The Privileged Planet (2004)
My Favorite Movie of 2004
Absolutely stunning visuals. This movie is an attempt at scientifically deciding whether or not the planet Earth is placed within not only the solar system, but the entire universe, by an intelligent force. Make sure that you watch every one of the extras on the DVD. They are just as fascinating as the main movie.
Quite likely the largest issue addressed is the uniqueness of the earth's position to OBSERVE everything else in the universe based on it's position within the Milky Way in all 3 axis, x, y, & z (though not defined that way in the movie).
Strong evolutionists will not enjoy this movie at all, so they shouldn't bother with it since it will just irritate them. I found it very logical in it's presentation. The movie never indicates that God created the earth or universe. Essentially, the movie presents data without any conclusions. It leaves you with questions.
The Lemon Grove Kids Meet the Monsters (1968)
I saw this Movie in the Theater-1970ish, with live show
Born in 1965, I can't say much about this movie. I remember, as a little kid being scared silly, since there were 'live' monsters in the audience at the theater during the movie. This was the most scared I ever was at a movie.....ok, so I was probably 5 years old. E-mail me if you saw this show in the theater back then.
Metropolitan (1989)
Makes my Top-10 list
Ever so glad I saw a trailer for this in a Blockbuster rental tape, this movie was quickly one of my favorites. Nobody cares how the movie ends, since the dialog is the key to this film. I had never paid attention to a director's or producers name until METROPOLITAN. I will watch any Whit Stillman movie that comes out.
If you enjoy this movie, watch BARCELONA, then LAST DAYS OF DISCO. There are some interesting 'ties' between the three, though not important to any of the individual stories by any means at all.
Read all of the other people's comments to learn what it is about. I just give it thumbs up with each hand.
Not full of belly laughs, but quite a few "I wish I could say that in real life", or better yet, "I wish I could think of things like that in real life to say to my friends, and even to strangers".
