Although I often watch this show because I remember watching it as a little girl and still enjoy the plots and acting, my husband watches because he enjoys seeing all of the 1950's cars. He drools over them because they are in pristine condition, a condition that is impossible to find even at car shows. He especially likes the the late 50's Chrysler Corporation cars. He also enjoys seeing the Los Angeles area locations, especially Griffith Park where so many of the chases take place. He also enjoys all of the train stations. Many of them are no longer there, and the ones that remain aren't in the beautiful condition they are in this show. Surprisingly quite a few shows have people getting on and off passenger trains. I would recommend this show if you enjoy police procedural and 1950's ambiance.

If you like stories with happy endings, you will love this show. All of the dogs on this show have had a very hard start in life, and have been rescued from the street, a shelter or a puppy mill.

They are taken by the four people who appear on this program, and they are cleaned up, trained (especially housebroken) and matched with people who have homes and lifestyles that are compatible with each individual dog.

For some reason each dog also has a custom made dog house built for him by the carpenter on the show. He even built a portable one on a trailer for a couple who adopted a dog from Iraq and lived in a RV. I am not sure why anyone (person or dog) needs to have these very large, elaborate dog houses, but it is always interesting to see what is built.

I really enjoy this and am really impressed by the effort made to give these dogs a new lease on life. I haven't seen it on the Animal Planet for several months, and I hope it will be continued in the near future. If they play it in reruns and you haven't seen it before, be sure and watch.

This "thriller" just goes on and on. About two thirds of this movie don't really seem to advance the plot, but are put in because they were fun to shoot perhaps. I refer especially to the car chase scene and the scene where the hero is exposed to a psychological evaluation which used a picture montage that seemed to be never ending. I found myself unable to keep my attention on what was happening, and found that I had not missed anything when I next started to pay attention. At the end of the movie many characters are left without any clear indications of what they were really doing and what eventually happened to them.. I don't know if the book that this was adapted from made sense, if so something was lost in the translation to a screenplay. Unless you just like to watch movies that feature a young Warren Beatty or see Earl Hindeman with all of his face exposed, there is not much to recommend this.

This movie is based on Josephine Tey's "A Shilling for Candles.' The original story was very good and very different than the plot in this movie. I am not sure why it is supposed to be based on the Josephine Tey book, as, except for the character names, there is little similarity in the plot and the movie suffers for it. Nova Pilbeam is slightly older than the character of Erica Burgoyne in the book, and so they have changed this into a love story that was not in the book. The original story had many twist and turns, and the reader knows much more about the murder victim. This knowledge makes the action of the story make sense If Hitchcock had followed the plot of the book, he would have had a much better story and much better movie. This love story-man on the run movie is just mediocre where it could have been really good. I'm sure they could have made Erica act younger and made Tisdale more of a loser (as he is in the book), and this would have been so much better.

The Heiress has to be one of the greatest movies ever made. There is nothing about it that I would change. The cast is perfect. Montgomery Clift is so wonderful as Morris Townsend. His physical beauty makes it easy to understand how someone as gauche as Catherine Sloper could overcome her shyness and respond to him. Olivia de Havilland is almost too good looking to be the unattractive Miss Sloper, however her great acting overcomes her beauty, and the viewer readily accepts her in the part. Ralph Richardson is perfect as Dr. Sloper. With his disdain for his daughter and his idealization of her dead mother, it is easy to see how his attitude has frozen his daughter in her insecurity about everything that she does. Miriam Hopkins is the perfect airhead social climber who does have affection for her niece, but becomes so wrapped up in the overall romance of the situation that she doesn't act in the best interests of her niece but in the best interests of the romantic drama that is unfolding around her. In her biography, Edith Head talks about researching and designing the clothes for this movie. Certainly the costumes greatly enhance Olivia de Havilland's ability to play this part and be accepted as the plain and graceless Catherine Sloper. A great movie that shouldn't be missed.

"Heartland" is a wonderful depiction of what it was really like to live on the frontier. The hard work and individual strength that were needed to survive the hardships of the climate and the lack of medical care are blended with the camaraderie and the interdependence of the settlers. The drama was especially meaningful because the story is based on the diaries of real people whose descendants still live there. It was also nice to see the west inhabited by real people. No one was glamorous or looked as if they had just spent a session with the makeup or costume department. Conchatta Ferrell is just wonderful. She is an example of the strong, persevering people who came to Wyoming in the early 20th century and let no hardship stand in their way of a new life in a new land.

I too enjoyed all of the shows that I was able to see. The one with Conan O'brien was truly hilarious, and many others with numerous guests were always interesting, informative and entertaining. I am not sure when this show ceased production or why, but it was a loss as so few shows that are talk shows have any redeeming qualities. There is something very interesting and entertaining about Mizrahi. He has good rapport with his guests and seem genuinely interested in his interaction with them. On one show he had Natalie Portman who is really adorable. He designed a really cute dress for her on the spur of the moment.

Jon Cryer is a yuppie stockbroker who has become a government witness for a mobster's trial for fraud. When it becomes apparent that his life is in danger, Jon's character decides to run and hideout as a high school senior. He has a new life in a small town where his aunt and cousin live, while the mobster's gang and the FBI are hunting for him. This is a funny, if somewhat improbable, story made very watchable by the likability of all of the main characters. The most unlikely plot line has the main character, Max Hauser, and a janitor living in the basement of the local high school. After a semester, this housing arrangement would most likely be noticed in real life, but it makes for some funny scenes of Max rollerskating through the hallways at night.

The World of Henry Orient is lots of fun to watch. Both Paula Prentiss and Peter Sellers are very funny. Peter Sellers uses a great New York accent when he is being his real self, and Paula Prentiss' jittery reaction to his tries to seduce her are hilarious. Angela Lansbury is the ultimate bad mother and is somewhat like her character in The Manchurian Candidate. The two young girls who play the main characters are wonderful, and if they had a career after this movie it wasn't a memorable one. Their characters are portrayed a little too youthful for fourteen yearolds, even for the early sixties, but both of the characters are interesting and lots of fun to watch as they run around the New York City of the early 1960's. This is a great movie to watch when you want to forget the real world and step back into an America of a bygone era.

I have watched this movie several times, and I am always entertained. Danny Devito and Richard Dreyfuss are both very good in their roles, and they manage to be both funny and believable at the same time.

Those of us that were around in the early sixties can really appreciate the recreation of that time. The costumes, hairdos and and general look of Baltimore are dead on and transported me right back to that era. All of the supporting players who play the other salesmen are really entertaining, The scene where all of them are sitting around breakfast discussing "Ponderosa" made me laugh out loud and remember watching "Ponderosa" myself. I really recommend this to anyone who remembers that time or who wishes to see what the average person was thinking about before the sixties became the decade of sex , drugs and rock and roll.

It was amazing to see a couple let TV cameras into such private parts of their lives. I couldn't stop watching, but I also couldn't help comparing this couple's need for the spotlight to most people's idea of private business and family cohesiveness. Danny and Gretchen married on their first date, and have had trouble in their marriage from Danny's drug problem and girl chasing. This show follows both of these people through several weeks of their lives as they go to rehab and to therapy. You get to see them have real problems and try to solve them, and you soon almost feel like a voyeur as you realize that these people are not like the rest of us in their need for attention (and perhaps money). It is fascinating stuff, but I can't believe that having your private life exposed this way could be good for your marriage.
