Total chaos in Paris after political election.Some young thieves flee from the town and will meet up at a hostel near the border to Luxemburg.What they don't now is that the owner is an old Nazi-general that could have been Hitlers best friend during world-war11.Also his other family members live there and they all total sickos who like the taste of blood.I build up big expectations for this film as I read a lot of positive reviews on internet and all pictures I seen looked great.Did I like it,well its a good solid horror film thats really the director Xavier Gens pot a lot of energy on.Its bloody and has a lot of violence,but to be honest I expected more on that department.On the + side it has a lot of tension and atmosphere.Actors do good performance and the film gets never boring.Can not say its original as I felt echoes from both Texas Chainsaw Massacre&Hostel but that doesn't matter.Frontiere(s) has a lot of potential but no masterpiece.But don't get me wrong the movie is good enough to be recommended.Often compared to another French classic Haute Tension and I must say I prefer Frontiere(s).Out in Sweden on DVD in June and its a must to my horror-collection.Recommended,I give it 7/10

Watched this thriller Untraceable last night.Plot is like this in short.A total sicko killing people live on internet and each time the killer does it in different ways.If much people log in to the site the victim reach heaven quicker.Movie is not my cup of tea,i found it just plain boring.I barely watched the film to the end,felt like I all time did now what will happen.If you want to watch a movie with similar plot but better done go rent Italian director Dario Argentos Card Player(not masterpiece but a bit more inspiring film).On the + side is Diane Lane as agent Jennifer Marsh and let me think...hhm..sorry nothing more.Not a thriller for me and I do not recommend it.I give Untraceable only 2/10.

Strange businessman hires a group of soldiers to go to an abandoned Nazi bunker in the East of Europe.Strange things happen and the soldiers are killed of one by one.Something in the bunker have no plans to let the visitors complete their mission.This is an British Horror-film thats really well made,original plot and has great look and fine set-pieces.Acting is OK and it has some good and gory murders.But to be fair I tough it was a bit boring and not scary at all.Thats just the case ,its not one of the better films I seen recent.Its no new masterpiece like Neil Marshalls The Descent or his excellent Werewolf movie Dog Soldiers.Best thing about the movie is the ending and the scary look of one of the forces that killing the Soldiers.Sorry folks my rating is only 4/10.

Watched this film last night and had high hopes on it as most reviews I read are very positive.I can say I am not disappointed.El Orfanto(The Orphanage)is truly an amazing Spanish chiller thats in my opinion even better than the excellent Pans Labyrinth.Laura goes back to here childhood home with her husband Carlos and adoptive son Simon.Laura was as a child living at an orphanage and now have plans to restart it again.Soon things starts to happen.Simon here son speaks about he got new friends,but Laura & Carlos never see any.I will not give away anything more about the plot,but I can say its a damn good horror film thats both creepy&Atmospheric.Excellent acting and truly near Oscar performance by Belen Rueda as Laura.Music soundtrack is great and scary.The Director J-A-Bayona does a good job and the film is beautifully shot.Even my girlfriend who don't like horror-films and thinks they are most silly thought it was scary as hell.Many times she had a pillow over here face.Maybe not anything if you only like horror-films like Hostel&Saw,but if you like me also can see horror movies without any blood and gore you probably like it.I Highly recommend it and give it full points 10/10.

Sydney Wells(Jessica Alba) is blind since an accident when she was a child.She have hopes to get to see again after an eye transplant,but she soon realize something is wrong.Starting to see dead people and horrifying visions from the former owner brings here closer and closer to insanity.This is an American remake of the Asian smash-hit Pang Brothers Gin Gwai(The Eye) from 2002.I think The Eye remake is an alright movie but not anything more.It has a few jump scares and Jessica Alba does here acting good. If I have not seen the Asian one maybe I would have liked it more.Anyhowe its an OK time-waster,a solid movie with good special-effects and overall good acting(not any Oscar performance) and as I said surprisingly Jessica Alba is good as the lead actress.First movie in America for the French Directors David Moreau&Xavier Palud with an OK result.Slightly recommended,I give the remake of The Eye 5/10

A Couple Rob & Pia goes out on a boat trip.Bad weather and a big storm coming.They goes to an isolated house on an island to look after help.If I say so its not friendly people living there.A father and his two sons and they are very mean and cruel to say the least and have no plans to let the visitors leave alive.This movie is made by Jamie Blanks the director of two other horror films Urban Legend & Valentine.I think Storm Warning is far better horror film that do have some scary moments and shocking violence.Good acting overall with top performance by Nadia Fares as Pia.The contrast between its raining all time&the isolated creepy house surrounded by woods and the nuts family living there is a good build up for a horror film.Gore & Violence is well made.Music soundtrack do a good work and fits mostly the film fine.This film is filmed in Blanks home country Australia.Its not a masterpiece but a good entertaining Horror film and I recommend it for sure.I give it 7/10

Alien monster terrorize people in an isolated American town.Sheriff Annie Flynn(Emananulle Vaugier)try to solve the case.Swedish DVD cover says a mix between Neil Marshalls Masterpiece The Descent&cult classic Alien.I say no,no,no...only thing they have common is some parts in the film is in a cave and the monster look reminds in a cheap way of the Alien one.I didn't like it for sure,it didn't give me anything.To be fair I first watched an hour some days ago and last half hour today.Acting is not the worst I seen,some pretty fine.Emanuelle Vaugier did her work good.The movie has no scary parts and the monster looks just silly.Last half hour was better than rest of the film,but I do not recommend it.By the way in Sweden its called Deep Fear.I give it 2/10.

An ancient urn is found on a Cemetery outside Rome.At the museum art student Sarah Mandy(Asia Argento)& Gisella Mares(Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni) opens it and unleashes the powerful witch Mater Lacrimarum.Murders,rapes and suicides goes like a plague all over the city.Its the start of the final installment in Dario Argento's Three Mother trilogy.First one Suspiria is from 1977 and second one is Inferno from year 1980.Both Suspiria and Inferno is two of my best horror films of all time so I expected a lot from this one.And I must say I am not disappointed. I tough La Terza Madre is a really fun ride all 98 minutes.I was never bored for a second.When I watch a film I want to get excited and never stop watching the screen and I must say this film fulfilled that. Not as colorfully as the other two classics but anyhow a good ending on the Three Mothers trilogy.Acting was OK but by far not excellent.Some of the dialog is a bit silly but hey its an Argento movie.Never been his strong side.Asia Argento does her part good.Music score by Claudio Simonetti is excellent and fits this film fine.The film is full of gore&violence and it reminds me of horror films from Italy in the seventies and early eighties.All shown in bloody detail.One of Dario Argento's most violent films ever.Some CGI-effects looks a bit cheap,but mostly the special- effects are very good.La Terza Madre is better than most horror films coming out these days.Thank you Dario,Asia and all the others involved in the film.I had a good time and already looking forward for next Argento film named Giallo.I give it 9/10.

Epitaph is an South-Korean horror film taking place on hospital in South-Korea year 1941.Its during world-war II and Japan occupation on Korea.Its more an mixed horror/love-story as the film has like 3 separate love- stories that at first seems a bit confusing but in the end make sense and linked together.Don't get me wrong the movie has some fine scares and is mostly an horror-film.The hospital look is creepy.I must say one of the best Asian films I ever seen.Its so very beautiful movie and nothing like I watched before from Asia.I also like the music-score that fit the film near perfect.Acting is very good.Not a very bloody and violent film, but it has some nice scenes of pure horror.Story is a bit hard to follow but anyhow its an excellent piece of film.Epitaph played on cinema in South-Korea Summer 2007 and its now out on DVD in S-Korea.Don't now if it was an box-office hit in S-Korea but it would surprise me if not as horror films are very popular over there.Not to be missed if you like Asian horror.I give the move 9/10

200 years ago 7 million people where buried in the catacombs under the capital Paris in France.Victoria(Shannen Sossomon) get invitation to Paris from her sister played by famous singer Pink .They go to party in the catacombs with some other friends to Victorias sister.Things start to happen..lots of running and screaming but no scares.Not my cup of tea but not totally crap.I think S.Sossomon is good,the ending fine and some scenes well done.The version I saw was the 86 minutes one.Maybe there exist an unrated version with more power in some scenes as I think the movie was a bit tame considering the story is very gruesome. I give Catacoms 4/10

Just been watching this movie Boogeyman 2 and for me it was not anything I will watch again.Alltough I must say the good looking cast was OK and some of the gore scenes fine.Much more gore than I expected as the first Boogeyman from 2005 is pretty dry.Plot is OK..but nothing more.Starts with two children watching the Boogeyman killing their parents and then go forwards 10 years and they both at a clinic to overcome their fears for the Boogeyman.Some scenes really bloody and not for the sensitive ones.Maybe worth a rental but not a film I will buy to my DVD collection.If you like your film bloody and a movie not any different than many other horror films coming out these days maybe this is a film for you.I give this film 3/10.
