When this came out it used to be interesting to watch. The contestants seemed quite good and the tasks made sense.
The longer it's gone on the more it's skewed to having contestants who are annoying and seem to be there to make a name for themselves, but to be honest it's the programme itself that's led to that.
The tasks they're given and the way the show is presented is so manufactured now and clearly edited/scripted to be that way.
The sooner this is scrapped the better!

This film was okay, but there were points where I didn't have a clue what was going on. Seemed like plot was connected to things you were expected to have seen in other films in the franchise. Not sure what all the hype with these films is based on this one. There were some good parts, but fairly average overall.

I've just finished bingeing this and didn't watch it week to week. It was mostly good to watch and had some funny moments. I pretty much liked it, some of the designs were great, but there were quite a few faults that brought it down for me. Mostly with the format and judging though. I was also put off by some of the contestants and their backbiting.
It often seemed a bit too geared to the drama/conflict angle and it never made sense to me at points why they were in teams or why they were suddenly given random things in the brief (chocolate themed hotel rooms?!). I would have preferred to have seen more of them designing, working with their clients and talking about how and why they were doing things as they did in the GIDC.
The judging seemed really weird as well. They were conflicting themselves all the time. Telling someone to listen to the client more and design for them and then the next minute telling another contestant to push the client more and show their off their own style. There were multiple episodes where it seemed unfair on who got sent home. People were kept in when they had a bad week, but then got sent home later when there were worse than theirs. Not sure if it was the judging or the editing or both, but it was a little frustrating. I was pretty surprised by who made it to the final. It kind of made the end result a bit meh...
On the plus side I thought Fearne was a great presenter and brought it up a bit. Not sure if it was just the judges it would have been as good.

Joaquin Phoenix was amazing in this. Oscar probably guaranteed already.
However, for me, the overall film itself was just good. Not sure I found it as amazing as others have seen to. I know it was meant to be different and quite dark, but it's maybe a bit too far that way for me.
Definitely still worth the watch though.

I'll watch this any time I see that it's on TV. Doesn't matter if it's 5 minutes in or halfway through. As soon as I've watched one scene I'm sucked in and will watch it right to the end.
There's something mesmerising about it. The visuals, the soundtrack and voiceover combined with a great story and characters make it.
I still remember the first time I saw it on an old VHS of my parents and was blown away.
A must see film for everyone.
