A martfüi rém (2016)
Good
Difficult to watch, but excellent portrait of an era where denial was the best crime policy.
Some scenes are gruesome and disturbing, but crime, specially, serial crime is not glamorous.
Donnie Brasco (1997)
MIssed opportunity
Donnie Brasco could have been a great film, but casting Johnny Depp as a tough Sicilian American agent who goes undercover with mafiosi doesn't work. I know there is something called "acting" but it is impossible to believe for a minute that Johnny Depp could pass a delinquent and keep company with mafia characters for more than five minutes.
Pacino, plays, well, Pacino as usual and get the job done even if they portrait his character as a likable villain.
It is a pity, the story could have been better if the producer would have decided to pick someone who doesn't look like he has just been in a boy band. (Depp has done some good things later, but not this one).
