I liked Jordan Peeles other movies (Get Out more than Us) but couldn't get anything out of this one.
At first I was waiting for something to happen or some emotions to attach to. All the actors were so weird and unlikable, the conversations were so slow and strange and it was really difficult not to fall asleep.
But nonetheless I was holding on because I thought it would be worthwhile at some point.
But it was just cheap and laughable at times and in the showdown was just crap.
I get the meaning it tries to give us. Also with showing us the monkey scene two times. But still, for me it's not enough and sometimes it's so crappy how things happen and are filmed and it reminded me sometimes of some awkward kids movies for really young children.
For me this was a complete failure. The writing, the acting, the director... everything was really bad.
What this movie succeeded in was boring its audience to death.
