The Sopranos: Made in America (2007)
It's been a pleasure
Never disappointed, not once.
Plenty of talk about the ending here in Australia and the last 9 episodes have not even aired. Must be lots of broken up files making the journey here via cyberspace.
AJ the useless hypocritical rich kid, brilliant. Meadow the useless, wet naive rich kid. Carmela holds equal responsibility for the family psyche.
Incredibly funny, and unpretentious. Life never has neat and tidy endings and we all die with unanswered questions.
Sopranos has been just about the only worthy export to come out of the entertainment industry from the great big bully of the world, America, the grand ol' US of A, the greedy rulers of planet earth cough cough you wish.
300 (2006)
Dreary tired storytelling, CGI love affair.
Dawn of the Dead was a perfect hand your brain out zombie flick. 300 was a head in the clouds boring over stylized waste of time. Just stick to the graphic novel.
So, what will he do to the Watchmen.
Unfortunately I feel that 300 has been given way to generous a reception and therefore any critical feedback will be lost. Leaving the Watchmen to the demented over use of egocentric style and cgi.
Let's hope not, although reading the graphic novel with my son will be fanforcetastic and entertaining than passively watching a film no matter how well done.
Miami Vice (2006)
Trite
Glad I do#$%^&ed this utterly droll film. The only worthy aspect of the two hours was the food preparation I got done while very occasionally paying attention to the acting/script/gloss. Watched Running Scared after-wards - that was at least fun and all I did through that one was pack my bag for work. Jamie Foxx was forgettable and just seem to float in and out of the main draw card Colin Farrell. Lacklustre performances on all sides. Truly astounded that it is receiving good reviews in Australia. Dull and uncreative, I feel that perhaps not taking itself so seriously and aiming for an authentic eighties flavour may have added some chuckles to weary predictable made in the Ol' US of A trite.
