Both Robert Pattinson and William Defoe offered a brilliant acting performance in the movie. The black and white cinematography made the movie much dark. And it helped to show the insanity , the madness. But the story was a little confusing in some parts and the movie didn't offer anything to clear that.

The story was slow but perfectly narrated . The characters were perfectly built with the back stories. Certainly it was one of the best anime I've ever seen.
