Gangster (2006)
One of the best gangster movies!
The story is great but if it was the real story of Monica Bedi and the gangster it would have been great. Before Shiny Ahuja other actors were given the role but they backed out: Sanjay Dutt: good thing he said no, too old now. John Abraham: biggest mistake in his career. His movies are good but not many people go see them, Gangster is one movie he should have done. Shoaib Akthar: he cant act so good he said no. Actors should have been given the role:Irfan Khan: great actor but not getting big budget movies with dark stories. (See him in Maqbool great stories)Great music, all the songs in that movie are mostly copied from another music not Bollywood music. the music is still great. gotta give it to Pritam for copying music and still making it better than the original. Anurga Basu should make more movies like this. After murder he rushed into Tumsa Nahin Dekha. I hope he does not do the same mistake again. Take your time Anurag. Emraan Hashmi is one of those actors who always has great music in his movies. i guess the luck comes from his uncle Mahesh Bhatt who always had good music no matter how the movies were.
Zinda (2006)
Another great Indian movie gets unnoticed
Copy of old boy backed up with Sanjay direction makes it truly a ride you will never forget. Sanjay and John Abraham go at each other. Everyone knows the plot so I'm not going to say it but the songs are so good. John Abraham's entrance is well-timed. John does a great job as a tycoon businessman. Sanjay, Mahesh chemistry is great as usual. I like the darkness to the movie. The remix of Har Saans is great. One regret this song was not in the movie. John Abraham fans will get to see the dark side of there hero like never before. If u liked BLACK you will love ZINDA. Sanjay wig is really stupid. Lara is hot as a Punjaban
Story of old boy
OH Dae-su is an ordinary Seoul businessman with a wife and little daughter who, after a drunken night on the town, is locked up in a strange, private "prison" for 15 years. No one will tell him why he is there and whom his jailer is, but he is kept in reasonably comfortable quarters and has a TV to keep him company. While watching TV, he discovers that he has been framed for his wife's murder and realizes that, during one of the occasions in which he was knocked out with gas, someone has drawn blood from him and left it at the scene of the crime. The imprisonment lasts for fifteen years until Dae-su finds himself unexpectedly deposited on a grass-covered high-rise rooftop. OH Dae-su is determined to discover who his mysterious enemy is. He gets his first clue when a homeless man hands him a cell phone and a wallet full of cash. Later, while Dae-su is eating in a Japanese restaurant, the phone rings and a voice challenges him to find the reason for his imprisonment. Dae-su blacks out only to awaken in the apartment of the restaurant's pretty, young waitress, Mido. Mido helps him search for his hidden prison, but one night, Dae-su finds Mido exchanging emails with a mysterious stranger who seems to know all about him. Convinced Mido has betrayed him, he continues the search on his own. Dae-su locates his former prison and beats up the gangsters who served as his captors. A tape offers clues as to his enemy's motives, but not his identity. Dae-su blacks out on the street and after being helped into a cab by his mysterious, but still unnamed foe, he ends up back at Mido's. An old friend who owns a cyber café helps Dae-su discover that Mido's emailer, "Evergreen," is indeed the man who had him locked up. Dae-su is enraged by Mido's apparent betrayal, but a face-to-face confrontation with his smooth-talking adversary ends with Dae-Su's conviction that she is innocent. The man gives Dae-su five days to discover who he is and why he imprisoned him. He is told that if he succeeds, the man will kill himself; if he does not, he will kill Mido.
Taxi No. 9 2 11: Nau Do Gyarah (2006)
Indian finest remake
Copy of changing lanes with Indian masala to it. Great movie keeps u in suspense and is unpredictable. Unfortunately average Indian audience will not see it since it does not have the romantic yash raj touch to it. John and Nana give the best performance of there career. Great music. Sameera is to die for. Milan's great director. Deewar was another brilliant film but unfortunately his films always get unrecognized.
Here is the story A party player(John abraham) in a rush to make a court appointment to take original will involving a multi-million dollar trust gets the ride of his life when he sits in the cab of an alcoholic taxi driver(Samuel Jackson), who thinks he is always right and the whole world is wrong. John leaves the scene of the accident and strands the taxi driver, causing him to runaway from the cops. During the process of the post-crash discussion, John accidentally drops the key to the locker for his dad's will he needs to present in court. The judge gives him until tomorrow to present the papers and thus begins a cat and mouse game between the proponents. A few questionable actions later on both parties' part, they finally start questioning their actions and their lives. In the end, both come to new understanding of what is important and appear to be set in new ethical and moral directions.
