A creative and affecting take on the superhero short film. Chris Notarile does a fine job exploring a man's love through the fantasy of a drug addicted woman. Nick Grock and Johanna Telander portray the couple and give strong, committed performances. Telander is both vulnerable and tragic as a woman fighting addiction and Grock once again (as he did in Die Laughing)makes a most believable Superhero with an effective blend of strength and down to earth realism. I really like the sub-text in this script in regard to "the hero that lives in all of us" and how that heroism is unleashed to reach out to one that we love. Nice work by all involved!

This film has been a annual holiday favorite in my home since I first watched it when it aired on Lifetime channel in the mid 90s. Director Jerry Vasilatos does a fine job with this character study of a disillusioned and lonely young man named Nick searching for himself on Christmas Eve. I like how the film strays away from the usual clichés and instead examines how small moments that seem insignificant can really make difference in our lives. Mike Kelley finds the right moments of uncertainty and boyish charm as Nick and Mary Margaret McCloud is also good as his former girlfriend Kristine who is doing some soul searching of her own on this Christmas Eve. Kelley and McCloud have good chemistry together and their scenes are effective and touching. With the constant commercialization of Christmas and increasing expectations of the holiday, it's nice to see film that examines its characters without histrionics or false sentimentality. Like Nick, many people approach Christmas with disappointment or loneliness and the film is an important affirmation to look within ourselves and appreciate the small gestures of kindness we can share to better those around us and most importantly, ourselves. For that reason, I watch this film every year on Christmas Day.

This is a classic love story. Streisand and Redford have terrific chemistry and make a great couple. Yeah, they're mismatched, but that's the brilliance of this film. How many times have we met someone we love that's bit different from us and then we try every way we know to make it work, yet in the end we realize we just can't change who we are. It's tragic and beautiful at the same time. I love the way Streisand and Redford really discover each other on screen. Little moments here and there such as when she drinks a toast to his book and he notices her shoes are untied and assists her in tying her shoes. I'm a Streisand fan and love her take on Katie. She never quits or gives up. There is passion, pain, strength and determination to Katie and Streisand hits all the right notes in this film from the beautiful title song to the heartbreaking ending. A treasure of a film!!!!

I agree with the comment that the ending of this movie is hilarious, unintentionally, of course. This is one of those films that is so bad that it is good because of its stupidity. The mystery isn't that mysterious and the sexual aspect of the story goes nowhere. Annabella Sciorra's character does the usual ridiculous things common in suspense films and its really hard to identify with her character because the screenplay has her come off as whiny rather than a professional therapist. If the film would have explored its sexual underlying theme and why Sciorra's patients act the way they do, then we in the audience would care why they are being killed. In addition, make Sciorra a feisty and intelligent therapist rather than one who trusts the wrong people then mopes later. But again,as stated before in a previous comment. Hold on to your hats for the over-the-top hoot of an ending. It is funny, ridiculous and pathetic all at the same time. This is right up there with Besty Palmer as Mrs Voorhees (Friday The 13th) as the funniest ending of a suspense/horror flick ever. Invite your friends, tell them its a comedy, because it really is!
