Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)
Absolutely amazing in every respect
I wasn't sure if this would be as wonderful as the last one however my wife and i sat and watched this and was really impressed with it, its a full on family film with nothing to be cautious of and it delivers in every way, the acting was amazing from everyone and the cgi and make-up was some of the best I've seen in recent times, i cant understand how anyone would give this a less than 8 star rating? it wasn't too long and i never got bored like some films, the plot was great as well and i think they didn't go over the top with the cgi although a large amount of the film for obvious reasons was cgi it wasn't delivered in a way that made you think "Oh the cgi" like independence day and other films have, trust me its a really lovely master peace and your family will love it! well done to all that helped make such a wonderful film.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Quickly going off the Marvel films for this reason.
Love em hate em but Marvel films have been amazing when you consider the Avengers, i went to the Cinema and saw it in 3D & had all the whistles and bells like popcorn and chocolates etc, This film there is way too much talking in it and much more discussion than i was expecting? in fact my 14 year old son got bored and walked out of the Cinema about 40 minutes into it, When you think of the Avengers or Capitan America you think of CGI you think of action and fighting scenes but there really wasn't that much of it in this film and the worst thing was There was new superhero's joined up and almost all the other superhero's BUT NO THOR & WORSE STILL NO HULK! We love Hulk its just amazing hes like everyone's best mate but the film didn't have him or Thor in and i was shocked as id rather of had them in than spider-man or cat boy or what ever hes called in this? Marvel needs to be careful on what they are doing with their films.
Swiss Army Man (2016)
Shock horror i want my money and time back
SHOCKINGLY bad i don't think I've ever seen a film as weird and as boring as this? it started off OK and i mean just OK and then went from a dead corpse having a hardon which turns out to also be a compass to using the corpses head as a hammer? nothing made sense on it? drinking water out of a dead persons mouth...who thinks of these films...the problem is the film industry has ran out of ideas and here is the evidence..all the people who gave this a 5+ star rating need their heads testing...Seriously i want my money back and the time i lost... i have seen some weird films over the years but this is by far the most bizarre even my wife said its rubbish and she can handle just about any type of film.
ARQ (2016)
Ground hog day meet the err basement?
It had Great potential the music score was fantastic it really reminded me of the music from Terminator 1 & 2, the acting was pretty good But it all died from there? picture this a group of people based in a basement for over an hour fighting and trying to figure out the kinda time machine they have in front of them, it wasn't until 1:17 into the film that they actually went outside and even then it was for less than a minute? basically the whole film is based inside a house, i thought when it got to 17 minutes they where then going to leave the house and go outside but i was wrong they kept dying and the time machine kept bringing them back to figure out the plot again and to work around and with the time machine? some of the actions in the film didn't work? one guy was shot point blank in the face and somehow survived it? the film had Huge potential had they of made chase in the streets but it was Way too based inside the house and its for that reason and that reason only I've dropped it right down to a 3 out of ten as the director should of seen that as a major weakness in the films plot and that people don't want a film based solely inside a house it doesn't take a lot to see where the director went wrong.
I.T. (2016)
Better than i expected Mr Brosnan still makes a great actor
I watched this without knowing anything about it? however i found the film really good and likable, the acting was very good the plot was very good and the only thing id say negative was the scene in the shower with his 17 year old daughter made myself and my wife cringe and turn away, it would of been much better had the daughter of been say 24 & at college or something? but 17 and seeing her do what she did was really uncomfortable for us and should be for any parent, the ending part could of been a lot better the storm that was over the house was Clearly a fake storm as the rain was belting down yet the bushes to the slight left where stood still (Rolls his eyes) apart from them two it was very good i wished the director had included a bit more detail about the USB sticks and that we got more depth about the IT guy rather than the little detail we got, Over all id give it an 7/10 it lost one point for the fake storm which was clearly obvious it was fake but it lost 2 points for the scene in the shower it was really unnecessary by a girl of that age.
Cell (2016)
Big names small action shame really it had so much potential
With names like Stephen King/John Cusack/Samuel L. Jackson & Stacy Keach you can bet its going to be a box office smasher its time to sit down with the popcorn in total silence to watch a Zombiefest so you get comfortable and then wait and wait and wait and then right at the end there is 4 minutes of action? i was lucky to get a pre screening of this and i really did expect more? the cgi was dire the smoke clouds was clearly fake and that was very easy to see, i thought the cgi as a whole was very 5 out of 10 not what i expected from such a big named cast, IMDb or someone gave it 8.9/10 really? i mean seriously i thought it was OK i thought the acting was good cusack/keach and jacksons acting was top notch the other actors where also very good it really disappointed me the way the foam came from peoples mouths from a cell/mobile phone they have tried to make it more graphic than they should of done and when the plane crashed into the airport why on earth didn't they use better cgi? overall id give it at best 6/10 the plot was plausible but again another part that i thought was unrealistic was the bar scene i mean there is a zombie fest happening outside and they put the dukebox on come on?
Cloverfield (2008)
Not Bad BUT expected more.
This is a film with a difference, its got a decent cast & the plot is good, its VERY realistic this is due to the "Blair Which Project" use of a camcorder/video camera BUT its much better then BWP, the only thing i didn't like was the 15/20 minutes at the start that is based around a party i think they used that time to simply "Kill Time" the party goes on simply too long & i was starting to get borred, but this isn't to say its rubbish cause it Isn't, i think it will put the creep's up majority of people from all ranges of ages, i would give it 8 out of 10 & i would of given it one more point but the party at the beginning went on for too long & it would of had another point if the ending was better scripted i didn't like the way the end of the film came around making you know there's a number TWO on the way...hope this helps you all, Regards Keith (UK)
Silent Hill (2006)
its scare
well if you are like me played the game on PS1 & really enjoyed it you will enjoy this, its not quite as gruesome as i would of liked however its pretty scary, one of the things i found that the film didn't have but the game did have was those "Pterosaurs's" those kind of flying dinosaurs..anyway the film is good & worth watching also its not predicable like most American films, the beginning is good & the story is realistic & if you never completed the game this gives you the answer as to what happened also the ending wasn't quite as good as i expected however this is a "fiction" movie isn't it ..not for kids is this movie OK. regards Keith
The Cassandra Crossing (1976)
Its really worth watching
OK this is going be brief. as aim going out..this is a rare old film but i liked the storyline & there was a lot of famous actors (a lot of whom are long gone now) i agree they could of done more with the realism on the set but come on its back in the day like the 70's...hello for all other members that have insulted this film there was Little or no special effects then...so i would give it a generous 8 out 10 well to be honest i would give the film 4 but due to the fact its got "Sophia Loren" in it means a lot to me as shes gotta be the world most beautiful & amazing woman i would love to meet her...mm by the way aim 34 so liking Sophie doesn't mean aim old...or am i...???well to contact me as with anything else i publish heres my details Keith the beast (no spaces)@yahoo. co . UK regards Keith oh & to the admin why is this website so restricted on the text or comments we put.? i can understand it been approved before it goes onto your website but come on..
Bad Taste (1987)
ooh don't be eating your take away when watching this
yeah i totally agree with the other chap pie thats commented above me..all i would like to add is the acting is typically "austrailian" as in "cheesey" in fact there's as much cheese as a "mozzarella avalanche" but the effects in it a gruesome & realistic..if they had of put a bit more effort in it & less cheese this would of been a head turning movie but i will still give it 9/10 cause its just so bizarre just a shame about the cheese oh and to add to it please don't forget about the year in which the film was made in somewhere around 1989 or 1990 so whatever you do leave your take away alone or you wont be enjoying it or you'll be vomiting anyway sit back & enjoy the movie OK & stop thinking of cheese....regards Keith also please contact me if you want more details but i think the other guy above me said it all..bye
The Philadelphia Experiment (1984)
its not a bad film
OK i had wanted to watch this movie for years & finally did today,i was expecting it to be rubbish due to reading other comments & i suppose had it of been fiction i would of given it just 4 poss 5 however its based on real events & thats worrying & i suppose pending on how much is correct in the film as to what happened i liked it a lot i do agree with someones comments on the acting is a little bland at times however look at its year it was made eh...1984...there was a lot worse films out then,i thought the special effects was pretty good too & the real issue if its the only one i had with the film is about 3quaters the way through there is a scene when the main man & the girl he meets are driving & although there i a car behind them the camera changes angle to just him but when it goes to view them both from a front mirror view the car has gone then camera changes again then car is gone & so on & so on i was a little disappointed there..not sure if the ending was true as well i wont spoil it for anyone but it was what he does to get back to her...? so i hope this helped you if not email me OK i WILL reply regards Keith my email is my "username on this website"@yahoo.co.u.k
