Roar (2022– )

Thought-provoking for me

I love how each story takes a feeling or an experience and makes it physical. Literally disappearing, literally a trophy wife. The woman with bite marks was significant to me-never thought about it that way, but so true. Maybe not universally, but for a lot of women I know.

Another pro: Roar has a cast of diverse women, written by women, and almost all of the exec producers are women.

If only

One of my fav shows ever, seasons 1-3 are brilliant, hilarious, the best. 10/10. 4-5 need to not ever have existed. 0/10. So glad some of my other faves stopped when they did.

Couldn't

The writing is. Just. So. Bad. Couldn't make it through the first episode. They immediately share deep life stuff and want to solve true crime stuff together? No.

I'm no critic...

So I don't understand why others gave such low ratings. I'm just a normal person, looking for great: acting, writing, casting, and plot development. Which, as we all know, is hard to find. Characters are three-dimensional right off the bat and the writing makes me want to see where they're gonna end up at the end. In this current "stream-it-all-but-there's-nothing-to-watch" period of time, I was happy to keep hitting "next episode."
