrote the Wikipedia page on this movie, but if you get a chance to read it, everything is 180 degrees off. This piece of sh1t should never have been made. I guess William Shatner, Dale Dye, Danny Trejo and others either lost a bar bet or are so broke that the $500 day rate was worth it.

The "Background" section of Wikipedia states that the makers of this steaming pile of dog sh1t were dismayed at the portrayal of military members in movies. If that's true, why did they purposefully portray every cliché ever believed about Soldiers?

As a 30-year U.S. Army veteran, this fly-infested dung heap is an embarrassment to veterans, such that has never been seen before. The Wayans could not make a movie this bad, and if you ever read my other reviews, the Wayans' are at the top of my sh1tty movie maker list.

Don't waste your time with this crap. Don't go see it. Don't buy it. Don't rent it. Don't even waste your time bootlegging it. This is stupid beginning at the 30 second mark, and then just gets worse.

Was this made as a joke?
25 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Zero stars for this movie. As for my summary; I hope it was made as a joke because it could not have been made a serious movie. Mickey Rourke's character was clearly intended to be comic relief, but even that failed. His horrible acting and clown face (a result of his terrible cosmetic surgery)take points away from what was already a low scoring movie. None of the acting was anything more than high-school drama club level.

Terrible writing, poor acting (Dolph Lundgren? Really?) and a failure to at least get WWII uniforms correct make this movie unwatchable. My favorite two scenes; 1. Watching Dolph's character die. 2. Watching the supposedly steel German cannon blown apart like plywood. At least some of the German dialog was correct.

Don't waste your time. If you have to watch it, download it from one of the torrent sites so you don't have to pay. It really is that bad.

What a waste of time
28 June 2015
I seriously believe that the people involved with this film were either drunk or lost a bet to see which of them could write the worst junk released in 2015. They clearly wanted to ride the coattails of the Dwayne Johnson film (not much better), but failed miserably. This garbage is poorly written, more poorly acted, and the effects are laughable. The actors should have just skipped through the scenes holding hands for all of the seriousness they portrayed. Don't pay a penny to watch this. If you have to see it, get it from TPB or KAT. Don't rent it, and don't watch it unless you've already consumed a six-pack, and then only watch it to laugh at the stupidity that somebody put on film. Bad, Bad, bad. IMDb should let me score a -5 for this junk. A wet fart is better.

Quite possibly the worst "serious" movie ever made
4 February 2015
Besides terrible acting and writing, the mistakes in this movie would takes weeks to list, so I'll try to generalize. Uniform mistakes are clearly the result of not having a competent military adviser and a serious lack of funding. There is not one location in the alleged Afghanistan that looks remotely like anything in Afghanistan. The MEDEVAC helicopters shown after the first ambush are Marine, but the pilots are Army, and the interiors of the helicopters are not the model shown flying. Civilian doctors (and others) in Afghanistan are issued very specific identification cards, so the Company Commander (who is much, much too old to be a Captain) could have easily verified their identity. Despite alleged former military experience, none of the Grandparents correctly handles a weapon. During the first ambush in the quarry,(and several other times) the U.S. Soldier on the truck is using an enemy weapon mounted on a model of truck that was never used in Afghanistan. All explosions are clearly propane and gas explosions with no attempt to replicate actual explosions. There are violations of military protocol and tactics that are too numerous to list. The bottom line is that this movie was a waste of money to make, and should be an embarrassment for anybody associated with this dreck. IMDb should allow a "0" rating for garbage like this.

Very Very Very bad
16 July 2014
This "movie", Ladies and Gentlemen, is the reason IMDb should have a "Zero" rating. We, The Good People of the World, must be able to exercise our Roger Ebert given right to vote "Zero Stars" for a load of crap like Apocalypse Pompeii.

  • Writing that is worse than, well anything I can think of - Worse acting than a Wayan brothers movie - Worse directing than Michael Bay (Where are you Alan Smithee?) - Laughable special effects - Etc - Etc - Etc

This is a movie so bad that you should not even download it from (insert your favorite torrent site here)

I hope this was meant as a comedy
17 June 2012
No spoilers below. Nothing could spoil this drek more than the writing and acting has already done.

Horrible movie.

I saw this movie this afternoon at a military dining facility in Iraq.(Yes people, your President and Congress lied to you. We are still in Iraq training their military) The twenty or so people watching simply would not stop making jokes about the stupid dialog, the reaaallllyyy bad acting, and the seemingly obvious departures from anything scientific.

I have a Masters in Aeronautics, so I know a little about aircraft and spacecraft. Watching the antics of the shuttle in flight was hilarious to say the least. Not one aspect of the shuttle mission, from launch to landing, was correct. It was great to watch the shuttle, with no source of fuel, ignite and use its main engines. The "dance of the shuttle" through the small asteroid field was the best part; flying the shuttle like an airplane that had airflow over its control surfaces.

Wow; the writer of this crap was obviously high on something when he puked out this garbage onto paper.

Don't waste your time. Even if you get to watch it for free, like I did, it will still be a waste of time.

Lie to Me: Moral Waiver (2009)
Season 1, Episode 2
2/10
I like the show, but not this episode
2 October 2009
I'm in Iraq right now and have finally made it through the entire first season on Blu-Ray. While I like the show as a whole, and Tim Roth and Kelli Williams in particular, this episode actually made me angry at certain points. The writer(s) of this episode obviously has/have no personal knowledge of anything military, nor the Army specifically. The US Army has no "Platoon Commanders" and no Enlisted person is ever referred to as "Sir". There is no such thing as an "Article 32 Court Martial Proceeding", it's an "Article 32 Investigation" and is the military equivalent of a Grand Jury. Even a JAG officer would never were his dress green uniform to a rifle range, and certainly not allow his epaulets to be outside of his collar at any time. Even if an epaulet slipped out, any other Soldier would have spotted it and made a correction. Civilians (hell, anybody) on a rifle range with no helmet? Come on; if you're going to write an episode focusing on the military (even if you're going to bash us) at least have somebody with some relevant military experience review it. Those of us in uniform take a lot of crap from the entertainment business, and we can take it when it's right and justified (pssst: we even protect your right to criticize us) but please, at least get the uniforms, mannerisms, customs and courtesies a little closer to reality. Can you do that little favor for us, please? Two stars for this episode, but only for Kelli Williams, who can do no wrong.

I was forced to watch this "movie" as punishment
17 January 2007
No joke. I was at a friend's house and somehow the discussion got around to "what are the worst movies ever made?" After a few minutes of discussing anything made by van Damme, Stallone (except the first Rocky film), or any Wayans, my friend's wife Shelley literally jumped up and shouted, "just watch this piece of trash Barry wasted $19.99 on."

She told us that we would be sorry.....and she was right.

The six of us had watched less than ten minutes of of this drek before people started trying to turn off the DVD player. It was unbelievable how hard Shelley was laughing AT US as we suffered through the pain that this crap caused us.

I'm worried about Alyson Hannigan; did she lose a bet and was forced to be in this movie? If she did it willingly, then she, at a minimum, needs a new agent.

Hey IMDb: We need to be able to vote "0" just because of movies like this.
