Not normally one for Anime but Edgerunners is well worth the time!
13 May 2024
As the title says, I don't really watch these sorts of shows. However, I really enjoyed watching this show. With only 10 episodes total, every episode got me more invested and could not wait to see what was round the corner.

The show captures the games' universe perfectly. All the characters were unique and well written. The story was well thought out and unpredictable at times. Which kept me more intrigued about what was coming. Edgerunners captures Night City from a new perspective and shows how one can be easily pulled into a criminal lifestyle. Even though they were on the path to a more typical path.

Fallout (2024– )
10/10
The show is just as good as the games
12 April 2024
Fallout is 1 of my favourite video games series. I was really skeptical about a TV show since the games already set a really high bar. When bringing something over to a new space in a lot of ways it needs to be just as good, if not better then the originals creation. When Nolan said he enjoyed playing the Fallout games this was a good sign that he understood about the Fallout universe.

Throughout watching the series, it was great fun pointing out so many things from the games. The art style was truly amazing and many things weren't redesigned which I personally thought was a good thing. Certain stuff was actually improved upon like the elevators, vault entrance and fire arms. The story was great and arguably better then the main quest line in the video games. Throughout the series I just wanted to hop into the universe myself. Explore vault 33 and the commonwealth. The series far from exceeded my expectations and I have spent hundreds of hours playing the games. Even if you have never played the games though, the TV show is a separate story and you will easily be able to follow along.

The starvation games
7 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Overall the move had its moments. From what seemed so promising up until halfway through then dives off a cliff of emptiness. The paint snow to be the really charming and good person then right at the end he completely swaps over to the dark side? It would have made more sense for him to gradually change over. There was subtle hints but then on the other hand he just seemed to kind. Snows origin story does not paint the picture for someone to turn out bad. Throughout the movie he shows a deep connection with a relative just for him to completely go against he wishes at the last minute. This makes no sense at all. It's like they just had her in the movie to make him seem like a nicer person that you want the viewer to care about, then all of a sudden she wasn't needed.

But even if you look past that the movie contained so many boring moments that you just wanted to skip over. The overall movie felt more like a love story with a side of hunger games. Instead of the original movies where it was the other way round.

Overall the movie was really generic. Basically the same thing that's been done thousands of times before, just switch a few things in the script and print hunger games on it. It's nothing we haven't seen before. The original movies are some the best movies to date and this just felt like a cheap cash grab.

Even if you haven't watched the original movies then I probably still can't recommend this movie. It would have been better if they cut out about 30 minutes of filler. This is clearly done to get view time up from the streaming services. But my belief is, make a better movie and more people will watch it.

Ted (2024)

Great series, I hope they make more!
12 February 2024
This show has great humour similar to what you see in Family Guy and American dad (2 shows by the same writer) but it works well in live action. Each episode Ted and John have different obstacles they need to encounter making them easy to watch and without having to be overly invested in what's going on.

The timeline is based before the movies when John Bennett is still in school and living with his parents and cousin. Each family member being unique and all bring their own part to the show. The dynamic between the family is great with each character being funny and well written.

If you enjoyed both the movies and cartoons by Seth, then you will most likely love watching this series!

Dungeon Defenders II (2017 Video Game)
3/10
With so many things to keep track of it makes it hard to enjoy the game
5 February 2024
The first game was really easy to understand and that's why it was so popular. This game has countless things going on. So many different currencies and items. It also now focuses towards each player using multiple Hero's instead of everyone just choosing a different one and focusing on that. I feel like all these things are designed around monitization. The 4 hero's is 4 times the cash you would need to spend. It's a FTP (Free to play) game but it isn't free to enjoy. I don't mind dropping a few quid on a free game. But if you wanna enjoy the game at an average pace you would need to drop more money then what small tower defence game is worth in my opinion.

It's sad because this game could have so much more potential. The core gameplay mechanics are fun. I love tower defence games and I loved Dungeon Defenders 1. This game just isn't it for me. On mobile I could see myself playing it at work on break. But if I'm on my games console then why am I gonna play this? If they make another one then I hope they streamline all the over complicated stuff. Make the battle pass good enough to enjoy the game and then have anything else as extra. Maybe the series could actually make a comeback if that happens.

They don't make them like they use to
24 December 2023
Really enjoy watching this film. I always come back to it. First seen it when I was a kid but still never gets old. Its crazy to think this movie was made but in the late 70s far before I was born. They did such a great job with the animation and the characters are all really well written. With such an iconic sound track as well. In my opinion movies just seem allot more forgettable then the classics like Watership down. In this film they really make you care for each character and understand each one of their attentions. I can only imagine how long this movie took to put together by hand drawing all the animations. It made the 6th most popular film of its time and its really stood the test of time.

Resident Evil 4 (2023 Video Game)
7/10
Really good remake but certain thigs could sometimes be annoying
16 December 2023
I really enjoyed playing through this game but I found the balance of rescources wasn't to good. Sometimes I had more ammo then I knew what to do with and then other times I would be running through the hole chapter because I had nothing to fight with. I know sometimes the devs want you to sometimes run but I feel like I skipped over stuff that the devs but allot of time into and I didn't get chance to really admire their work.

The lack of tutorials on this game is also not great. They sometimes had notes explaining certain things to you but most will assume this is just lore building and nothing useful. Like unless you have playing allot of RE your not gonna know to shoot the legs to line up melee attacks which helps with crowd control. Or to shoot the explosive in someone's hand and that you should bunch of enemies and do this to save bullets. Crouch to duck a grab. Shooting the parasite on an enemy (The non human parts) gives critical damage. You can parry most attacks with a knife and it will flash in the bottom right but its really small so you could miss it. These are all things that I wish had been portrayed to the player better. I am not saying stop the gameplay for a written tutorial but maybe the player could say something to himself. Just a small hint.

The thermal scope is terrible. It has no center dot which made it difficult to hit shots. I found myself using the regular scope over it. The only time thermal is useful is for 1 enemy type. I would be shocked if there was a scope like this irl.

The game is quite fun thou. I personally think its better then the original. I highly recommend playing.

The Last of Us (2023– )
3/10
The series was overall lacking and poorly written
26 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I waited so long for this series to release for this. You don't even need a TV for most of it since it's just talking. I don't expect constant action but you had complete episodes of meaningless filler. You could skip over hole episodes and still know exactly what is going on. Every single episode needs to drive the story forward and multiple of them don't in anyway. My guess is they had a low budget incase it never took off and then justified this by saying they didn't want it to contain much action. But most of the talking is just meaningless. They put together a couple action scenes for the trailers and called it a day.

My next issue is completely changing characters to meet a certain demographic. This is insulting to everyone who liked these characters how they were. It's annoying that every single peace of media has to shoe horn in stuff just to make a point. It's like asking for someone to acknowledge you for doing something that is expected. If I went in to my job and ask my boss applaud me for doing my job description he is gonna laugh at me.

I don't mind certain things being changed because a game is different to TV but this is just terrible. It would have been far better if it was a movie or if they made a different story set in the same universe. But Sony is milking The Last of Us dry until the last of us loose interest.

This is not the level of quality Sony built their brand on. They use to be the company that would only allow top tear content of nothing at all. Now it appears it's how can they do the bare minimum that they can get away with. This is a huge company that can afford to do so much more and they don't need to strictly budget things and drag a short story across 8 hours. If they used new characters and a new story they could have expanded upon so much. Showed us so many new things that the game doesn't show us.

In this show Ellie seems to be confident with everything they come across. In the game she more learning from Joel because she had never left the safe zone and not previously been exposed to this dangerous environment.

Also everyone seems to have allot of food and electric and clean clothes. Nothing about this show feels like a post apocalyptic world.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series (2023 Video Game)
9/10
Great game how ever Episodes are quite short
26 October 2023
I love Deck Nines work and this game lives up to their high standard in the story telling games. The Expanse is some of their best work in my opinion. There is parts of this game that actually make you stop and think.

The game is overall really short. You could probably run through the game in about 4 to 5 hours. My playtime is 6 hours but I spent allot of time wondering round admiring things which the game really makes you want to do. I am not sure if DeckNine or Telltale are the ones who went with the shorter approach.

The story is really good. I haven't personally watched The Expanse TV show. I have started watching a couple episodes since completing this game so not far enough to compare them.

Some of the choices can be quite meaningful as others I couldn't really work out how they effected the game. There is 1 choice which was really well designed. The outcome was the furthest thing you would expect. I didn't even know that it was a choice I made until the end when I went through the list. I really hope we can see more of that in their work in the future.

One thing I really love with Deck Nine and DontNod is at the end you can see all the choices you picked and what percentage of people picked the same thing. Sometimes you will make a choice that not many people chose.

I am personally not a fan of the hole release 1 episode now then the next after and so on. I understand when really small companies or indie titles do this but, I think Telltale is at a point where they can release a full product at once now. I just grabbed the deluxe edition and they all come together. I had an issue on PS5 where the full game didn't download thou. It downloaded 2 episodes and I had to go into the PlayStation menu and download all the rest. Not a big deal, but if it says you need content half way through then check all your episodes downloaded.

Forza Motorsport (2023 Video Game)
8/10
Huge improvement from FM7 but still a few things could be better
11 October 2023
The improvements they have made to the core driving mechanics are instantly noticeable. Going through corners is so much more smooth instead of being lunged off the track for what feels like it wasn't your fault.

The new AI is also much better. It still needs work as during allot of races you'll end up with 3 cars off into the sunset. You can also bully them off the track without even touching them which is kinda funny. They obviously need to not interrupt the player but they also need to stand their ground a little bit.

The car tuning is ok. I personally don't mind the car level system. Gradually building your car is actually quite fun and adds an extra layer of gameplay. But car points can go out the window. I have millions of credits so let me buy the parts. It makes car tuning over restricted and tedious. Car levels are already enough to get the result they are looking for. Why over complicate things..?

I think car levels are a good way to introduce more people into tuning. More people will take the time to learn how to adjust suspension, gears and so on. If more players understand how these things work then they can adjust them for different tracks and weather conditions, increasing their laptimes.

One thing that really annoys me with Forza is the engine swapping is just so lazy. You can throw any engine into any car. Your not restricted to the size of the chassis. You can basically make any car into anything which removes each car having its own unique identity. This completely contradicts the hole idea of the builders cup series on building so many unique cars.

If you are in a Golf then you should only be given engine swaps that fit a Golf.

Builders cup is quite fun. Thou it's better just to select the car, go into rivals and level up to 10 or so. That way you can actually compete in the 1st couple races.

The penalty system is good and definitely 1 of the better ones around in racing games at the moment. It would be even better if it could detect non contact fouls thou. And disqualify overly aggressive racers. It's not 100% accurate yet. These systems do take time in the battle field so the Devs can continue to collect data and make adjustments as time goes on.

I do believe Turn 10 in time will make this 1 if not the best entry into the Forza series. I believe Forza Motorsport should be more realistic. The silly stuff like a a tow rope increasing handling, car points, installing a spoiler on a car with an electric foldout wing and not to mention turning any car into a Bugatti sleeper all needs to stop. Forza Motorsport needs to distance itself from Horizon because otherwise it just becomes Horizon without the fun stuff.

Payday 3 (2023 Video Game)
7/10
It is evident that always online is a barrier to the consumer
25 September 2023
The games foundation is great but it's plagued with issues that completely ruin the gameplay experience. Why should consumers constantly be punished for trying to enjoy a video game. There is still people who live in rural areas with little to no broadband. Well good luck trying to enjoy payday 3. Or even those with good broadband can't play it half the time either because the servers are having issues. The funny part is someone has modded the game which allows you to play offline. So they could easily remove the online requirement if they wanted to. Another thing I hated was it requires you to set up an account on their website. Why does every single thing I do these days want me to fill out a form. I just wanna hop on and have fun.

Once you finally win the game of matchmaking roulette and I mean you got more of a chance of hitting 0 in real life roulette the game is pretty good. Gameplay is a bit buggy at times but it's easy to look past those issues and have fun. The AI sometimes look a bit lost which can be funny. I seriously hope this company learns a bit more about pro consumer and removes this online requirement bs. It's killing preservation, hindering the gameplay experience and putting up another entry barrier. What if I want to hop back in after 20 years?? Or what if I wanna blast some heists on a handheld while traveling? Nope.

Starfield (2023 Video Game)
9/10
If you love Bethesdas work then you will enjoy Starfield
7 September 2023
If you enjoy games like Skyrim and Fallout then you will enjoy Starfield. This game is NOT a Space simulator so don't expect to play have the game piloting your ship. Personally I prefer this but I have seen people not happy that this is the case. There is countless quests to go through. The main quests feel like only a small percentage of stories to go through. You can enjoy playing through all the different faction missions (Sort of like guilds in Skyrim) and sidequests. Building a ship is fun but I am not the artistic type so I just use the one you get from completing a set of sidequests.

This game starts off fun but continues to get more fun as you play through.

Sadly the creation engine really does feel stretched to its limits in this game and I hope Bethesda does some serious work under the hood for Elder Scrolls VI. Its not a bad game to play but certain parts could be improved.

Like entering certain buildings requires a loading screen (Like in skyrim). If GTA V can make this seamless then I don't see why a game 10 years newer cant.

Hit boxes or aiming are frustrating at times. You clearly have your sites lined up for the bullet to not hit the enemy.

Sometimes youll reload but because the animation wasn't complete even thou it looked finished it will cancel your reload but not restart so youll be running with a gun with 0 bullets in the chamber. Would be nice if it atleast started the reload again.

Everything and I mean everything is locked behind skill points. Some stuff makes sense but others just felt like it was there to boast a bigger skill tree. Like why is a boost pack a skill point? Boost pack upgrades yh but to use one???

Other then this I have been enjoying the game. I hope Bethesda officially adds DLSS, I found an un-official way to use it but this should just be a feature. And hopefully they make some optimizations aswell. The game randomly stutters for no reason. I also had it crash a couple times or completely glitch out. A few bugs on PC but nothing that made you wanna stop playing. If anything watching an enemy sling across the map upon death never gets old.

Baldur's Gate III (2023 Video Game)
9/10
Its very rare you get a game that has so many choices!
30 August 2023
Baldur's gate III is the master of multiple choice. You truly do create your own path in this game and can engage in combat with pretty much every NPC in the game. More or less everyone you speak to has a agree or disagree answer. I still feel like this game would take several playthroughs before you have gotten the full experience. I really wasn't sure about the turn based combat at first but they have done an amazing job with how they implemented it. Its not just a matter of pressing attack or heal, there is so many other things they have added to it in order to make it more interesting and have more to think about.

One thing I didn't like was holding mouse to move round. The amount of walking in this game just made this feel like a chore. In Diablo or something it works cos you engage in allot of combat but in BG3 there isn't as much. You can install a mod on PC that allows you to walk using WASD (outside of combat) and another mod for the camera. This makes the game play more like FFX14 or WoW. After that the game was much more fun and I think Layrien should release an update that makes this a feature.

A Plague Tale: Requiem (2022 Video Game)
10/10
Well worth playing!
30 August 2023
The story in this game is amazing and unique. Today so many films and games have the same predictable stuff and they are worried about straying to far from the safer approach incase people aren't interested and or it causes controversy. The thing is when you go out of the normal lane and done correctly you get a great result and that's what you get here.

All the team at Asobo Studio all done such a great job with writing, art, actors and so on and its all came together to create a true masterpeace.

The game does eat up hardware on PC and I found DLSS was essential for the smoothest experience. Never came across any problems during gameplay which is always nice.

I really cannot wait to see what else they come up with.

Atomic Heart (2023 Video Game)
7/10
Disappointing and had far more potential if it wasn't for obvious flaws
25 August 2023
For starters the game really lacks save points. This can work in missions, take souls games for example they had little bon fires. This game lacks them in the open world areas. You can spend ages killing robots and looting areas just to die and loose everything. There is only auto saving on missions and the open world requires you to access a save station! Why not have a save point as you enter built up areas and then once you complete the "activity" or loot the sought after object it then saves again?

Another issue which drove me mad was the amount of repair bots. I love the idea of having bots come recycle their friends but in some areas they would just come swarming in sometimes over 5 at a time. When I killed them you could see another pack coming in the distance. Basically you get never ending repair bots coming in. Its like this in most encounters aswell. It just makes you not want to bother engaging any enemies because you know there was be endless repair bots bringing them all back and youll waste your limited supplies killing them for no reason. Why can't you switch off the repair bot vending machines? This would atleast balance them.

The game doesn't teach you enough about weaknesses and status effects. For ages I thought enemies were sponging bullets, turns out the cartridges are your best friend for certain enemies. But the game doesn't tell you what all the symbols mean when scanning and how effective cartridge's can be on certain enemies.

During the game you'll see red robots start to appear after you reach them on a story mission (Don't wanna say to much but you'll know the one) and it deals extreme melee damage. These could really be balanced better with the countless repair bots in mind. They are fast moving and normally spawn in packs. How are you supposed to target multiple fast moving enemies which take quite a few shots to kill and they all charge at you dealing extreme damage? But you destroy them just to be repaired again? This is why games make fast, high damage enemies weaker.

Puzzles in this game felt highly repetitive. But they also always add the same puzzles 1 after the other instead of spacing them out the game. So you come across a new puzzle, repeat it 2 or 4 times in different ways and never see it again. Why not have the new versions at different points in the game? Every door has a mini game lock on it which yh is cool if its to unlock a new area but when its just a shortcut door it doesn't really make sense. They begin to get tedious after a while.

Lack of sprint in this game sucks. Its an open world and sprint is basically a must in such a large environment. I know some games don't need a sprint but this game I can't see what difference it would make to the combat implementing it.

All drivable cars were identical. I know the devs wanted cars to stand out to the player so you knew which ones were drivable but they could have just made all the cars that you couldn't drive a bit more run down and then have the drivable ones look a bit more polished and maintained. Or put them in places where they stand out more like in the middle of the road and then other cars more on the side of the road. I just didn't like how every car I drove was an exact replica.

The game can be a bit buggy at times. Updates have improved allot of these but still countless times you get jammed into an object making robots pile on you and killing you. Its extremely unfair and the lack of checkpoints made this more painful. Other then that everything else plays pretty much fine.

Other then that the game can be quite fun. The world look great. I really enjoy robots and sci fi in the games. The story is enjoyable and the puzzles granted were fun I just wish they were spaced out. The combat in this game is awesome when mixing your abilities and weapons together. Mindfish definitely have a talented team and I would keep an eye out for their future games. I just hope they take peoples feedback and iron out the issues in the next game from them.

God of War (2018 Video Game)
10/10
1 of the best games ever!
14 May 2023
God of war reboot has to have 1 of the best stories out there. And it came back with such an awesome, unique combat experience. With the leviathan axe and the return of the blades of chaos both make an amazing match up to tear down all your enemies. The story is well worth paying attention to and taking in all the cutscenes and more. It is a such a great part of the experience. The world has to be some of the best looking artwork in a game and the graphics were way ahead of their time. It still looks better then several Ps5 titles. It's very rare I rate games the highest possible rating but this game hasn't got a single flaw in my eyes. Highly recommend giving it a go if you haven't already!

God of War Ragnarök (2022 Video Game)
9/10
Really good story, characters and world
14 May 2023
God of war Ragnarok takes the 1st game and improves upon the formula. So many things have been polished up and the gameplay is far better because of it. Allot of sequels tend to never live up to the 1st game but Ragnarok was definitely worth while. The world you explore has been hugely expanded with so many new areas, characters and huge new story to enjoy. The new characters are all amazing and they pair nicely with the games humour. The world design is just really cool and unique. No other game is like it and that's what makes god of war so good.

Sadly 1 huge let down with this game is due to all its new features, it really was held back by the PS4. Even if you are on a Ps5 the game was still built around the previous hardware. In several places their would be long climbing sequences and so on for hidden loading sequences. These happened so often. With God of wars linear climbing style it got quite boring at times. Every climbing sequence is just a single path. It would have been cool if they added to the climbing a little just to keep you more interested in what's going on.

I highly recommend this game. But if you haven't, I would play the previous game 1st!

Velma (2023– )
6/10
Velma has potential and could actually work if they switch it up in Season 2
9 May 2023
Velma mite have been successful for season 1 even if it was for how difficult people found it to watch. Season 2 is a good idea thou because people will come back out of curiosity but they won't stay if it's the same as before.

The issues with the show are that its built from the characters of Scooby Doo but that's it. There is nothing else that tells you its to do with them. If your using the characters then make the show relate to it in some way.

Jokes are way to frequent and forced. Like they tell a joke that you don't find funny and then they ram it in your face like someone asking if you got the joke and that your supposed to laugh. But I would be lying if I said I kept a straight face the hole time. At certain times on the less forced and subtle jokes I smiled. If the show cut out the blatant, not funny over the top jokes and made it more quick witty stuff it would be more enjoyable.

Outside of the exaggerated humour the writing is alright. It's not award winning but atleast the story made somewhat sense and was easy to follow which is always a plus when your watching a cartoon.

The idea of using Velma as the main character was actually a good decision. The other characters wouldn't carry as well the "smart" one.

I wanna be able to enjoy this show so I do hope the next season is better. If its more like season 1 thou then I don't think I would come back again for a 3rd time.

Returnal (2021 Video Game)
4/10
I really wanted to like Returnal but I can't due to these issues
4 May 2023
Returnal sounded great on paper but after playing it the game is just a mess. Everything looks the exact same from start to finish. I know it's a rogue like but that doesn't mean it has to look alike. It just makes the game feel empty. The weapons aren't to bad. They get held by the lacking combat. They wanted to make it all fast pace but it just feels uncomfortable. I don't know what it is. The bosses are where the game really takes a nose dive. From example 1 of the bosses has different attacks where you need to avoid it different. Throu dash or jumping. But they both look the same at 1st so you have to guess which way to avoid it. That is unless your lucky enough to be standing on further side of the sweep but if not enjoy getting hit for a mass amount of health. Also in-between each health bar you don't have any time before the next phase so why not just have 1 long health bar with lines in at each new phase. If your going to make it 3 separate health bars it makes you think your gonna have a bit of time in-between each phase to revive your friend or whatever. Which I think there should be during a long encounter anyway but that's just my opinion.

At 1 point there was a building which you can't enter. But later after seeing it I got a key and it said it was for the building but you still can't enter it? Why do you give me a key when you still can't enter? Surely someone would have picked up on how misleading and silly that is?

Anyway, essentially the game boils down to mindlessly running round the same looking rooms doing random stuff which you don't know if it's optional or its actually driving the progress forward. Eventually it will tell you that you can now open the boss room door. Also here and then it will tell you something about the story. But that's few and far between and you'll probably forget what's actually going on half the time.

I like the fact the developers tried something new. However this game would have probably been better if it wasn't a rogue like.

Elden Ring (2022 Video Game)
6/10
Not From Softwares best work and far from it
4 May 2023
Elden Ring is extremely repetitive and predictable with very little replayability. I've completed several of the souls games and even gone back to replay my favourites but I can't see that being the case for Elden Ring. Several of the encounters are just copy and pasted. They have even grabbed regular enemies and stuck a boss health bar on them with the same textures, attacks and even HP level. They have copy and pasted enemies and increased there health without adding new textures making the game feel inconsistent. The same goes for fall damage aswell. You can jump from high levels in some points and then goto do the same thing somewhere else and die.

But it gets worse. Unlike other souls games the combat heavily realize upon a new mechanic summoning where you can summon ashes to help you. But you cannot balance encounters around this and people who don't want it. So now the way all bosses work is you don't have to try to hard because your summon will constantly grab the bosses agro and tank allot of its hits. You can then hit it a few times dive back until your summon grabs it's agro again. It's basically a cheese strategy option. Because of this bossing is just not fun because your not taking in attack patterns and stuff as much as the previous souls games.

Ashes of war is another thing that just ruins the game. They are essentially OP abilities you can attach to any weapon except some that come with their own. But when you can put certain abilities on certain weapons they become over powered. They should have just had weapons with them already on so they could balance them easily. Now you get OP weapons where you can add status effects and greases (Pine resins) that add another status effects. That's 2 different effects on 1 weapon ontop of its standard damage.

Enemy power creep. Where from software wanna add new awesome mechanics that make the last game look old compared to the new big thing. Now Elden Rings bosses can just be all over the place. If you try not using summons the bosses do all these weird attacks where you roll or shield cannot block them so you need to rely on iframes created by certain ashed of war. But if you didn't know about this you could be there for ages getting 1 hit constantly. You need to rely on Google in so many cases which ruins the game.

PvP is ruined. Due to all the new op mechanics PvP is extremely unbalanced. Allot of people have gone back to previous titles for PvP because of this. From software have been making small tweaks to make it better but it will never be at a good place in my eyes.

From software have wanted to make the game more accessible to lower skilled players but it's came at the cost of ruining the experience that the previous games offered. They have also cut corners to make development time quicker by reusing countless assets over and over. Hopefully in future this doesn't continue but we can't say for sure until the next game they release. In my opinion the open world design wasn't as fun as the previous my linear design but that's just my opinion. I don't think Elden Ring will be remembered as much as the previous souls game.

The Menu (2022)
10/10
It is a great film with so much depth but also easy to watch
29 April 2023
The menu is a really unique film. Each 1 of the guests are all unique and all have different story's about them. The actors did a brilliant job living inside those characters and who they are. The menu really did go outside of the comfort zone that allot of films don't do these days and with the menu it really paid off. You can really read into this movie and it gives you the impression that they didn't include something for no reason. How ever it can also be enjoyed by those who just want a casual movie to enjoy. Its really clever the way the hole movie is constructed and how you can see how pride gets in the way of the customers instincts. I also enjoyed the humour behind this movie and how it paired with the dark side of everything else.

Great movie and I hope we get more unique movies like this in the future.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits (2021 Video Game)
9/10
Kena is an amazing game and it's well worth the time
23 April 2023
Kena is a game that you cannot miss. It's amazing that Epic has given these smaller studios the tools to enable their true potential giving them the chance to get under the same spotlight as bigger studios. More and more of these indie studios are popping up out of the shadows and it's great to see.

Kena is a game that always makes you feel happy and you can't help but smile whilst playing it. Everything feels really smooth and well thought out. The mechanics are really good, the story is really good and all the characters work really with the game aswell. The voice actors all did a great job. You can tell when playing a game when all the people involved were pationate and enjoyed what they were working on and that is clear with Kena.

I would keep a close eye on this studio and wait to see what else they got in store for us!

M3GAN (2022)
8/10
Great movoe with a funny side
14 April 2023
I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was quite funny. The only downside was they didn't do much that hadn't been done before. They played it to safe which seems to be a recurring pattern these days. People are to afraid to go above and beyond so they just stick with what works.

Don't let that put you off cos this is still a great film and all the actors did a great job. The jokes were funny. The characters are great and overall the story is quite good. The pacing isn't bad but i did wish we got to see more action throughout the movie. Maybe if we get a M3gan 2 they will make it have more evil M3gan :)

It's not just a bad soulsborne game but overall a bad game
14 April 2023
I am overall a fan of the From Software games but this one can literally be wiped off the face of the earth. It is plagued with terrible issues, overall feels clunky to play and the story compared to the others isnt that great either. The game feels more hard for the sake of being hard as the other games are great games that are hard. Every chest you open you will get ambushed which removes the hole point in an ambush. And the scholar of the 1st sin it's like they went over the original game and thought, how can we make this harder rather then focusing on the issues like why you stand still for a second after swinging your weapon? It's just sad that the core levels actually look nice and have a half decent layout. But it's just plagued with annoying stuff like locking on breaks the combat and the game plays better completely not using it. Even the estus flask has been made redundant by the use of life gems. And if you can make it through the hole game without being hit with an explosive barrel then you would get a DNA check with Jesus. It's almost like someone went over the levels had glue holding down ctrl + v placing barrels all over the place. But the best part is if you or an enemy hit them they explode. You can be walking round then out of nowhere you'll explode loosing all your health cos an enemy jumped into a barrel. And AI in this game is broken aswell. I've had enemies attack me then just stand still for ages wondering whats gonna happen next almost like they are trying to say sorry. The enemies glitch out constantly. Like how do you go from Dark Souls 1 which is mostly a solid experience with a few smaller issues to Ds2 which was a complete mess to Ds2 sotfs which overall made the game even worse.

If I was you I would skip this game unless you completed every other soulsborne game and you just wanna complete this 1 just to say you have completed all of them. But being honest I don't think anyone would actually care if you just said that you skipped this one cos its terrible. They will likely understand why. The only memorable things are it are a couple of things. The cringe opening cutscene or the clunky combat mechanics.

If you wanna cheese the hole game. Use life gems and level up agility as much as you can. Use life gems instead of estus.

The beginning of this game starts off slow but stuck with it
17 March 2023
At first I thought this game was really boring since it's allot slower starting then other games. While first campaign "A realm Reborn" (ARR) was put together quickly since the original XIV (1.0) had issues and was eventually thrown away. The way they done this thou was clever. The original game being scrapped was the world ending and ARR is the new world. So it's part of the lore.

But the rushed development of ARR really shows. The quests are more basic and there is so much filler. But the demo version gives you the first expansion for free. This is obviously to show people that that when you finally get the core game over and done with that it does get better. The combat finally gets better rather than just mashing the same few abilities. You also finally get some more challenging dungeons. If you want a real challenge then I recommend going healer since it's the hardest class. How ever you have the hole team relying on you so I would say choose this once you max out another class so you understand the game.

The community in this game are the most positive I've seen in an MMO. When I was learning a new dungeon, I kept dying repeatedly. And being a healer, everyone else soon fell. Everyone was encouraging and showing me what to do. Other MMOs I've played after the first death you wait for the first person to leave, followed by everyone else. Its refreshing to play a game where people are actually having fun and not just playing cos they don't know what else to do to pass the time.

Another great part with this game is switching classes. Other games normally a character is the class. In XIV the weapon is the class. So if you wanna switch from Black Mage to Warrior, just swap the weapon. Each class has its own level and story line. So there is tons of fun to have working with each class and maxing them all out. Plus the storylines are an added bonus and give you extra abilities throughout them.

Overall the game is well worth pushing past the early content. The higher budget content is amazing. You can guarantee you'll have the best experience an MMO can offer. The game isn't made to be addictive and there is 0 pay to win. Its slightly more expensive then other games thou. You buy the expansions all together so you don't buy them individually. When a new expansion comes out you buy the expansion pack again to gain access. It also comes with 60 day membership. Then ontop of that you gotta buy membership. How ever I don't mind paying more for a game if it means they don't have to add pay to win micro-transactions. If you want thou, there is cosmetic store items (Which don't expire so no fear of missing out). These aren't really pushed that hard. I didn't even know they were a thing for months. And more there if you want. But you can get loads of cool cosmetics from playing the game and earning as rewards.
