1899 (2022)
Much better than Dark
I really struggled to watch Dark, I took me ages to finish the first season, and I dropped the series at the end of season 2. Instead, this series engaged me from the first episode, I love the characters, I don't know if it's because I'm also an European who had familiars that last century betted all their last resources in a one trip voyage to the New World, but the struggles of some them hit home. Add to it some missing ship, weird things happenings that reminded me of Lost, and a great soundtrack, made me binge watch the whole series in just 3 days.
Now I just want a second season, but I'm quite happy the travel so far.
Yakamoz S-245 (2022)
Bad combination of soap drama and sci fi
This is what happens when an script writers mixes an standard script for a Turkish soap opera with a bad quality Assylum sci fy parody movie (In this case Into the Night). The end result, a really bad series with no sense, cartoon characters, which looks all the time as a cheap copy of the original, that doesn't resolves the problems of the original and only serves to confirm that Netflix production are worst to other services which are cheaper.
Alien Worlds (2020)
Too much focus on Earth
For a documentary in theory set on alien planet it focus half of time on vanity shots of Earth people, instead of filling that time explaining how would be posible the life shown. In that way, the 2005 show from National Geographic, although not so visually stunning, was a much better documentary.
Snowpiercer (2020)
Who can believe this setting after Covid?
Seriously, as someone that has lived in a country with containment and isolation rules for weeks, who can believe that people in a train could still be sane in train after years without the chance for an small walk outside?
Maybe we forgave the 2013 for this since we didn't experienced isolation ourselves, but nowadays the whole setting with their cramped spaces make no sensed, they should hace wait at least a year until we have forgotten this epidemic, but right now seeing all those people in that cramped space and asking us to believe that after 6 years in isolation they are still mentally healthy is a joke.
Origin (2018)
Average horror series in space
This cannot be considered sci-fi since from the first 5 minutes they get all their science wrong (the gravity from rings is plain wrong), so if you expected an alternative to The Expanse, you'll get a plain B-Horror series full of chiches which only survives thanks to the good acting of some actors.
