Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (2015)
Wasted Potential
Miraculous used to be such a great show. I remember when I watched it on Nickelodeon and was amazed to feel on how great of a show it was and how I used to watch it every time when it comes on Nicktoons.... Boy did that change ever since season 3.... They should have stopped at the second season as that felt like the end of the show's charm. Season 3 however... Is abysmal. And the show hasn't gotten better since. From Marinette being more of a creep to destroying Chloe's redemption to those unnecessary superheroes to making Hawk Moth less intimidating to making even likable characters to be not as good as they used to, and how Marinette is just an unlikable character now with her obsession with Adrien, getting weaker to ask on more superheroes. It worked on Alya, Nino, and Chloe...but it went way too far...Master Fu also became unlikable with Miracle Queen, Chloe getting replaced by Zoe on Queen Bee who is just unnecessary...it got more horrid with the writing on unnecessary romance drama, the animation went downhill, and to top it all off, it became ZagToon's biggest cashgrab which led to being mostly focused on that and not other shows like Zak Storm which was planned for a 2nd season but didn't get any updates. Miraculous used to be special but now it isn't. It has gotten so horrid that it makes Star Vs' 4th season seem tolerable. And it's a shame because I used to like this show up until season 3 ruined my interest of it. I would only recommend seasons 1 and 2 as after that is when the show went downhill.
Kuu Kuu Harajuku (2015)
Overhated, Overlooked, Forgotten.
For what Kuu Kuu Harajuku does is that it is an overhated series that gets claimed to be a HHPAY ripoff and has a poor start despite improving in later seasons. The characters can be likable, the villains can be interesting, a unique way to have their recording on Australia and Canada, and yet Nickelodeon treated this show as an acquisition dirty. It's not really an insult to Japan as it's more inspired by it and how it can be pretty relatable at times with the characters. Season 1 isn't great but it gets better in the later seasons of HJ5 & that it also has some connection to previous episodes. However, this show definitely needs a 4th season after leaving off with a cliffhanger as the crew who worked on the show wanted that to happen but the problem of that is how the doll sales didn't work out and how it failed on the US broadcast despite getting good treatment on Nick Jr, leading to the show's cancellation. Not only that but it used to have a 6.2 here until it got review bombed by someone who used multiple accounts, which took things way too far in my book. But the show while it doesn't have a good start with the flash animation, very bright visuals, and oversayings of the word kawaii, It managed to get good, with season 2 about HJ5 finishing their concert and season 3 about their world tour as it changed it's animation from Flash to ToonBoom, got less brighter and became more vibrant, limited the use of saying Kawaii and also it manages to still have that Harajuku style on the known fashion district to be different and special to fit on that kawaii aesthetic like it's artstyle being similar to the likes of Lalaloopsy and Sanrio. The music can be catchy too while having it's use on 2 vocalists which is unique and that it can also be pretty surprising too.
