Anand (1971)
Evergreen Movie
As a teenager, watching Anand was not just a cinematic experience; it was an emotional journey that left an indelible impact, shaping my appreciation for classic cinema.
The simplicity and depth of the plot, combined with the masterful direction of Hrishikesh Mukherjee, make it a classic that continues to resonate with audiences across ages.
The music of Anand is another gem that contributes to its everlasting charm. Composed by the legendary R. D. Burman, the soulful melodies seamlessly integrate with the narrative, enhancing the emotional impact of each scene. The songs not only serve as a soundtrack but also become an integral part of the storytelling, creating a musical journey that lingers in the memory long after the credits roll.
Emotional resonance is a hallmark of Anand, and the performances of the lead actors, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan, elevate the film to iconic status.
In comparison to the present Bollywood landscape, Anand stands as a testament to a bygone era of storytelling and cinematic craftsmanship.
Kapil Sharma: I'm Not Done Yet (2022)
Certainly not done yet
This stand-up "I'm not done yet" was good, considering it was meant to watch with family, it didn't had too harsh jokes that will make you die laughing, just few normal punch lines. One thing that I liked about the show was his story telling, obviously we all have watched Kapil on his television show, but I was surprised to see this version of Kapil which totally different on Netflix. There were some instances where you can get emotional, because he talks about his life and his journey to become an artist in Mumbai, so humor wise I don't think it did very well(comparing it with his old jokes). He talks about his mental health and what happened in his childhood, it was a great piece of story telling which was fascinating and motivational, it taught us how we cope with setbacks. In the end he sang a song and dedicated it to his late father was the most emotional part of the show, and I think if this stand-up would be a success which I hope so, we would be seeing another of his special on Netflix anytime soon.
I hope you liked my review thank you for your time.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Both Non Spoiler and Spoiler reviews
My answer would contain a Non-spoiler review followed by a spoiler one. So let's begin with basic background, without any spoilers of course.
Don't look up is a movie that deals with how we humans try to control everything with our knowledge and skill. I liked the movie and the message that it gives. We don't see movies like these every day, and its cast was also amazing. I related to the movie because if you notice we try to control everything today even the things that are natural such as aging, greying hair, muscular body, even some of the deadly diseases which did not have a cure until a few years ago. I am not saying it's bad but, aren't we breaking the law of nature. So the movie has somewhat the same concept regarding a comet, which is coming towards earth and the scientists with their knowledge and skill find out in advance and try to save the world.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD
Now talking about a detailed review of this movie, no doubt the movie was good but one thing that stunned me was you could see this movie happening around the world in the last 2 years, yes I am talking about the coronavirus. In the beginning, no one took it seriously but within a period it took millions of people away and continues to, the movie took comet as a threat and made us believe that the world would end soon, and made us see behind the scenes of what the authorities do about the situation and it was harsh but sadly it's true. President first tries to keep the news down and arrest the people spreading news, later when things go out of hand they try to use the threat for their political benefit and this keeps going on and on until there's nothing to save. The ending of the movie, however, was predictable because you can't reverse nature, after the day there comes a night it's just how it works. DiCaprio's performance was just amazing, we saw many faces of DiCaprio first as a calm scientist, then confused and stressed because no one is taking him seriously, later angry and frustrated because the authorities are just looking for their benefit and in the end emotional but happy because he was with his family, and if you would ask me what my favorite scene from the movie was? I would undoubtedly say the last dinner that they were having.
I also enjoyed Ariana Grande's scenes in the movie especially the song part where she is roasting the President's campaigns of "Don't look up" with her lyrics,
One of the funniest parts that I liked was Kate complaining about how the White House officer charged her for free snacks. She even complains it few more times in the movie which just made me look back to that scene closely
She didn't even pay for the snacks!! DiCaprio did!
In the end, I would say the movie was great and I am looking forward to watching it a third time.
I hope you liked my review, thank you for your time.
Wind River (2017)
This movie is worth your time
I won't give any spoilers because I dont have any words how good this movie was, true story movies always leave a deep impact on us this movie did the same thing. Seeing three great Marvel heroes Wanda, Hawkeye and Punisher together in a film was great. This movie is a must watch.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Spider-Man : left with No Home
I went to watch this movie twice since it has been released. I would give a spoiler-free as well as in detail review. (I would mention from where the spoiler-free review is ending)
So let's get started
first let's talk about the spoiler-free review.
The movie was like a parabola it went straight up and with the ending, it came down. There will be Doctor Strange as you see in the poster and trailers but since the movie is about spiderman he would not be in much focus. There is also going to be a surprise entry cameo of one great superhero which is, in fact, his first scene in Marvel Cinematic Universe you guys know him if you follow the comics, I am not going to disclose the name. This movie was excellent and left some of the most important unanswered questions also it opened the gate of many fan theories, of course as you have seen different villans from the previous spiderman movies (spiderman 2002, 2005 2007 and Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2) in the trailer, but I would suggest you should watch the movie Venom: Let there be carnage also before you go to watch no way home. This movie has a dark or you can say unhappy ending like the previous other spiderman movies (old ones). I am not going to tell why it is dark but you can think of the obvious.
Now talking about the movie in detail
SPOILERS AHEAD
(please don't read the rest of the answer from this point if you have not watched the movie)
In the first 5 minutes, the movie gave me a bang moment after seeing Matt Murdock ... I was like "damn daredevil is in the house!!!" though even just a cameo of 5 seconds now it is 100% sure that Daredevil characters would be joining the main marvel universe because we saw, Kingpin in Hawkeye's last episode (Main Villian of Daredevil). Now reunion of all three Spiderman was a shock for me because I don't follow social media buzz so much so, I was not expecting them to be here, plus Andrew Garfield continuously denied in interviews that he was in the movie. The reunion scene on the Statue of Liberty of one of the greatest scenes of the entire Marvel industry. The classic marvel humor scenes are also good like the scene where Ned's grandmother asks Andrew Garfield to clean the spider web. And the chemistry between Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield was amazing, like the scene where they were on the Statue of Liberty and Andrew helped him with his back pain.
One thing that I did not like was Ned using Doctor Strange's magic ring and was able to perform magic so easily, the magic that doctor strange himself took so many years to learn. Aunt May's death was very emotional but this is the break through a point where Peter got that destiny line "with great power comes great responsibility" which would help him become the actual spiderman as it did with the two others, but still May didn't deserve to die. I don't know if you noticed it or not but the recreation of MJ falling from height and spiderman saving her was epic, that scene was breathtaking and it was Andrew Garfield who saved MJ and he got emotional thinking about the same incident where he was not able to save his MJ.
In my view that was an outstanding scene. Now talking about the post-credit scene, Tom Hardy the venom character came and went back to his universe, he was able to gather intel about all the avenger's doings and past, so now he can be brought in the main storyline of marvel if they wish to do so. But when he was going you must have seen a little piece of venom was left behind, which was pure (as it was an offspring) and the only thing that it remembers is that he had to go and meet spiderman because Tom Hardy the venom said only this since he came to this universe, so maybe there is a possibility that the offspring of venom will combine with Tom Holland spiderman and he would become evil as we have seen in the old spiderman movie of Tobey Maguire. The second post-credit scene was the teaser of Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness that's a whole other topic I would write an answer about it if you want.
I know I am missing out some great scenes because there are so many epic moments in this movie I can't mention them all, but this was the best Spiderman Movie that I ever witnessed.
I hope you like my review, thank you for your time.
Only Murders in the Building (2021)
Only expectations in the Buildiung
Being a big fan of Selena, I started watching this show, I didn't had much expectations from it but to my surprise it turned out to be awesome, the humor in many places justify the that this is not an ordinary crime drama, in some places the show gets too serious in some places to which the humor lite the seriousness, so it kind of neutralizes the show and balances both the sides, which is great to be honest. A the story plot is also kind of new, which I haven't seen in the past crime dramas. The best thing about the show is the trio of Mabel, Charles and Oliver. These characters are so well written, that makes the show more enjoyable.
The End of the F***ing World (2017)
A whole new experience
I have never seen anything like this before, it just blew my mind. Usually while watching any series we come to a point where we can predict how will the story end or like how would the story is likely to end. But in this show, not even for a second I thought that what's gonna happen. The characters of Alyssa and James are so well written you just can't deny the fact that the story is so amazing because of the character back story. The humor is very good in places, also I liked the dark comedy part of the show, seen in various places of season 2. There is nothing negative I can say about the show, it was a great experience watching it. I NEED MORE SHOWS LIKE THIS!
Comedy Premium League (2021)
Why does this show exist in the first place
Netflix India has disappointed me every time literally nothing is there that I can enjoy they are making back to back worse shows like Feels like Ishq, mismatched, sacred games 2, and now this comedy premium league. Comedy Premium League is nothing but a cheap copied version of Amazon's Comicstaan. They are litredally deciding the king of comedy without including the actual king of comedians like Zakir bhai and Bassi bhai, it was like few bunch of You tubers just gathered like that, nobody knows whats going on. I honestly think if I could just use the time in sleeping which I wasted on watching this, that would be MUCH MUCH worth.
Harô Wârudo (2019)
Title explained
Since the movie is all about complex programming and its manipulation, its title alludes to the "Hello World" program which is often used to represent the basic syntax of a programming language.
Friends (1994)
This is an Evergreen show
When I watched friends I was around 14- 15. Its difficult to put into words how good this show is... I mean you can just switch on any random episode and it will be as good as any other episode. The bond of love and friendship among those 6 people is just worth more than anything. I can watch it again and again and again this show is just that marvelous and as I said earlier this is the evergreen show. I would rather request you than suggesting you to watch this. Thank you F. R. I. E. N. D. S for making my childhood incredible.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Straight and true
This movie is seriously over rated. There was nothing so special about the movie plot. The story was okay type also this movie was a bit lengthy than it should be so it made the plot more boring. I don't know why people are finding this movie so good, I watched this because it was high rated and I had some mind-blowing expections but the movie is 'in my opinion' not 8.9 imdb type
Tenki no ko (2019)
What went wrong
I think the last 30 minutes of the movie made it boring if the movie would have ended before also I think the story was complete in its on place
