Side Effects (2013)
Beware
It isn't a ba movie at all. There's only one important thing. It's about lesbians. And,that's not my cup of tea!
Plot is clever, interesting, not boring and surely the movie is worth watching.
What about actors? They're all really dissapointing. Main caracter doesn't even have a clever face enough to acting a doctor. The main actress is also dull. She's not too bad but isn't good at all.
This is a real suspense movie and I actually can't say it's bad. The only thing that suck is all that story about two lesbian girls. I simply can't stand watch any movie that promote some kind of strange or unusual sexuality.
True Romance (1993)
Porsche
I'm a fond of Porsche cars and in this film you can see one stunning example of flat nose 911 turbo! Then, you can find lot of very famous actors and two very famous directors. Plot is noting serious about. This is a real "just for fun" movie. If you want to have some fun this is the one! If you want some serious stuff...no! Anyway, it's a good film.
Some dialogues are hilarious and timeless. What about gore? Yes there it is. So much blood, drugs, guns, even Sicilian mafia isn't absent. A perfect mix for a weekend movie without children. I do not recommend the movie to children. It's really a violent movie.
The Conjuring (2013)
A classic
This one will last forever. It's a horror classic. It doesn't matter if the plot is real or fake. The movie just works and is highly scary at some points.
But, what makes the film highly rated is actually the atmosphere and all the stuff. You know, great costumes, soft picture, handsome actors, genuine era of the 70's...
Easily, we can find some dark sarcasm here. For example in dialogues between true believers and some suspicous dudes.
All that we funs of horror movies need is here. Licenced exorcists, priests, catholic church approvements etc..
If you want some nice fun without too much blood this is it!
The Woman in Black (2012)
Oldschool
The film is an oldschool project fith everything that a nice movie has to have. Yes, nothing new, but what's new today? Here we have a very famous actor, creepy and nice atmosphere in outer England. Lots of imagination, and, yeah, some scenes ARE scarry but surely not in a way we usually got today. Actually there's none of really creeepy scenes, just interesting from today's point of stand. Beautiful dark twisted fantasy with interesting and smart end. Can't miss if you're a fond of misty, darky, atmospheric old school ghost horrors. Pros, if you seek some gore and blood, keep away from this film. You won't find what you're loking for!
Oz (1997)
Male Nudity
As someone said, there's a lot of man's nudity and that's the only thing that sucks. It's not decent and you can even watch French kisses.
Some might say there's a lot of unrealistic situations and that's true. Still, it's not a doc movie 🎥. You need to let your imagination flow.
Acting is kinda bland but does it really matter? No! So, why? Because it's not the point of the show. Nobody cares. The plot is so spooky and twists are well done.
This is just another TV show, not big deal , so, from that point of view, it stands as a great success. In my personal opinion some dialogues are smart and deeper than I expected. I was surprised.
Then, why just two ⭐⭐. As l said, male nudity is overused. Probably because of women's audience.
The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
A Big 🛑
The borest movie I've ever ever seen. If you hate someone, recommend to him the movie 🎥. Simply it doesn't match any point! It's long, boring, not even funny, way far from hilarious.
I've been waiting and extremely patient and still nothing?! Mate, don't waste my precious time. I mean, hey dude 😎 😡 give us some real stuff. Not random *hit!
There are three brothers and they haven't seen each other for a long time, and then they talk and talk and nothing happens. Actually, nothing interesting happens.
Only that matters is beautiful Indian scenery.
To be honest, I can't, simply can't recommend the film!
Crimes at the Dark House (1940)
Bad , worse, the worst
This movie is very old as it's his school of acting. One can find lots of sloppy scenes. However, the main character is very interesting to watch as an actor. His face expressions and his body language are hilarious from today's point of view and aren't scary at all. At the time it probably was.
An estranged man, obviously lunatic and psychopath, killing all on his way. Even without any reasonable reason. His killing is more a kind of obsession than an utility.
Some scenes ARE terrifying, especially in the atmosphere of dark rooms, semetaries, foggy lakes and nights. If you're a fond of old cinematography the film can satisfy your curiosity but probably not more than that.
The Dark Eyes of London (1939)
Horror
Mr. Bela Lugosi is very famous actor, so nearly every his film is worth seeing. Even a famous English band Bauhaus wrote a song abouth him! At the other side, if we don't care about historical value and we seek just an ordinary movie, this is also one to be.
The atmosphere is creepy, murders are brutal, plot is easygoing. The end is funny and catchy.
No, this isn't modern horror, and you can't expect awful scenes like they make today. Actually, it looks pretty much naive for us modern people. And that's what makes this film so interesting.
I enjoyed all the time . Still, l found a scene that sucks. It was when a blind man successfully catched a non blind screaming woman. But that's really minor mistake.
I surely recommend. It's must see "grandpa of horror" movie!
Midnight (1939)
So Cute
Second half Is better definitly. There Is a few very memorable moments with lot a laugh. I recommend the movie, you won't waste your time! But, don't expect more than entertainment...
Actors aren't as familiar to me, still, I didn't care. I found them reliable.
At that time humor was still inocente and really cute. So, if you're a little bit romantic and nostalgic, this could be your cup of tea.
The cab driver also has a nice example of retro cars and we can see lot of interesting artefacts of that era. From that point of view, the movie is some sort of museum.
Need to mention, the film is more cute than hilarious!
Enjoy.
