Hank (1965)
Special guest star
I remember this show only because there was an episode where the Dodgers' Maury Wills appeared in full uniform to teach the baseball team the fundamentals of base stealing. I found that to be pretty informative. Hank was somehow on the baseball team. The team wore uniforms that looked like Washington Senators hand-me-downs. In the 1960s many Dodger players appeared on TV shows, especially the variety shows.
Warning Shot (1966)
Famous for something else
I remember that during the filming of this, Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale were both holding out from the Dodgers. The Dodgers had won the World Series in '65 and the two pitchers wanted substantial raises. GM Buzzie Bavasi played hardball, so the two didn't report to Vero Beach. They spent their holdout on the set of Warning Shot.Jansen was a huge Dodgers fan. I think they were supposed to play cops in the film. The two had rehearsed, and filming was slated to begin on April 11. That day, Koufax signed for $125,000 and Drysdale $100,000. Other than that, Warning Shot is a run of the mill cop movie. I felt as though I was watching an episode of the Fugitive. Still, I like this film only because of the connection to Koufax and Drysdale.
